The Rapa Nui Surfschool & Camps are located in Costa Calma in southern Fuerteventura. We also run a surfer bar with shop, which is the center of our activities and a cool chill-out spot only 50m away from the beach. Our camps are for surfers and surf interested open-minded guests of all ages. The family-like atmosphere and the possibility to have your own private refuge is what our clients like about our camps. The island allows us to run courses every day and all-year round. Because of the diversity of regional surf breaks especially in the south, we can choose the most appropriate waves fitting the level of our students best. ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
We have two different types of surf camps in Costa Calma. You can choose between apartments and nice laid back bungalows. Our bungalows are located close to our Rapa Nui Boardriders Bar in a quiet and peaceful private resort where you can relax and chill. You are only 100m away from the beach and shopping centers, bars and also dance clubs are within reaching distance. The resort offers a big heated pool with a bar and sundeck as well as several smaller pools with cool water. Every bungalow has a bedroom, living room with open kitchen, bathroom and terrace or balcony. The equipment includes oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and TV with satellite. Towels and linen are inclusive and cleaned regularly. The bungalows are only available with self-catering, but we can offer you breakfast to a special price in our bar.
The apartments are located in a quiet green complex with a large swimming pool and bar, sun loungers, mini market and free Wi-Fi network in the lobby. The resort restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner for a small extra charge for everybody who does not want to cook. Every apartment consists of a bedroom, living room with kitchenette and terrace or balcony. You can also choose from self-catering, breakfast, half-board or all inclusive
SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES
For your daily surf courses you will be picked up by one of our surf busses directly from your surf camp. The lessons take 4 hours and the complete material is included in the camp price. You will get your own personal wetsuit during the time of your holiday which is free of use during the course-free-time. Additional material such as surfboard, surf wax, lycra and leashes will be handed out at the surf spot by our I.S.A.-licensed, highly motivated and experienced instructors and are free of use during free time as well. Latest schooling methods (i.e. groups of max. 6 students per instructor, video analysis, go-pro camera shots) and a lot of experience guarantee a fast learning progress, so your surfing skills can develop easily. PROTEST and RIP CURL Boardwear as well as NSP and NEXO custom surfboards provide you with the best surfing hardware available.
Every Thursday we have a big open BBQ at our bar and for your free time lots of other activities (Quad tours, kite- or windsurfing, skate- or indo boarding, diving) are waiting for you. Specials are our Yoga lessons 4 times a week with our professional instructor Tina, a catamaran sailing trip around the South of the island and if you like SUP (Stand Up Paddle) surf courses as well.
SURF CONDITIONS Fuerteventura is well known for its over 500 beaches and 1.500km of coastal line. Water sports such as diving, sailing, kite surfing and surfing in water temperatures around 20°C are classic. The South of the island offers a huge variety of surf breaks (beaches, points, reef breaks) with any type of wave imaginable beginning with easy spilling waves up to crazy barrels. The mostly unknown surf spots lure with emptiness and perfection.
SURROUNDINGS/REGION Fuerteventura is the second largest of all 6 Canary Islands. The climate is warm and almost dry all year round. Water and air temperatures differ from 20 to 25°C in the winter up to 35°C in summer. The mostly volcanic islands impresses with unique wildlife and fantastic landscape, which awaits to be discovered by you.
DATES, PRICES AND SERVICES
The surf camp prices include 5 days of surfing lessons per week, accommodation, surf equipment, insurance, free BBQ on thursdays BBQ night at our bar, participation certificate and free use of surf or sports equipment during lessons-free time.
