Fluent in French, Arabic & English with Spanish on the way Sanaa is the perfect guide during your stay. Her extensive knowledge of the local area, culture and Moroccan cooking gives you a truly Authentic Moroccan experience.

Ali- Surf Guide/Enforcer

Speaking Arabic, French and English with fantastic surf guiding and big bear smile people warm to him and get hooked on surfing with smiles on their faces. His famous Ali boost when paddling into waves is soorly missed when the session is over.

Sabah - House Keeper/Chef

Sabah is our amazing African Spirit Chef and housekeeper. She is a lovely local Moroccan from Skirat and always has a smile on her face. Breakfast and Lunch.

Mitsu - Guardian

Mitsu guards the house 5 days a week and ensures the garden is maintained, he also ensures that we have the best sand in front of our beach villa (no jokes).

Lloyd - Marketing

Joining us for this season Lloyd has transformed our website and ensures you guys keep finding us. Also knowing the local spots Lloyd is great fun to surf with never letting there be a dull moment, but prepare for some dawny sessions if you show keenness!!

Tonta - Surf camp Dog

Tonta is the real boss in the camp always getting her walks on time! Found in a bin as a puppy in 2010 she has certainly upgraded her sleeping arrangements, she patrols the beach like she owns it and watches over the house throughout the day.

Nickname- Tonta doggy

CATERING

You can choose from our Apartment or Villa on Bouznika beach (25ks from Rabat) which both overlook some classic surf and are only a 5 minutes drive from a famous point break, reef break and the golf course. Alternatively you can stay in our traditional Riad in the heart of Rabat and experience the wonders, sights and sounds of this wonderful city.

So whether you want to learn to surf/cook, sunbathe on the balcony or just take it easy in Rabat you can now do so in the comfort of your own pad. We can arrange a hire car for you so you can get to the surf when its on as well as explore this amazing country.

How our surf guiding works!

African Spirit's surf guiding is very simple, you surf as often as you like at the surf breaks that are working best. We transport you from our beach front accommodation to the surf and teach you about each surf breaks characteristics. As far as surf guiding goes African Spirit provides flexible experienced guiding in an uncrowded surfing paradise!

LEARN TO SURF

CAMPER VAN HIRE

The ultimate Moroccan Surf Adventure Starts Here!

Travel throughout Morocco chasing the best waves and conditions and take your bed with you!! It's the perfect trip for two. On arrival we can advise you where the waves will be working to ensure you make the most of the what Morocco has to offer.

We are really excited about this new Camper Van Hire!! It's hard to stop our friends from booking up all the spaces, so get in quick if you fancy the freedom of having your own surf wagon in a african surfing paradise.

How it works:

March – October*: 7 day hire, From Saturday to Saturday, Collection from 14:00 & Return by 12:00

* Please contact us if you wish to hire outside of these Months

You can pick up the camper from Casablanca/Rabat airports or Mohamedia Railway station. The vehicle can be dropped off at any of these locations.

What you get:

- Internal and external board storage
- Storage for wetsuits
- Pull out bed that converts swiftly and easily
- Storage for clothes and food
- Sink/cooker unit and Fridge- 12v system powered with solar panel charging

The Boring But Necessary Stuff:

- £150 Deposit required to secure your booking,
- £500 Security deposit required, held for the duration of camper hire, and refunded upon return providing the camper is returned undamaged, refuelled*, and complete.
- Should there be any vehicle or equipment damage, we reserve the right to use this security deposit to make good any loss or damage, with the remainder being returned to the hirer upon completion.
- Deposit payments can be made via PAYPAL
- Drivers must be aged between 25 – 70 and have held a UK/Eur/Australian/NZ driving licence for a minimum of 24 months, some exceptions may be allowable, please call prior to booking to check.
- Driving License (both paper and card) + Proof of identity required at time of hire.
- Any speeding or parking fines will be re-directed to the registered Hirer.

*Fuelling- the camper will be provided with a full tank of fuel at the start of your hire duration, and should be returned with a full tank of fuel.

Take advantage of cheap to flights Marrakech then we'll take you to the waves. Whether it means going south or heading north, we keep it flexible to ensure you get the best surf conditions this beautiful country has to offer.
 
We’ll be out all day in search of perfect waves, finding the swell and giving you maximum time in the water. Thanks to  our beach side villa, local apartments, riads or even tents if you're really adventurous, we'll have your accommodation in both North and South Morocco covered too.

There is no better way to ensure you get the best waves this great country has to offer.

How it works:

A few days before your trip we’ll check the surf forecasts and decide what part of Morocco is going to give you the best waves possible. And we plan the trip from there – perhaps passed Sidi Ifni and beyond  or up north to the uncrowded breaks of Rabat and Casablanca.
 

What you get:

Accommodation, breakfast and packed lunch. Transport in our 2 fully fitted Jeeps with a ten-foot awning and iPod docking stations – a mobile home from home while we’re searching out the best surf.

With African Spirit, you can do it all. As a family, you can rent our entire spacious beachfront villa for your holiday and really make the place your own in this warm, friendly atmosphere run by husband and wife team Marcus and Sanaa.

This is the perfect location whether you’re an experienced surfer or a complete beginner. And if both parents would like to surf together, we offer babysitting while you are out enjoying the waves.
Breakfast and a traditional Moroccan lunch are included in the price (with options for the evening meal) so all you need to think about is relaxing with your family.

MORE INFO, HOW TO GET THERE & FAQ

You will find very little information about the uncrowded waves surfed in North and South Morocco and we're not about to plaster the internet with our local knowledge (sorry)! However we have been running our surf guiding for 8 years in the local area, and guests always leave with a smile. With numerous point and reef breaks in the very local area for different levels of surfer there really is alot of choice, but If you want a little more assurance before booking then email us with a couple of questions.

JOURNEY

Getting to African Spirit is very easy! We would recommend flying to Rabat or Casablanca airports, we will meet you in arrivals and take care of everything, plus it's only a short 50 minute hop to the camp!

 
Possible destination airports are the following;

Casablanca Mohamed .V (CMN) - 50min transfer

Rabat (RBA) - 50min transfer

Marrakech Menara (RAK) - 3.5hr Train to Mohammedia then 20min transfer

Fes- Saiss (FEZ) - 4 hr Train to Bouznika

The African Spirit Chef (Sanaa) will teach you how to make the traditional dishes that are central to Moroccan cuisine:
