Exploring Bali
The concept of our Kima Bali Surfaris encompasses daily exploration of adjacent and surf spots further afield. Our years of Bali experience lead you to the island’s best surf such as the riff in Bingin, 6 km of sandy beach at Kuta Beach or shorebreak in Dreamland.

Depending on daily conditions, participants’ wishes and surf level, our guests spread out across the island in small groups by car or boat. This allows you to take part in at least 14 surf sessions at different spots a week.

There’s also a lot of culture and different activities to be experienced around the island. Hindu Bali offers a great number of ancient temple sites, royal palaces and rice terraces inland, but also shopping and dining options or trendy hotspots in the coastal cities. Sports enthusiasts at our Seminyak surf camp can choose from a wide variety of activities, such as diving, wakeboarding/kiteboarding, stand-up paddling, volcano trekking, rafting, mountain biking or climbing giant trees.

Cultural and sports trips
We offer a different island tour on every day of the week for those looking to explore inland Bali, providing you each day with one or more vehicles including a driver for a small fee. The itineraries include tours to the volcano lakes along rice terraces stopping at old temple sites and waterfalls. More often than not, several guests spontaneously decide to go on a trip together, sharing both fun and costs. These tours can therefore only be booked on site.

All on your own
Get to know Bali on our own with one of our minibuses (min. 3 guests), jeeps and mountain bikes that are available free of charge for island tours or other activities. Just check with us for availability.
You can hire a scooter with a board carrier for a few euros per day.
A driver can be organised at our reception for short trips to the supermarket or the ATM.
An international driver’s licence is necessary for all vehicles!

THE TEAM
In 1989 it was „Pencak Silat“, a type of martial arts, that brought Ari to a training camp in Indonesia, where he was meant to be preparing for competitions in the homeland of this old Malaysian martial art. However, it wasn‘t long before he got hooked on something completely different.......surfing, and the enchanting way and mentality of the people here. And thus the idea of a Bali Surfari was born. The years that followed saw him laying the foundation for the first Kima Bali Surf Camp along with his best mate, Boris.

Kima Surf has now been organising Surf Camps and Surfaris since 1995. Of course lots of things have changed since then, but one thing still remains: it‘s a get-together of like-minded people with the one and the same passion - surfing as a life-style.

We all have one commitment: working hard to make the idea of the Bali Surf Camp an unforgettable experience for you.

Your surf hotel in Seminyak
For your comfort before and after surfing, we paid particular attention to genuine Bali feeling when designing the accommodation in Seminyak. Stylish double and four-bed rooms, each with their own bathroom and mini terrace, are located at the natural stone pool surrounded by a tropical garden. All rooms on Bali meet western criteria and feature hot water, ventilation or A/C.

Surroundings
A few minutes’ walk from your room in Bali are some legendary beach breaks, such as HalfWay, Padma, Gado-Gado and KuDeTa. These breaks are perfect for beginners and are an ideal contrast to the daily Surfaris with our camp cars to all Bali surf spots.

Numerous shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance. You can reach the party and shopping hotspot Kuta after a five-minute taxi ride or a 15-minute walk along the beach.

ROOM TYPES

Deluxe Suite
Our Bali Seminyak Camp offers two air-conditioned deluxe suites for extra comfort. Each suite is divided into a bedroom and sitting area, and these rooms are equipped with TV/DVD, mini-bar and a spacious en suite bathroom with hairdryer and bathroom amenities. Two safety deposit boxes are there to store your valuables.
The Suites include private sun lounges in front of the room offering additional space to lounge in the sun and relax between surf sessions.
The deluxe suite price includes a deluxe version of the breakfast with a selection of several delicious extras. Our restaurant staff can deliver your daily breakfast to your suite if you prefer a bit of extra privacy during your stay.

Superior Room
Our air-conditioned superior rooms in Bali are located on the second floor of the second surf camp area within the camp and offer the perfect choice for those who like a little more privacy. All rooms overlook our pool area with pool bar and are equipped with a king-size bed and a small balcony with seating in the entrance area.
A small desk, a 32-inch LED flat-screen TV and a DVD player cater to relaxed breaks in your deluxe accommodation between surf sessions.
The modern and bright interior provides you with a relaxed atmosphere and each room comes with complementary toiletries, deluxe bath towels, hairdryer, cosy bedding and a private safe.
The room also includes a deluxe version of our daily breakfast with numerous additional delicious extras to choose from.
Our camp restaurant, additional chill out areas and our second pool with Jacuzzi are only a couple of steps from your room in our Seminyak Camp.

Tipi Double Room
Our cosy tipi rooms in Bali are particularly comfortable and are a great place to experience a real Balinese lifestyle. All of the tipis are furnished with A/C, a queen-size bed, storage space for your belongings and a private safe. Shared toilets and cold/hot showers are located in close vicinity to the tipis.
Our tipis are located right in front of a stylish swimming pool, complete with a poolside bar where you can relax between surf sessions.
Additional chill out areas and our second pool with jacuzzi and our camp restaurant are only a couple of steps from your tipi in our Bali Seminyak Camp.

Deluxe Dorm Ground Floor
The two-story deluxe dorms at the surf camp Seminyak combine traditional Balinese style with western comfort. The downstairs deluxe dorm includes 2 bunk beds and share a spacious bathroom with the guests in the downstairs and upstairs rooms. The bedroom is equipped with air conditioning during the night and plenty of storage space. The small tropical garden provides authentic Bali flair and offers the perfect spot to dry off your wet bathing suit after surfing.
The maximal occupancy for the downstairs dorm is four people.

Deluxe Dorm 1st Floor
Climb the wooden stairs of our two-story deluxe dorms at our surf camp Seminyak. This dorm combines traditional Balinese style and aesthetics with western comforts. The upstairs deluxe dorm has two bunk beds, complete with spacious storage and personal safety boxes for each guest. The bedroom is equipped with air conditioning during the night. There is a downstairs bathroom shared with a max of eight people which includes a toilet and cold / hot overhead shower.The max occupancy for the deluxe dorm first floor is four people.

Deluxe Double/Twin (shared)
The double or twin AC deluxe rooms are located on the first floor of our main surf camp house. The sofa bed on the small terrace in front of each deluxe room is the perfect place to relax between surf sessions. The rooms feature a semi-open bathroom with a small tropical garden, along with luxury bath towels, deluxe bedding, a big wardrobe and two working desks.
The deluxe rooms have 32? LED-TV with include a surf movie collection, and a DVD player with an extensive DVD library available at our front desk. A great setting for a night in while recovering from all of that surfing!
These rooms are located just in front of one of our swimming pools with jacuzzi. Relax in our chill out area complete with bean bags, sofas, and a football table where you can challenge the surf guides to a game!

Standard Double/Twin (shared)
The double or twin standard rooms in the Bali Seminyak Camp are on the top floor of our two-floor of our surf camp main house overlooking the natural stone pool and the jacuzzi. All rooms are equipped with safety deposit boxes for each guest, fan cooling and en suite bathroom. Mosquito nets are available on request at the front desk. These rooms in Bali are the perfect place to read or relax between surf sessions and get a good night sleep during your stay.
These rooms are located just in front of one of our swimming pools with jacuzzi. Relax in our chill out area complete with bean bags, sofas, and a football table.

3-bed Dorm
For a reasonable price you can book yourself into our downstairs dorm bungalow. This dorm room is air-conditioned during the night, furnished with stylish white painted bunk beds and includes a safety box for your belongings. The bathroom area with toilets and cold-hot showers are directly attached to the bungalow.
A stylish pool with pool bar and relaxation areas are located directly in front of your dorm providing you with the ideal place to chill out and socialize between surf sessions. There is also a tipi massage room for that perfect post surf treatment.
Our camp restaurant, additional chill out areas and our second pool with jacuzzi are only a couple of steps from your room in our Seminyak Camp.

6-bed Dorm
Our upstairs 6-bedroom dorm bungalow is a great option for a reasonably priced room in our Bali Seminyak Camp. The dorm room has air conditioning during the evening and night, and is furnished with tropical décor and style. The bathrooms, along with toilets and cold-hot showers are directly attached to the bungalow.
Just outside the dorm bungalow is a pool side bar and swimming pool. This is the perfect location to pull up a beanbag and relax in between surf sessions. The massage tipi is located here as well.
Our camp restaurant, additional chill out areas for socializing, and our second pool with jacuzzi are only a couple of steps from this dorm room.

8-bed Dorm
Book yourself into our 8-bedroom dorm room in Bali Seminyak Camp for a reasonable price. The room has air conditioning during the night and is decorated with a tropical style. The dorm room includes storage space and a personal safety box for your belongings. The toilets and cold/hot showers are directly beside the bungalow.
Just outside the dorm room is a pool and pool side bar where guests can relax with other travelers between surf sessions. There is also a tipi massage room where you can have a Balinese massage during the day.
Our camp restaurant where we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as an additional chill out areas and our second pool with jacuzzi are only a couple of steps from your rooms in Bali Seminyak Camp.

4-bed Lumbung 1st Floor
This four-bunk bedroom in our Bali Seminyak Camp is a Lumbung, a Balinese whitewashed wooden bungalow with two stories and a traditional grass roof. Climb a set of wooden stairs to reach the room with two bunk beds, mosquito nets and a safety deposit box for each guest. The dorm room has air conditioning during the evening and night.
The Lumbung is located just in front of our pool and jacuzzi, and a short walk to the camp restaurant and chill out area complete with comfortable sofas and a nice place to relax.

4-bed Lumbung Ground Floor
Stay in our 4 bed downstairs room of a traditional Lumbung, a Balinese whitewashed wooden bungalow that has two stories and a traditional grass roof. The room is complete with two bunk beds, plenty of storage space and personal safety boxes for each guest. A bathroom is located within the Lumbung, and each floor has their own personal toilet and overhead cold/hot shower. The dorm room has air conditioning during the evening and night.
The Lumbung is located close to the Front Office and just in front of one of our swimming pools with jacuzzi. Relax in our chill out area complete with bean bags, sofas, and a football table where you can challenge the surf guides to a game!

Food & drink
Our restaurant at the Seminyak surf camp is open from 7 am to 11 pm and offers various international and local dishes created by our experienced chef.

Daily breakfast included
Our delicious breakfast options – plus an upgrade to deluxe breakfast – are available from 7 to 12 am. Free tea and coffee is available every day until 6 pm. If you take part in an early morning surf session, you can swap your breakfast for a lunch or dinner snack.

Standard breakfast
Included in the camp price is our standard breakfast with a choice of fresh fruit juices, starters like fruit salads or pancakes, and main courses such as eggs of any style or fried noodles. Find the exact details in the right-hand column.

Indo food
The cost of living on Bali is pretty low. A healthy and filling meal (e.g. fish with a side dish) will cost around 3 €. The obligatory evening beer on the beach is likely to be the most expensive thing on the healthy indo food menu. Fruit salads or Nasi or Mie Goreng (fried rice/noodles) can be had for under 2 €, even on the most remote beaches.

International food
In Seminyak, there are plenty of good restaurants with high-quality food that cater for western tastes. You’ll find all sorts of food: German, Persian, Italian, Japanese, Greek or Brazilian, plus international fast food chains, of course.

Pimp your standard breakfast to a deluxe spread for little money. You will receive a wider selection of breakfast options such as freshly prepared smoothies, muesli, bagels, Nutella and more. The perfect start for your surf day.

Beginners
For beginners the many semi-beach breaks on our doorstep are ideal for riding your first green wave and improving your take-off.
Total beginners we recommend booking our 3-day learn-to-surf package.

Intermediates
For intermediate surfers Bali has a whole series of soft reef breaks and semi-beach breaks in store.
Many perfect waves nearby or famous spots a bit further away will push your skills and maybe even make you an advanced surfer by the end of your stay.

Advanced
Of course it is also the advanced surfers that really get their money’s worth on Bali.
The best waves all around Bali are on our schedule: the legendary Airport breaks, the classic Bali waves such as Dreamland and Balangan or the world famous spots like Padang-Padang, Keramas or Uluwatu.

Surf Guiding
Kima Surf Camp’s big plus is that surf guiding is inclusive, twice a day, every day! We organise up to 16 trips daily, seven days a week, for all surf levels to various breaks all round Bali. In other works: you can take part in at least two guided sessions per day.
Small groups divided into different skill levels visit surf spots taking current tide, swell and wind conditions into account.

Local Kima surf guides
Our well-trained Kima surf guides always surf with you in the water, giving you tips and showing you tricks. They are familiar with the island and will tell you everything you need to know about the spot, pointing out any potential hazards.
The sessions are filmed and analysed afterwards six times a week. You can also join the theory lessons that we offer twice a week.
Our guided surf tours are always adapted to the given conditions and, depending on the swell, the odd secret spot may come to light. Meanwhile, slightly more advanced beginners can already surf a reef break at low swell and boast about conquering Uluwatu.
With our years of experience, you’ll always be at the right spot at the right time!

Daily routine
Select the surf sessions that suit you best from our digital surf planner at the surf resort in Seminyak the day before. If you’ve got a real itch for surfing and don’t mind getting up for an early morning surf, you even get to enjoy more than two sessions a day. Our surf guides will be pleased to help you to make your choices.

And don‘t worry about the swell - that’s 100% guaranteed!

Add ons
Board Rental     50 €/week or 10 €/day

Don´t worry about bringing your own board, we have it covered. We have shortboards (6'0'' - 7'0''), funshapes and mini-malibus (7'0'' - 7'8'') available for every level and all conditions. Leashes and lycras are included in the rental. Any repairs or loss of equipment need to be paid for.

Board Insurance   50 € up to 3 weeks or 10 €/day

Be on the safe side and "insure" your rental board. We will carry the costs for any repairs over a period of 1 – 3 weeks, whether it’s a tiny dent or a major break. Any damage will be repaired professionally. If the board or parts of it get lost - even if it is in the water - the costs have to be borne by the user.

Airport transfer
For surf camp holidays of at least five nights or more, we provide an airport pick-up and drop-off free of charge from and to the surf camp in Seminyak. Our driver will wait for you at the airport arrival hall. Please make sure that you send us your flight details at least 48 hours before arrival. If you stay less than five nights, we can also organise transfer for you for 15 euros (one-way).
