Carcavelos – Guincho
They say that this massive sand-bottom break, called Carcavelos, is probably the birthplace of Portugal’s surfing culture. No wonder why this beach is the scene of several local, national and international surf competitions. The left and right breaks provide something for everyone. This wonderful beach is only 10 minutes away from our hostel and as it’s one of the top surf spots it blends convenience and fun for sure!

Combining intense surfing with dramatic scenery, Guincho is one of the finest beaches of Lisbon region and it’s sit on the western edge of Sintra National Park. The main attraction here are the massive waves, which roll in from the Atlantic Ocean and combined with the near constant breeze offer the perfect conditions for confident surfers!

Early in the morning, you can either join our yoga practice or take a walk on the seaside, after opening your appetite our super healthy and rich breakfast will taste much better! You can always find fresh fruits, bread, croissants, fruit juice, coffee, milk, cereals, yogurt, tea and much more…

Each morning our surf camp instructors picks you up and take you towards the best waves, according to your surfing level. Since we have more than only one fixed location, we have good waves almost everyday and we’ll take you where it best suits your level.

For lunch you can either take one of our special lunch boxes and enjoy to lay at the beach more time or come back at the hostel to chill a bit in our blue terrace! During the afternoon, if you subscribe to the intensive surf camp, then you’ll get the chance to ride more waves and have more fun. At sunset you have the chance to join our deep stretching yoga session so you feel less sore the day after. And finally, enjoy one of our famous BBQ while listening to some music and chatting with all this amazing travelers that get together at the hostel!
