Hotel Cabinas Las Olas offers all the necessary services for an unforgettable vacation on the beautiful white sand beach of Playa Avellanas. Your comfort and enjoyment of nature are two of our main objectives. For this reason Hotel Cabinas Olas has 24 hrs of security, parking lot, maid service, as well as ten spacious and beautiful cabinas. All cabinas offer a terrace and hammock, double and single orthopedic beds, safety box, ceiling fans and/or air conditioning(not all), private bathroom with hot water.
Our Restaurant/Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, specializing in international and typical Costa Rican food; including vegetarian options. The restaurant is surrounded by different kinds of native Northern Guanacaste trees, providing shade and breeze throughout the day. The laid-back vibe in the restaurant is facilitated by music and surfing videos all day long. If you are in the mood for a little post-dinner action, we have a ping pong table, foosball table and a dart board. We also have a surf shop on the side with surf boards for sale and rent, fins, decks, and everything that you will need for your surfing trips.The surf shop additionally offers clothes, accessories and souvenirs as well as mountain bikes for rent.
At Cabinas Las Olas one of our main concerns is preserving nature, for that reason all of the rooms, the restaurant and the surf shop are surrounded by lush and beautiful trees, some of which are in danger of extinction such as the; Coco Bolo, Laurel, Cenizaro, Roble and Guanacaste (our National Symbol). Hotel Cabinas Las Olas believes in safeguarding these trees as they are indigenous to Costa Rica, thereby permitting visitors to enjoy the native flora that is typical of Guanacaste. Additionally, the near by mangrove reserve gives guests the opportunity to be acquainted with one of the most important and complete ecosystem of the world.
For this reason one of our main priorities is taking care of this incredible environment by initiating the Sustainable Tourist Program. SURF COURSE DETAILS
The perfect base camp if you want to surf in the best surf points of Guanacaste: Playa Grande, Tamarindo, Langosta, and very near from us: Playa Negra (considered one the best rights in the North Pacific).

JOURNEY
From the Alajuela Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO): As soon as you exit the airport take the PanAmerican Highway towards San Jose, once you reach the Southwestern corner of the Sabana Park turn right entering the highway to Caldera (have some change ready for the toll booths). Drive on this road for 90km (60 miles) and head north into the PanAmerican Highway. After 50 km (31.2 miles) you’ll see a Shell Gas Station and a Restaurant called “Las 3 Hermanas”, turn left and drive over the Tempisque Bridge until you reach a “T” intersection. Turn right and after the city of Santa Cruz turn left, (the road might be bumpy so take it easy!) follow the road for 30km (19 miles), when you reach the town called Paraiso head north and after 10km (6.25 miles) you’ll see the entrance to the Cabinas las Olas on your left.
