Seasonal conditions
From June to September we have mostly north swells making Guincho the best option once is exposed directly to the ocean. During this month’s Carcavelos is pretty much flat.
From October to May we get bigger swells from NW and E. This time of the year both breaks have waves pretty much every day, but Guincho became an only expert break, once those bigger waves create demanding insides and big waves.
Weather wise, Portugal has a lovely weather. From Mat till October expect a sumerish time getting his peak in temperature From July till September. The coldest months are December and January with a temperature average og 16ºC.
The water temperature changes between 15ºC-19ºC making the use of wetsuit mandatory all year round. From June till October a 3/2mm wetsuit is enough the rest of the year a 4/3mm is a better option.
Crowd factor and local people
Our surf camp is centrally located in one of the best surf areas in Portugal and the best one around Lisbon. That means that the crowds are a reality all year round. However, there's no "localism" and the atmosphere in the line-up is quite friendly.

Surfing:Nice Way Sintra was fantastic for a weekend getaway from Lisbon. The place was clean and the staff was so welcoming, especially Ana and Sarah! The yoga instructor, Elizabetta, was also really wonderful and it was so nice to start our Saturday with an hour long yoga session in the building. The free breakfast was a nice perk, as well as the bar in the lovely garden. I'll definitely be coming back!

Surfing:Seriously an amazing hostel that welcomes you like a favourable family member. Doesn't matter if you're young or old you'll fit in. The hostel beams with colour and light compared to many of its local counterparts. The proximity is also amazing to everything you need. There's a fine chef at the hostel who cooks most nights. Alan's dinners are a key way to bring guests together at one common table. When the sun is out the backyard is bliss with cushions, mattresses and swings to soak up the tranquility. I swear to goodness this place is amazing!
