Summary

As Morocco’s leading surf camp, we take away all the stress of planning a surf holiday and instead give you the chance to surf some of Morocco’s best waves. We believe that a surf holiday should be an experience though too, which is why we offer authentic holidays so you can see the deep Moroccan culture, all while catching some incredible Moroccan surf.
The Surf Berbere camp is situated right on the rocks at Hash Point. There’s nothing better than waking up, walking 3 metres and jumping into the mellow waves of Hash Point. All the rooms have shared balconies overlooking the ocean and our roof terrace offers full panoramic views of the multiple surf spots. The camp itself caters for up to 25 people, but we are capable of stretching for much larger groups. We are not trying to grow into Moroccos biggest surf camp. Just maintain our position as the best.
Our team has been surfing their whole lives and our local surf knowledge is second to none. We have built up the best reputation in town, through providing fantastic value for money surf holidays in Taghazout.

ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

The Berbere Surfcamp Morocco is located directly at the beach. Most of the surf spots as well as the town center with its shopping facilities and restaurants are accessible in only a few minutes on foot.
The surf conditions directly at the camp and at nearby spots are great throughout the whole year. But the best surf is during the winter when the big swells roll in. This is not to say that the Summer is a barren spell. The beauty of our region is that so long as there are some 5ft swells hitting the buoys, somewhere will be working. This being said it is definitely advisable to hit the winter waves if you want to see the big overheads.

CAMP CHARACTER

The target group is not specialized which you can also see by looking at the possibilities of accommodation. The surfcamp itself might suit more for the younger generation. A family or couples at any age might choose one of the apartments.
If you are looking for a party holiday, this camp is not the one you should choose but with the location, variety of accommodation and the great wheather this camp has a lot of other advantages!

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

Surf Berbere offers an amazing range of apartments and accommodation in the Taghazout/Tamraght area. These surfer’s apartments are either on the oceanfront or have sea views over the Taghazout coastline.
We either have accommodation at the surf camp or in apartments. The most common option is the surf camp but those looking for a bit more privacy or luxury might like an apartment. The rooms in the surf camp are with shared or double rooms. The shared rooms are 4 person rooms. We try to separate sexes but this isn't always possible. The private rooms are basic but comfortable. Each room shares a bathroom with one other room. We have 2 full time cleaners however so cleanliness is a very rare problem! If we're full but you really want to come, we may offer you our 8 person room. You'll be offered a discount as well of course. Bathrooms and kitchens are always included in the apartments as well as a tv, bed linen and in most of the apartments a balcony, too. Internet access is available all over the place.

CATERING

The included meals vary between the accommodation. If your accommodation is an apartment nearby the camp, it is a self-catered holiday. But you can also book camp dinners for an extra £8. But shopping facilities and restaurants would just be a few minutes away.
In some packages all meals are included. You have to look carefully what you get for your package.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

SURF COURSE DETAILS

We limit groups to eight guests to one surf coach so you can be sure of some fantastic instruction.
Taghazout has surf breaks for everyone. The beach breaks of Panoramas or Devil’s Rock are perfect for beginners learning to surf in safe sheltered bays. The reefs of Boilers and Mysteries give the more adventurous surfers the chance to experience the thrill of big take off’s on some pretty hairy boiling reefs. Finally, the world-class right-handers Killers and Anchors, give you the chance to stretch your legs and pump through some heavy barreling sections. We’ll defiantly find something suitable for you - whatever your standard!
There are three ways to be part of the berbere surfcamp group. The experienced surfers often want to go for the surf guiding to hit all the best spots at their peak. On the other extreme, there are lots of our guests who are learning to surf and keen to get the basic lessons on calm, safe, sandy beaches. These guests need to opt for our surf lessons package. Finally, we have plenty of guests that are in the intermediate phase, where they do not want to pay for surf lessons, but still want to be part of the group and get all the benefits of being taken to the best conditions. These people should opt for the “just beach drop off option”.

SURF MATERIALS

We will provide everything you need, but if you have your own boards then bring them all. Our region has absolutely every kind of wave so bring the boards that suit what you want to ride and according to your ability. Boards, wetsuits are all included in the full package price if you don't fancy the perilous baggage handlers. Please check carefully to see exactly what you get with the package you are paying for.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

There are plenty of things to see and do around this great southern region. Options include horse and camel rides along the beach, a visit to the Immouzer waterfalls enjoying a picnic in the afternoon sun or for the more adventurous why not hire out some quad bikes and rip through the mountains with a guide.
