Awesome Surfaris Surf Camp was one of the best weeks of my life. The accommodation was so relaxing, the days were filled with catching awesome waves, and the nights were filled with music and dancing.
And can we talk about the food? The meals we ate were so delicious and I wish someone cooked for me like that all the time. I had never surfed before in my life and was up on the board within the first hour out there. The staff are amazing; so friendly and the guides make you feel comfortable out in the water.... Great for families, groups, or even going solo. We were introduced to the other people in the camp and felt like we were sort of a big family. ?I would definitely go back and recommend surfaris if you want to have one of the best weeks of your life.

great surf camp I got a private room and paid a bit extra, the motel rooms are really nice and comfortable. share accomodation is good to but i liked my own space. It is great how you can have a group of people with different surf skills. In the group their were beginners and some more advanced, all are catered for.
Early mornings of waking up and watching the sunrise then surfing is magic. The food, accomodation, staff and surf lessons are all delivered at a high standard at Surfaris. I have been on other surf camps and highlight Surfaris as the best. Its not a party camp, a real surf camp with all your focus on getting the best waves for the day.
Yoga we did on the beach and back at the lodge - a must do to relax your muscles, I loved the place and will be back soon. Thankyou Rossco.

What a week! Accommodation was fantastic. So enjoyed my 5 days at Surfaris. Had surfed only twice before, thought i would give it another go while in australia. Chose Surfaris as it was recommended and has been around for over 20 years. These guys know what they are doing. Up early in the morning out all day and surfing at a variety of spots. The weeks conditions were perfect. My best memory was endless right handers (surf jargon i learnt !!!!!) at BigHill. All the equipment is quality, food is excellent and I recommend Surfaris to anybody who wants to learn to surf.

LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS
Surfaris is situated at Crescent Head, half way between Sydney & Byron Bay and boasts the most uncrowded surf beaches in NSW, a fabulous surfing zone, making the area particularly suitable for our learn to surf & surfing customers. Surfaris holds a range of National Park and Council licenses, these many locations have breathtaking settings, amazing headlands, golden sands, lagoons, bush tracks and abundant wildlife including Dolphins, Kangaroos, wallabies, bird & aquatic life.
CAMP CHARACTER
At Surfaris you set your own pace. Wake in the morning to YOGA, surf all day, with structured lessons both practical and theory. Start an afternoon game of volleyball or head to the local Tea-Tree lake to wash away the salt. Go to bed early or stay up to enjoy one of our live music nights. The options are endless and its all about the surf experience.

The Surfaris Surf Camp is nestled amongst 15 acres of bush land opposite the beach, creating the prefect retreat to relax, put your feet up and enjoy a cold drink after a gratifying day of SURFING. We offer shared dorm accommodation or 3 star private self contained rooms. The option to upgrade is also available. We are located on the east coast of NSW, half-way between Sydney and Byron Bay in the coastal surfing village of Crescent Head. Our remote location in National Parks is renowned for its world-class surf breaks, beautifully ancient land, breathtaking seascapes, and abundance of wildlife. We have an experienced and qualified massage therapist at the Camp and you can access these additional services anytime.

SURF COURSE DETAILS
When learning to surf with Surfaris, we teach you more than just the basics. We teach you what it means to become a surfer. From ocean awareness, swell forecasting, wind patterns & tides, to surfboard design, surf etiquette and of course – riding waves. As a complete novice you will start at the beginning, and be given a helping hand in the water. But as the days go by, you will be able to gain the skills to go surfing independently on your own. You will spend full days, on the beach and in the water, focusing on the theory and practice of surfing, each day gaining more ocean knowledge, developing your board skills and your understanding of the ocean. Our coaches will be surfing with you every step of the way.
If you have surfed before and know what you are doing, Surfaris Surf Camp is the perfect place for you. This stretch of coast we have access to at Crescent Head is one of the "must surf" destinations on the planet, with countless uncrowded breaks.
SURF MATERIALS
Surfaris Surf Camp is constantly mobile, traveling around the many national parks. We are always surfing the best waves of the day which means your progression will be at it's peak. Our customers have the option to advence form SOFT BOARDS TO HARD BOARDS during the week as we assess and instruct your skills.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Yoga
For the early risers we offer morning yoga. Energize your body and calm your mind in preparation for the day ahead, this is the perfect compliment to surfing. We focus on basic postures, deep breathing, relaxation & meditation.
Wildlife
By joining us at Surfaris you will be contributing to the conservation of our beautiful coastal National Parks and the amazing wildlife within them. And in turn we are granted exclusive access to surf the beautiful beaches they offer. We are regularly surfing with dolphins and the whales are amazing through the Winter and Spring seasons. There are plenty of Kangaroos, Dingoes and a wonderful array of Bird life.This area has a very ancient Aboriginal Culture with Caves and Beautiful Secret Beaches to discover.

JOURNEY
Ways to get to the camp
Catch a train or bus to Kempsey and we will come and pick you up in a courtesy vehicle and return you to the station. Camper Vans, rental cars and all others welcome! When you arrive at the surf lodge you will hop on our bus or follow us in your car each day.
Half way between Sydney and Byron Bay is the town of Kempsey. Head to Kempsey on the Pacific Highway and take the turn off to Crescent Head. 15 minutes later you will enter Crescent Head. As soon as you see the “Welcome to Crescent Head” sign take your next left. (Belmore Road which becomes Loftus Road) follow this road for 3 kms and there we are on the left: Surfaris Surf Camp.
PACKAGE A - 3 Day Surf Camp - from 550$ per Person
Trips run all year. The waves on winter trips are awesome! All the trips depart and return from/to SYDNEY, BYRON BAY (depart Mondays 7:15 am) and NEWCASTLE.
This package includes:
You will depart from Sydney or Byron Bay on Monday morning at 7:15 am You will arrive at the lodge around 2 pm and will be out in the water surfing for the afternoon, possibly until the sun goes down. Surf all day Tues, half of Wednesday and after lunch you will depart the lodge heading up to Byron Bay or go back to Sydney.
All meals, accommodation, surf lessons & surf gear are set within the price of $550.
PACKAGE B - 4 Day Surf Camp - from 650$ per Person
Trips run all year. The waves on winter trips are awesome! All the trips depart and return from/to SYDNEY, BYRON BAY (depart Mondays 7:15 am) and NEWCASTLE.
This package includes:
Depart from Sydney or Byron Bay on Monday morning at 7:15 am You will arrive at the surf lodge in Crescent Head around 2 pm and begin surfing that afternoon. Surf all day Mon, Tues, Wed and half of Thursday. You will depart the lodge after lunch on Thursday and we get you back to Sydney or Byron that evening around 8 pm.
All meals, accommodation, surf lessons & surf gear are set within the price of $650.
PACKAGE C - 5 Day Surf Camp - from 750$ per Person
Trips run all year. The waves on winter trips are awesome! All the trips depart and return from/to SYDNEY, BYRON BAY (depart Mondays 7:15 am) and NEWCASTLE.

This is our most popular trip, you will depart from Sydney or Byron Bay on Monday morning at 7:15 am You will head to our surf camp in Crescent Head, halfway between Byron Bay and Sydney. You will arrive at our lodge around 2pm and will be out in the water surfing for the afternoon, possibly until the sun goes down. Surf all day Tues, Wed, Thur & Fri morning. After lunch on the Friday around 2 pm, you will depart and return back to Sydney or Byron Bay. Arriving in either location around 8 pm. All meals, accommodation, surf lessons, surf gear are set within the price of $750.
PACKAGE D - Flexible Stay Surf Course - from 840$ per Week / Person
PRICE: $120 PER DAY
Get yourself here - Catch a train or bus to Kempsey and a courtesy bus will pick you up and return you to the station. Minimum of 2 nights stay. Enjoy great food, comfy accommodation, professional surf lessons with modern surf equipment all in the price. You can stay as long as you like & pay the daily rate. Camper Vans, rental cars and all others welcome! When you arrive at the surf lodge you will hop on our bus or follow us in your car each day.
