LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

Our unique location allows us to have an easy access to the best Surf spots. Considered the place with the largest Swell window direction and the place with more regular offshore winds. We can choose two distinct types of coast; West and South, searching the best surf spot. All our classes, usually take place at Tonel Beach in Sagres. However, as we don't want our customers to come to Sagres and don't get know what Sagres as better to offer, beach's. So, we can choose beaches with the best conditions for activity, located in the coast between Amoreira beach (Aljezur) and beach of  Meia-Praia (Lagos).

We have students of all ages, from 6 years to no age limit. As long the physical ability it's ok,  will be sufficient, we are delighted to introduce you the surfing sensations. In Wavesensations - Sagres Surf School, we believe in creating something for everyone, like Group Surf Lessons, Private Lessons Surf, Surfing Rentals, Surf Accompaniment, Surf Safaris, Surf Repairs, classes for kids, and more.

SURF COURSE DETAILS

We want to offer a personalized service to our clients and with high levels of teaching. Any Surf activity have their own level of learning according who will be trained. In Wavesensations - Sagres Surf School our team is incredibly motivated and trained, to daily we can help you learn and feel the surf Sensations!
A surf session is made up of small details. Because the details make the difference and that can define the quality. The Wavesensations provides a set of services which promise make the difference. Will be small details or privileges, came to find the difference. 
Our Surf Instructors are certified surfers by the Portuguese Surfing Federation, encompassing knowledge of the various beaches of Sagres, ensuring thus a high degree of safety in all sessions. In addition, the Wavesensations is also recognized by the Portuguese Surfing Federation (FPS) and the Tourism of Portugal (IP).

The first Surf Lesson teaches you the basics of surfing,, rules, security,  learn to stand up on the board, float in the foam zone (inside), keeping always with the highest level of security, while having endless moments of fun. If you want to progress and surfing on the outside and catch the best waves, so need more lessons. Usually 4-5 days Surf are sufficient to learn the basics and be able to adventure out alone and learn to surf in the outside. However, also this number days depends on several factors, for example, physical conditions, surfing, wind, and tides, etc.

Our classes start at 10:30 and end about 17:00. With two sessions Surf for 1h:45min, respectively, morning and afternoon. Since the meeting in our Surf Center is about 30 minutes before the start of classes. That way we have time to choose all the material and the beach to teach the classes.

SURF MATERIALS

We use appropriate boards for beginners. This ones are made of foam and flexible fins, called "softboards." We also have a wide choice of other boards to higher levels of Surf. We use wetsuits of varying thicknesses, so you can always surf with the greatest possible comfort. However, if you have your own material, of course you can use it!
After any surf course, we ask to you to deliver all equipment. However, if you want, you can rent equipment to practice by yourself, we can provide to you easily.

Characterization of surroundings/region

We describe Sagres with deserted beaches, untouchables unique landscapes , living nature (sunsets, moonrise, natural/flora breaths), all complemented with a rich historical heritage of historical significance. Sagres is located in the Natural Park of Costa Vicentina contains about 80 km and 76000 hectares of natural landscape and with more than 100 species of flora taken as endemic, rare , and a significant number of endangered animal species. It is possible to observe eagles, lynx, otters, foxes, hedgehogs and more. Do you will feel the fragrance of plants, mixed with the intense smell of salty air. The Sagres Region has more than 25 beaches for all tastes will find their inner beauty and enjoy magic moments.

Ways to get to the camp

The closest airport to Sagres is in Faro, about 100km from our location. From Faro you can catch a bus or a train, it takes about 1h30m to Lagos. From the bus station or train stop in Lagos we offer the transfer to Sagres; you only need to let us know about your arrival time and we'll be there to pick you up. 
Another airport is in Lisbon, this is 320km from Sagres and there are buses and trains to the south of Portugal.
Porto is the airport furthest away, around 600km from Sagres, if you want to know Portugal you can start from Porto; you can take a fast train from Porto to Lagos or bus and then and we will pick you up at Lagos.
There are several airlines and low cost companies flying into Lisbon, Porto or Faro, you should be able to find some good options.

CAR

It's one of the options you have. Pick up your car and get here! 

From Lisbon
Take the A2 towards the Algarve.  At the end of the A2 take the Via do Infante (A22): direction Portimão.  Exit the second exit to Lagos direction Vila do Bispo.  At the second roundabout then right towards Sagres.  In Sagres, turn left at the  roundabout  of the Fortress (3rd Exit)  Skip Ancora Roundabout, take the Avenida Comandante MAtso, turn left on Rua Patrão António Faustino (Rua Dom Sebastião).  We're the Big Blue House.

From Faro
