ABOUT THE SURF CAMP
SURF CONDITIONS
The Mentawais are considered to be one of the most consistent and diverse surfing destinations on the planet. There is no other place on earth with so many high quality waves in such a small area. Between April and October the Islands get constant swells. Waves are mostly in the three to six foot range depending on the spot. Our SURF PACKAGE costs 50 USD per day per person and includes 2 daily speedboat surf sessions, morning and afternoon, with our experienced surf guide. Not including the Mentawai Surf Tax. 70% of the waves in the Mentawais can be accessed within 1 hour by speedboat from Aloita with some of the best ones located right in our own backyard. Telescopes is only 10 minutes away! Tikus, a forgiving though ripable uncrowded left hander, is 5-10 minute walking distance from the resort and it is suitable for all levels, including beginners. Telescopes, Tikus, G4, Hookers, Icelands, Ombak Tidur, Suicides, Twiggies, Scarecrows and Seven Palms are the most regularly surfed by our guests. Playground area and HTs are reachable at an extra charge. We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to be so close to such a wide variety of waves, suiting all levels.

HOW TO GET THERE
1. Getting to/from Padang
currently the best way to fly to Padang is via Jakarta/Bali with Garuda or Lion Air or via Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia. Singapore is also an option. Please check: www.airasia.com / www.garuda-indonesia.com / www.lionair.co.id Once in Padang Airport you have two options Let us take care of you by choosing our TRANSFER PACKAGES or reach a hotel, spend the night and the following morning at 6:00 am take the Mentawai Fast ferry to Tua-Pejat. Accommodation in Padang is not included in the Aloita room rate. If you plan to book by yourself please consult us on choosing correct dates and travel times in order to accommodate the Mentawai Fast ferry schedule. If you wish for us to take care of all your ground transfer arrangements choose one of our TRANSFER PACKAGE options. Once in Padang, you’ll be met by our crew who will take care of the rest : Airport pick up, drop off at the Hotel and everything in between.
2. Getting to/from the Mentawais
The Mentawai Fast ferry is the safest and most reliable transport available. it departs from Padang every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:00 am and arrives in the Mentawais around 9:00 am. On the way back the Mentawai Fast Ferry departs from the Mentawais every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:00 pm and arrives in Padang around 6:00 pm.
3. Getting to/from Aloita Resort
At the harbor you’ll be met by our crew who will take you to our resort which takes about 10 min. Usually by 10:00 am you are already checked-in and ready to go explore or surf.
