Summary

The school is a project created by local people that comes from a simple idea: making our passion a way of life. In this way, we want to convey the importance and value of all the things the sea has given to us during such a long time and also the deep respect and admiration we feel for it.

The school is located at a privileged area, the tourist area of Caleta de Fuste, which is just 5 minutes away from the airport. Therefore, if you come on holidays to the island and you are planning to make the most of your time surfing and visiting Fuerteventura, you are in the right place. You’ll enjoy a great advantage when it comes to transport and moving around the area, since the distances from a key point to another will be much shorter.

Our aim is to teach you surfing in an easy, amusing and safe way under the guidance of our local instructors, so you can improve your skills or manage to surf by yourself. All this in an enjoyable environment and supported by the experience and knowledge of our qualified professionals.

The island has spots with high quality waves all year long, whether for advanced surfers or beginners, what makes it a paradise for all those, who want to go surfing.

ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

Fuerteventura is located in the Atlantic Ocean. At 1,660 square kilometers (641 sq mi) it is the second largest of the seven islands the Canary archipelago (Spain) comprises. It is also the oldest island and it is only 90 km (56 mi) away from Africa, what makes its landscape and climate strongly influenced by this continent’s. The quality of its atmosphere and nature made the UNESCO designate the island a Biosphere Reserve (2009).

The island has an arid subtropical climate with an average annual temperature of 20 °C (68 °F).

Together with Lanzarote, Fuerteventura is the most exotic island of the archipelago due to the aridity and erosion of its landscape.

Especially worth mentioning are its beaches, ranked among the best in Europe and, with no doubt, among the best of the whole Canary archipelago. Clear and turquoise waters, white and black sands and kilometers of lonely beaches, made an acclaimed director such as Ridley Scott decide to film part of its film Exodus in Fuerteventura.

Furthermore we shall not forget that Fuerteventura is a paradise for water sports. Surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing (Windsurfing and Kiteboarding World Cup takes place in Fuerteventura every year), SUP, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving get most benefit of the island’s privileged conditions which make it a great place to practice these sports all year long.

Our gastronomy makes it also well worth a visit. Natural products of the land such as goat’s milk cheese (awarded the best in its category in Spain), ‘papas arrugadas’ (wrinkly potatoes boiled in water after being cleaned but not peeled) with ‘mojo picón’ (spicy sauce made with garlic, cayenne peppers, cumin, vinegar, olive oil and salt) ‘Majorero’ tomatoes (original tomatoes from Fuerteventura) and fresh fish, together with its delicious pastry and confectionery, will surely give your palate a wonderful and healthy experience.

The kind and open nature of the people has coexisted for years with the main driver of economic growth, tourism, which has led to the development of a great variety of infrastructures aimed at meeting accommodation and service needs.

Regarding culture, it is important to highlight that the island is awash with festivals, events and celebrations all year round, from Carnival to local festivities of each municipality.

In short, Fuerteventura is a peaceful and mystic island of a great climate, a paradise for water sports that is very close to the European continent, just 4 hours away by plane. It greatly deserves to have been considered for centuries one of the Fortunate Isles. Ah!, remember that here we live one more hour!

SURF COURSE DETAILS

The lessons are provided by qualified instructors with their respective official certifications. They will train you and give advice to you, so you are well informed about choosing materials properly and the conditions of the different spots in case you want to surf by yourself.

Lessons are offered every day of the year, always seeking the best conditions of the day and tailoring them to your level needs in order for you to make progress in a fast, enjoyable and safe way. That is the reason why we chose to locate the school in the best Fuerteventura’s beaches to learn how to surf. These beaches will help you make progress and put into practice the basic surfing fundamentals in a much faster way than any other beach of the island, since the characteristics of this spots are the best ones to keep improving and have fun; this way you will enjoy a greater quality session.
