Surfing has been part of Peniche's daily lifestyle for the last decade or so. Records of foreign surfers date back to the mid 1960's. Nowadays the region is Portugal's main surfing area and although there's no large urban centre it is considered by many the true Portuguese surf capital. The variety of surf spots available providing unique consistency in Portugal but also the ASP World Tour Championship presence in October are two of the main reasons for this claim.

In modern times, and given its declining fishing activities, Peniche County has rather turned to horticulture and fruit cultivation, and to tourism. With the best location in Portugal to surf this sport and generally the ocean plays an important role in this region's and Peniche's future.

These semi dettached villas are ideal for families, couples or guests wanting accommodation of higher quality.

Classes won’t have more than 8 students to every two-person (surfing instructor and surfing assistant) team.  You’ll make fantastic progress with all that attention and personalized service.
At our surf camp, you’ll have classes twice a day, for approximately 2 hours each. Classes start on Monday and end on Friday. The weekends are yours.

Ideal for companies, stag or hen parties, school groups, event-organising companies.
 
Family course – by enrolling 2 or more children from the same family (own children, cousins, nephews and nieces) on a weekly course, we offer a class for free to one of the parents or to the person in charge of the family.

Our Surf Equipment includes over 80 surf boards at your disposal, in sizes varying between 5’6’’ and 9´2´´. We stock various brands such as BIC and NSP, i.e., reinforced plastic boards and epoxy boards, in addition to conventional fiberglass and epoxy surf boards. Thus, we can make shortboards, malibus, and longboards available to you in various sizes and thicknesses, and therefore, you will easily be able to find a board that suits your level of skill.

Furthermore, you can use a board with higher volume and float during the first few days, and you can then switch to a smaller, more manoeuvrable board afterwards.
If you are an experienced surfer and have been surfing for a long time but do not want to carry your board over on the plane, tell us what type of board you normally use and we will organise you a board suitable for your characteristics.

If you feel tense, tired or just need a relaxing massage, Baleal Surf Camp offers you a perfect option with Zuzana, the camp's massage therapist.
She has a certification in sportsmassage which:

- is a good way to  recover fast from surfing
- is the most effective therapy for releasing muscle tension
- is a therapy to restore balance to the musculo-skeletal system
- stimulates circulation of blood and lymph fluids
- returns the body to health
- allows yourself to let go of stress and fatigue (pure relaxation)

JOURNEY

---

Guests that booked one of our packages and traveling by bus to Peniche have shuttling from/to Baleal guaranteed by the camp, for free from 10:00 to 18:45.

We can organize an optional Lisbon airport – Baleal & Baleal – Lisbon airport transfer service, subject to confirmation. This service to be paid for in cash on arrival if booked posterior to the reservation or pre paid during reservation.
In order to avail of this service, you’ll have to supply us with your flight number, carrier, and arrival and departure times and one mobile phone number. That information is to be supplied with your booking form or per mail if service is requested after the main reservation has been already confirmed.

Other important informations to be supplied; if children (and their age) are traveling, special volumes (surf boards et cetera), animals, impaired individual.

Groups booking and travelling together may share the transfer and price (up to 7 to 8 people depending on car availability).

Note: Guests that booked transfer(s) may have to wait to a maximum of 2h if arriving and departure of different shuttles overlap schedules. Should waiting period be longer BSC refunds 50% of the amount. If guests fail to show up for pickup/delivery of shuttle amounts will be fully charged.
