Summary

We are a Surf School and Surf Camp based in the west coast of the Algarve of Portugal in a village called Odeceixe that sits inside a Natural Park ( Protected area) and we have been teaching people to surf since 2003.

We are always updated on the latest coaching methods and our instructors are professionals accredited by the Portuguese Federation of surf and Life Guards by the I.S.N institution. We provide all levels available and only practice in safe conditions.

The surf shop is one of the biggest in the Algarve and supports the Discovery Surf School and Surf Camp with several big promotions throughout the year and is situated close to the surf camp and we will gladly take any of our clients there if need be.

The Surf Camp is surrounded by plums, peaches, and other fruit trees with nothing but open land and a river. Whilst enjoying your breakfast you will see all this breath taking nature including palm trees and hear nothing but the birds and the wind. It is close to Odeceixe beach, Amoreira beach and about 5 minutes to a camping site where there is always other activities of all kinds. Odeceixe has wonderful food, art, festivals near by, and a great local scene.

Learning to surf is one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences you can have with Mother Nature . No matter what your ability there is a wave out there for everyone!

On the Surf Safaris the Discovery Surf School and Surf Camp will take you to the best surf zones, were you will find amazing surfing spots away from the crowds and in safe conditions, good for beginners or experienced surfers alike.

We have qualified staff watching over you at all times and will be happy to teach you the basics of surfing and have a great Surf Camp experience.

We rent all surf and body board material at the Surf Camp in Odeceixe or we can meet you on an alternative beach of your/our choice. At the surf camp Canoe rentals are also available to go down the river to the beach near the village or kayaks for solo riders. The river is beautiful and presents you with Mother Nature at its best, with easy access and only the sounds of the birds and wind to accompany you on the still water with breathtaking scenery, a great adventure and memory that you won't soon forget.

Location and surf conditions

The Surf Camp is surrounded by plums, peaches, and other fruit trees with nothing but open land and a river. It is close to Odeceixe beach, Amoreira beach the surf is medium to big waves in the winter and medium average in the summer 1m to 1.5m surf spots ? Loads!!!

Camp operator

Team is composed with several members, all as a big family.

Couch Marco as been surfing since 1992. He as been into soccer, gymnastics, but concentrating mainly on surfing and partaken in many surfing championships. So he took is passion and he is founded the Discovery Surf School and Surf Camp in 2003 in Portugal.

The surf camp is also prepared for any kind of travelers, backpackers and even experienced surfers and all things are provided fully equiped kitchen etc.

We rent any kind of surfing equipment needed and also have canoes or kayaks available for anyone looking to do something different and of course don´t forget to check the our promotions.

Odeceixe is a small relaxed villa in the west border of the Algarve and Alentejo a very unique look with it´s natural flavours near also to few restaurants but they are famous for quality vs price .

JOURNEY

Ways to get to the camp

directions : once you are in Portugal we can do the tranfers ourselves ( all inclusive pack) but in case you are driving or not you have the ( A22) that´s the highway in the Algarve but tolls are applied ,if you dont want to pay go to the ( N 125 road) and then find your direction to Lagos and then to Aljezur and keep driving on ( N120) till Odeceixe,we will be here waiting for you.
