Our surf camp is located in a beautiful country house and was recently refurbished. Here you can find our surf school, our surf bar that is located in our beautiful and ample garden. Here you can taste a good glass of Portuguese wine to the sound of nature. Our surf camp is for over 18 years and is ideal for individual travelers, groups or families, where animals are valid through prior consultation. Our surf camp/hostel has the highest ranking in Europe on the world's largest booking site.

Estela Surf & Hostel is a project created by a couple of local surfers Marco and Raquel. They both travel the world, always looking for perfect waves. Marco is a certified surfing coach since 1998 and was regional surfing champion several times throughout the area, as well as Raquel. Marco and Raquel will help with the waves and make your stay surrounded by magic.

Come and grab your seat at one of the best surfing camps in Portugal. Yes we are talking about Estela Surf & Hostel.It is a surf camp run by a local-friendly couple of local surfers. The camp is located in the quiet village of Estela, 20 minutes from Oporto airport and 10 minutes from cultural cities like: Póvoa de Varzim, Vila do Conde or Esposende.
The country house consists of 4 rooms, of which 2 are shared and 2 double. There are 2 shared individual bathrooms and 1 shared, plus 1 service toilet. At your disposal, choose 2 equipped kitchens and one of them has a dining room with a very pleasant view of the garden, providing very relaxing and quiet moments. Here, they serve breakfast. The reception, where you can get all the information you need during your stay at Estela Surf & Hostel, is at the Terrace Bar, where you can always enjoy a good wine, a cocktail or a snack. The living room with fireplace, TV, sofas and is complete with dining area. Stela Surf & Hostel also offers the opportunity to enjoy all your gastronomy; from fresh fish, healthy snacks, and Portuguese cuisine made with the best local products and with great affection.
This camp is well known for its surf schooling, hygiene, convivial atmosphere and other facilities.

Surfing is a great way to be in touch with the sea and get in shape while having fun. All the classes starts with a fun warm-up. Instructors will take you to the best location of the day according to the level and help you achieve your goals. They will analyze your improvements, correct your technique and share knowledge about the ocean. If you want to start in this passionate sport or want to improve your skills, Estela Surf & Hostel will provide you with a pleasant environment and guarantee you maximum professionalism. We use wetsuits and softboards of the best quality, with various sizes and sizes to give maximum comfort and to make learning much faster. For advanced surfers we ask for the weight, height and level of surf to reserve the most suitable surfboard.

Surfing seasons in Portugal:

Portugal is a waving magnet. With a coastline facing west and south, it originates each wave in a direction. In fact, a Stela is a surfing goal for the whole year, but each season has its own peculiarities. For newbies, the best time to go is in the summer, between May and September. This is where the waves are less incessant and the waves are smaller. Note that the best known surfing sites are busy during the summer, especially in July and August.

For more experienced surfers, the most constant surfing can be found between the months of September and April. Winter is eminent for its incredible swells, that overwhelming waves that must be left for cutting-edge surfers. Fortunately, there are some protected places where amateurs or surfers in forming a feeling of safety, even in winter.
