SURFING IN PARADISE
From October to July, it’s possible to learn to surf with us or to just rent one of our 20 surfboards (from 5,8 to 9 feet) and go have some fun! We are happy to live directly in front of a point break and a beach break, to give you the opportunity to surf as much as possible during your stay. No matter what’s your level, the waves are perfect for beginners, intermediates, and advanced surfers. The best thing about our location is the 15-point breaks that we can reach within less than 15 minutes of driving.

ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

We are located in a small fishing village close to Playas, Ecuador. Puerto Engabao is located in the south of Ecuador and receives North and South Swells. There is consistent surf all year long.

CAMP CHARACTER

We are a very small camp, a family vibe is very important to us. Come visit, you will make new friends for sure!

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

You will be sharing a stylish, newly furnished room with three people in our hostel located right in front of a beach break in a small fishing village called Puerto Engabao, an authentic pueblo that will offer you a great time right in the middle of Ecuador’s best surf spots.

You can also get an upgrade to a private room, we offer rooms for two to four people.

Private rooms are also available. Option with or without bathroom.

CATERING

Breakfasts
Every morning you will be able to choose between 3 delicious and rich breakfast options, which offer the perfect start to a new day.
Dinners
Every evening we have a group dinner together with all our guests. Our cooks will treat you with delicious and diverse vegetarian cuisine, made of carefully selected and fresh, locally grown ingredients.

SURF COURSE DETAILS

1 Theory Class
To ensure that you will have a safe and complete surfing experience, this theory class provides you with the necessary knowledge to feel comfortable in the water and have a great time!
3 Surf Lessons
These personalized surf lessons will give you the opportunity to either learn a new sport that quickly becomes your passion, or our surf coaches will help you to improve your riding skills. To help you to progress during the time of your stay, we will teach you in small groups of a similar level.

SURF MATERIALS

Board rentals
During your whole stay at our hostel, you will have access to a large variety of surfboards that allow you to enjoy a mellow beach break or a world-class point break within walking distance. We offer surfboards from 5’8 up to 9’0 to suit every rider's level and skills.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Yoga
We believe that the combination of surfing and yoga is best for body and mind, and does not only improve flexibility and physical strength but also trains the ability to mindfully enjoy the present moment. Our six weekly classes are perfect for beginners who want to try Yoga for the first time and also for more experienced Yogis who enjoy their daily practice.
ADVENTURE
If you feel more adventurous than chilling in a hammock during your stay with us, There are lots of activities for you. We offer a day out in Playas, to visit the city, chill at the beach, surf or go dolphin watching. You also have the opportunity to go fishing and horseback riding. At the hostel, you can enjoy plenty of free activities from volleyball, to slacklining, washers, ping pong or just relaxing at the pool.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE). We can organize a private taxi from the airport for 70 USD.

Arrival by bus

From terminal Terrestre de Guayaquil, take the direct bus to Playas, which usually leaves every 30 minutes. Watch out, the last bus leaves at 8 p.m. (if you miss it, you will easily find a taxi). Once you are in Playas, ask how to reach Puerto Engabao or take a taxi for 7 to 10 USD to the hostel.
