ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

Long Island Surf School & Clinic is based in Corralejo, north part of the Island, one of those special places on the planet where the nature provides us with many surf spots and good waves in all sizes and types for different levels.

CAMP CHARACTER

You will learn to surf in a relaxed atmosphere. We place it worth learning its Sufen safely and with fun. In the evening you will certainly get to know many surfers.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

The complex has 16 apartments located in a privileged area to the beach in the village of Corralejo. A dream  view over the entire Bay, the island of Lanzarote and our neighbouring island of Lobos.
There are 100 meters to the supermarkets, shops, pubs, restaurants and others. The building has one reception, 2 swimming pools (one for adults and the other for children). Hammocks are free.                       
Apartments are with 1 or 2 bedrooms, one living-room with a bed and TV, balcony or terrace all with sea view, bathroom, complete kitchen with two ring ceramic, microwave cooker, fridge/freezer, electric kettle, coffee maker and toaster.

Weekly:5 times cleaning, 3 times towels change, 1 sheet change.

ROUND HOUSE - Surf Camp

The Round house Surf camp is located in Corralejo and is on walking distance from the main street, small shopping centre “El Campanario” and only 2 minutes walk from “Rocky Point” one of the best surf spots in Corralejo!! Round House is an ideal place to meet and mingle with other travellers and surfers. The House has rooms to share with bunk beds and rooms with a double bed, it has a great outside area to enjoy the sun and to have nice BBQ’s, there is a big kitchen where to cook your meals, a living area with television, 3 bathrooms and Wi-Fi

SURF CLUB ROCKY POINT

Surf club Rocky Point is situated just behind the beachfront, with stunning views over Lanzarote and the small island of Lobos; it is right in front of Punta Elena, one of the best surfing areas in Corralejo, also known as “Rocky Point”. The villa is large and bright, has three floors, five rooms and three bathrooms. There are three double rooms and two quadruple rooms with a total capacity for 14 people.   

Majanicho room
Quadruple room with two bunk beds. Built-in wardrobes and shelves. It is on the basement of the house right next to a bathroom, which is shared with another room. The room is connected to the common area.

Cotillo room
Quadruple room with two bunk beds. Built-in wardrobes and shelves. It is on the basement of the house right next to a bathroom, which is shared with another room. The room is connected to the common area.

Esquinzo room
Private room with two single beds. Large built-in wardrobe. Opposite a bathroom that is shared with the other double room. The room is on the ground floor and it is connected to the main entrance, the dining area and the kitchen.

Lobos room
Double room with two single beds together (double bed that can be separated if you want the beds for individual use). Big built-in wardrobe. Opposite a bathroom that is shared with the other double room. The room is on the ground floor and it is connected to the main entrance, the dining area and the kitchen.

Montaña Roja room
Private room with double bed and a big built-in wardrobe. Private bathroom and terrace. The room is on the top floor of the house and it is connected to the chill-out terrace.

VILLA REZON SURF CAMP

Villa Rezon is a villa near the beautiful El Campanario shopping centre.

The Villa has three floors and consists of four rooms. Two rooms are to share with bunk beds and two are private bedrooms. The Villa has 3 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, common rooms, terraces and it has a garden with swimming pool where you can relax or barbecue after you surf sessions!

Villa Rezon is a good choice for those who travel alone or with friends and who want to share the surfing experiences on Fuerteventura.

The villa is a 10-minute walk from the town centre and close to supermarkets, bars and other services such as: the bus station or the new Skate park which is just behind the village. There is a bicycle rental directly from the House, you can bike to the centre or the dunes and the most beautiful beaches of Corralejo.

CATERING

Depending on your accommodation there is a breakfast buffet. Every accommodation has a kitchen for self catering.

SURF COURSE DETAILS

The courses we give are according to your individual learning, speed and needs. Our courses will evolve over the period that you are with Long Island Surf School & Clinic and we believe, even though we already coach in small groups, that every student has his own level. From the first day we make an analysis of your surfing skills and we create a coaching plan especially for you, always with a daily goal!

Our focus in the water will be on safety as well as proper surf etiquette, technique, style and lots of fun. You have to feel as comfortable as possible on your surfboard, that’s why we will be with you in the “water” to coach and guide you with patience, of course we will surf with you to inspire, demonstrate you and always in a coaching context.

At Long Island Surf School we tailor our courses to the individual needs of each pupil, weather you have never been on a board or want to brush up on your existing technique, we pride ourselves that you’ll attain greater skill and understanding of this glorious pursuit.

We are guarantee you the individual attention you deserve and I will take my time to make sure that every wave you catch is fun!!

MORE INFO, HOW TO GET THERE & FAQ

Fuerteventura has become a very popular destination for surfers and has the right waves for every skill level. The water temperatures are between 18 ° C and 23 ° C - a slight wetsuit for summer so enough - some even surf in just shorts. Autumn / Winter offer the best and most consistent conditions for surfing, although one finds throughout the year good surfing conditions. The time for windsurfing, however, is precisely the opposite, for this sport can be found in the summer the best conditions.

The best waves we have on the north track, a dirt road that runs along the coast between Corralejo and El Cotillo. Some of these waves can be dangerous, as the aptly named, suicides', and many of the local surfers can scar, by surfing on the rocky lava reefs, show. Other notable surfing spots on the island are El Cotillo (when the voting conditions), Playa de la Pared and the remote Punta del Tigre in the southwest of the island.

Crowd factor and local people

To converse with the locals is always a good idea (at least if your equipment and your bones will remain intact!) And the large number of surfers bars in Corralejo and El Cotillo are an excellent place to get some advice. Corky's Bar in Corralejo depends every morning a surf report, with wind conditions and advice regarding the best surf spots for the day.

Characterization of surroundings/region

Corralejo

Corralejo was once a small fishing village, but has now grown into a lively colourful town. We are lucky that Corralejo has managed to keep its original charm and atmosphere, and there are still white sandy beaches in the town centre, where you can relax and enjoy the Canarian sunshine.

Beaches

The most beautiful beaches of Corralejo are the white sandy beaches in the sand dunes nature reserve, which are located just beyond the town boundary and they stretch out for kilometre upon kilometre.

To the south of the old port there are two beautiful, wide beaches with fabulous views to the tiny island of Lobos. There is also a smaller beach nearby the harbour “muelle chico”. These beaches are perfect for families, with their shallow, crystal clear waters.

Around town

The old town of Corralejo is centred around the old harbour.  From there you can take pleasure trips to explore the rest of the island and also the ferry to the nearby islands of Lanzarote and Lobos.

The main street in the town is where you will find most of the shops, bars and restaurants; the streetleads down to the two Music Squares and into the harbour.

TAXI FROM FUERTEVENTURA AIRPORTO TO CORRALEJO

A direct taxi ride from the airport to Corralejo should take around 40 minutes and costs you approximately 50 euros.

BUS FROM FUERTEVENTURA AIRPORT TO CORRALEJO:

There are no direct busses from the airport to Corralejo.

FUERTEVENTURA AIRPORT TO PUERTO DEL ROSARIO:bus number 3.

bus number 3. Salinas is the beginning of this bus line and Puerto del Rosario (at the bus station) is the end.
There's a bus every thirty minutes, leaving on the hour and half past from 07h00 to 23h30.
Trip takes around 10 minutes and tickets cost approximately 1.45 €/person, one way.From Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo bus number 6.

From the bus station of Puerto del Rosario catch bus number 6 to Corralejo.

From Monday to Saturday buses leave every thirty minutes (on the hour and half past) and on Sundays and holidays buses leave on the hour from 07h00 to 22h00.
Trip takes around 40 minutes and tickets cost approximately 3,40€/persons one way.

Check-In: On arrival the check-in time is between 09:00 AM and 4:00 PM. If your room is not cleaned yet by arrival, it’s possible to leave the luggage at the Reception and you can use all facilities until your room is ready.

Check-Out: On departure day the checkout is at 11:00 AM. If you want to stay longer, please check the availability with reception; longer stay costs 25 € extra.

Safe: A safe is available in each apartment at a hire charge of 10€ per week.

The reception is open from: 9:00 AM -2:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
Saturday from 09:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Closed Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.

Other services and conditions: Night security is provided, Apartments are cleaned 5 days per week and towels changed 3 days per week. Linen are provided and changed weekly. No pets allowed
