The village of Kalpitiya is located on the shores of the Indian Ocean and the northernmost point of the Peninsula of Kalpitiya with strong winds during the wind seasons,   from May to October and from December to March.

Kalpitiya Lagoon with flat waters is ideal for beginners and freestyle enthusiasts.  Also, the Indian Ocean, which is separated from the lake by a small strip of the beach makes this lagoon the best choice to navigate between the waves with endless winds and sublime landscapes.

Hello! I am Ruben, a Spanish certified kitesurfing instructor and Margarita Village Kitesurfing School manager.  I have been living in Sri Lanka for long time and now I want to offer the best kitesurfing Sri Lanka expericence.

We are committed to guaranteeing your rest and comfort while offering a unique experience in a local style house and in an eco tropical environment.  Our Villa has 3 bedrooms, one equipped with a kitchen and a refrigerator. We also have four very charming tropical style chalets.  Have a unique experience in one of our chalets. These quality rooms have both attached bathrooms and an indoor garden with a natural shower.

Kalpitya is a destination for Kitesurfers which is growing very fast since this is the place you can find the best kitesurfing spots in Sri Lanka. Although more and more people come for kitesurfing on a daily, mass tourism has not yet arrived and the area is still to be developed in terms of tourism, making it a destination with a special beauty and with many kitesurfing spots to be discovered yet!

Characterization of surroundings/region

Margarita Villa is located in Setthawadiya neighborhood, between Kalpitiya town and the main spot for kitesurfing. We are just 5 min away from the beach and from the main town. From our place, you will also be very close to many interesting places, such as the fish markets, the Dutch fort or the historical church.
