7 day Surf & Yoga Camp
Explore Portugal and the best surf that Europe has to offer. Fill your days with surf lessons in the Atlantic, beach life, loads of sunshine, excursions to the amazing Sintra landmarks such as Cabo de Roca or the Pena Palace, activities and life music, ie good times on land and sea.
Use our light-filled, beautiful studio for your daily Yoga routine and our big, beautiful sandy gardens to relax on the sun loungers, swing in the hammocks or have a good volleyball game. With a guest kitchen and common room, outdoor dining area and bbq, we are ready to put you in holiday mode.
In our Sintra, Praia das Maçãs location we offer something for everyone. Good surf just on our doorsteps, the Yoga studio onsite. yYour holidays will be great! Our multi-lingual staff on land and sea will make you feel comfortable all day around. Our surf instructors have years of experience and strive to give you a safe and professional experience in the water. Our yoga teachers have equally long years in teaching and enjoy every day what they are doing. Just remember: Surfing in Portugal will be good fun for you.

ABOUT THE SURF CAMP
LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS
Our Oasis Sintra Surf and Yoga Camp sits right between a sandy pine forest and the two Sintra beaches of Praia das Maçãs and Praia Grande. It is a 7min walk from the camp to both destinations with fine, white sand where the waves are rolling in. At sunset you will have the most beautiful view with the sun disappearing into the sea.
CAMP CHARACTER
Our camp has a very relaxed style. In the morning we usually go for the surf lessons and in the afternoon we have our Yoga classes. In between that you will find enough time for a siesta in one of our many deck chairs or hammocks, enjoy a good book or go for a walk around this stunning coastline towards Cabo de Roca. The camp has a relaxed vibe, age 25-40 mostly.
CAMP OPERATOR
The Oasis Sintra Surf & Yoga camp is based inside the Aldeia da Praia, a former holiday colony for children of the Portuguese Railways since the 1940s.
ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING
ACCOMMODATION TYPES
Our holiday colony from 1940 has many different accommodation units to offer:
Glamping tents with shared / private bathrooms : Single tents, double tents, twin tents and family tents Hostel dorm room with ensuite bathroom (mixed and female rooms) Double, Single and Twin rooms in our Hostel
CATERING
We serve every morning a delicious vegan-friendly breakfast to start your day in a healthy, happy way.
Three times a week we invite you to a communal dinner here at the camp, the other nights we get together for live music here on site, some pizza or cook together in our communal kitchen.
SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES
SURF COURSE DETAILS
Usually we run our surf course in the morning. A maximum of 5 participants per surf teacher. Teaching language is usually english.
SURF MATERIALS
On the first day of our camp, we will have fitting directly at our surf base at the beach. You will be getting into your wetsuit and get the board according to your abilities. We have foam boards for beginners and fiberglass boards for intermediates and advanced surfers
OTHER ACTIVITIES
In the afternoon you will have your Yoga class in our beautiful Yoga room on site in the Aldeia da Praia Camp. The classes are included in the package and run from Mondays till Fridays. On Wednesdays, we organise a day trip according to your interests. This can be going to see Praia de Norte in Nazareh, or walk to Cabo de Roca over the cliffs on our dramatic coastline or go for a surf in Setubal, on the other side of the Tejo River. This day trips have an extra cost.

SURF CONDITIONS
Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots
We have a few beaches all with sand breaks in about 5-7 walking minutes from the camp
Seasonal conditions
You will need a 4-3 wetsuit if you are bringing your own. The Atlantic Ocean has a medium temperature around 18-22 degrees in the summer months.
Crowd factor and local people
We have lots of great locals surfing our beautiful waves but usually this happens more on the weekend and it heardly every gets crowded. We have long beaches with enough place in the water for everyone.

We are about 8.5km from Sintra's historic town full of monuments and world-heritage sites
Activities and facilities
Besides the Yoga, we offer a daily sun salutation on one of our exterior decks, as well as Qi Gong. In our health Spa Sana Maresia you can find acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Reiki, Shiatsu and other therapies.

From the airport you catch the train to Sintra and than get on the local but. Otherwise we can arrange airport transfer for you (45€)
