Arrive to a beautiful little peninsula in the middle of the pacific ocean. Waking up each morning surrounded by palm trees with the beach and a kitesurfing spot right in front of you while you sip your coffee and enjoy some fresh fruit in a hammock. Kitesurfing all day long and only stopping to eat some food that’s already been prepared for you. And if you ever get sick of kitesurfing, you jump in a car for 15 min and go surfing or hike up a near by mountain for a sunrise hike with amazing views over the area.
Sounds like a dream come true?

Features
We are open yearly from December until April and feel the best way to experience Punta Chame and the surrounding area is by staying for a few nights.
Punta Chame is Panamas main kitesurfing location and is receiving more international attention in the last years. During the Panama summer from December until April, the northerly trade winds blow consistently and get accelerated through local land breezes during the day. Summers are hot in Panama and water temperatures are pleasant with board shorts and bikini or a thin shorty wetsuit for mornings and evenings.
“After travelling and kitesurfing through South America in 2014, I sailed from Columbia to Panama via the San Blas Islands, where the idea for the original Panama Kitesurfing Cruise was born. A year later we were running kitecruises in the San Blas and started setting up a kitesurfing Guesthouse and Center in Punta Chame in Panama, where I met Ronja in 2016. Since then we have never stopped exploring and discovering new kitesurfing locations around the world. After running kite cruises in different locations over the past years, we have now found the perfect mix of sailing, adventure and kiting and now offer multiple locations around the world throughout the year.”

Staying with us means you have free access to use our Bikes, Sups and Kayaks any time.
Bikes:
Take the bikes for a spin through the fishing village and up to the point of Punta Chame. Visit the beautiful beaches on the other side of the peninsula or go for a longer ride exploring the surroundings of Punta Chame.
SUP Boards:
On calm days and with the tide being low, SUP boarding in the bay of Punta Chame is a relaxing activity. You can explore the coastline and the lagoons of Punta Chame from the water.
Kayak:
If you are up for an adventure, paddle over to John Waynes Island and stumble through the remains of John Wayne City and the old abandoned Hotel. Or explore the mangroves lining the coastline.
Day Trips
We run 2 day trips per week to show you the beautiful area around Punta Chame and mix up the kitesurfing a little. These trips are included in your stay with us and you can read all about the different tours below. It does not happen very often, but if we get a few days without wind, we will run more day trips to make sure you get your exercise in!
Surf Trip:
Chame Banks is about 10-15 min drive from the Kite House on the other side of the peninsula. During the windy season, we do get some swell there and the offshore wind turns even the smallest swell into perfectly shaped waves. The spot is good for all levels, and especially forgiving to beginner surfers. We have a range of soft and hard boards available, suitable for complete beginners up to advanced surfers (surf board rentals are included). Jump in our minibus with us and enjoy a nice surf session or just relax on the wild beach.
Sunrise Hike:
Every evening we marvel at the beautiful sun setting behind Cerro Chame. Apart from beautiful sunset photos, Cerro Chame also offers an amazing view of Punta Chame, the Surf Spot at Chame Banks and the Islands in the far distance. Join us for a sunrise Hike, leaving the kite house at around 5:30 to start the hike in the cool morning air. We will arrive on top after about 1.5-2h hike and enjoy the beautiful views before making our way down again.
John Wayne Island:
Isla Taborcillo, also known as John Wayne Island is an adventure, you do not want to miss. Take a boat over to the Islands and stumble through the remains of abandoned John Wayne City and the old Hotel. It feels like stepping back in time when wondering through the old post office, the museum and church and exploring all that has been left behind.
Canyons:
The Canyons are located about 45min drive from the Kite House. After a short walk you can enjoy swimming and jumping off the cliffs of the canyons or relax in the shade under some trees.
Main Kite Beach:
Right in front of the kite house is the giant sand beach with a prevailing cross-on wind direction. There is a significant tidal movement over the course of the day, with flattest conditions when the tide is lower and dropping. With an incoming tide, we get more waves. It is a great kite spot for all levels with varying conditions and lots of space.
Sand Bars:
Punta Chame becomes a world class flat water spot for a few hours either side of low tide around full and new moon, when the tidal range is the greatest. The sand bars stretch out from Isla Taborcillo, it is a great adventure to kitesurf over there, taking around 10-20 minutes or take our boat shuttle to the sand bars.
Lagoons:
The are a few lagoons in Punta Chame that are best at mid tide. There is a small one 5 minutes away from the guesthouse which is perfect to practice freestyle. If you keep heading down the beach for another 10 minutes kitesurfing you will get to the large lagoon (River mouth). There is a road downwind of this spot so its is only suitable for advanced riders.
