Katrina & Mauro own and operate the Surf N Stay New Zealand. They live on the premises with their two sons Taj and Sando. Kat is a Kiwi and Mauro is from Brazil. They met fifteen years ago in San Diego, California, both travelling and searching for perfect waves. They fell in love and moved to Brazil, where they opened their first Surf N Stay in Rio de Janeiro.

After eight years in Brazil where their first son was born, they kept their dream alive of expanding to other destinations and opened a Surf Camp in Whangamata, New Zealand.

Kat and Mauro teach surfing with a great passion for the sport and the local community and run the Surf N Stay, Adventure hostel, to let surfers and visitors from all around the world experience this beautiful part of the world with its surf breaks and natural wonders to explore.

Surf n Stay Whangamata is the ideal Location for a beach guest house with private and share rooms comfortable and affordable. Located one-minute walk from the beach and 10 minutes from all the main cafes in town, it’s a great place to base yourself when exploring the Coromandel Peninsula.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

We have designed special packages that combine surfing, yoga, equipment and accommodation to ensure that all of your needs are met during your time with us in this beautiful environment.

Our surf packages are tailored to suit your level. The yoga package might be your selection if you would like to surf, relax and unwind surrounded by our breathtaking environment. Whatever your selection, all packages include unlimited board hire so you can make the most of the water during your time with us.

Whether it’s board hire, lessons or booking a party. With our qualified instructors we can cater for all your needs.

YOGA: Weekly classes all year around. Yoga is the perfect complement for surfing in the Coromandel.

KAYAK: Experience a full learning experience about one of the most exotic locations in the Coromandel Peninsula.
