Here at TAKE Surf we offer so much more than a surf camp, we offer a complete experience for all levels. Here in the heart of Southern Spain the amazing weather, food, people, and of course, surf conditions, all provide the perfect opportunity to make a surf trip. We can turn your surf trip dreams into reality; the only thing you have to do is to come here and enyoy with us!
Our mission here is to share our passion for surfing with every person we come into contact with, our fantastic surf camps are the first step in helping us achieve this. Our priority is finding the best waves for all levels which is why we have multiple teaching sites and equipment hire locations. Our primary location (and where we usually get great waves) is our Surf School in El Palmar, and the surf camp packages include daily transfers between here and our maximum-comfort Hostel in Conil de La Frontera at no additional cost. Situated just 100m from the beach and walking distance to all the local restaurants, bars, cafes and shops, our hostel the perfect place to unwind after a days surfing.
At TAKE surf we've thought of everything to make your experience unforgettable. This includes our broad range of premium quality equipment to suit all levels, access to smoothstar surfskates to practice surf manoevers on solid ground, additional yoga classes, our on-site restaurant, bar and beach club, our knowledgeable and very friendly instructors and, exclusive video technique feedback and aquatic photography sessions allowing our students to visually identify any mistakes in the water as well as have tangible memories to take home.
Features
El Palmar - Our main teaching site is El Palmar Beach, Vejer. This is an exposed beach break that gets consistent rideable waves all year round thanks to its location and its perfectly sculpted sandbanks. Even on the smallest days we often see cruisey waves that are perfect for beginners, but when the bigger swells roll in brace yourselves for some gnarly overhead barrels (dependent on your competency, these days may be more enjoyable from dry land but luckily we have the perfect viewing spot from our rooftop terrace!!). The best part about El Palmar is its big open space, even on the busiest day of the year there is enough room and consistent waves for everyone in the water.
Conil - A mere 100m from the hostel we have Conil, another open beachbreak thats perfect for getting a little extra practice in after classes. It's a little more exposed to the elements and is often used as a kiting spot, but a 10 minute walk up the beach offers some more shelter and the opportunity for some nice uniform waves.
Los Caños - Los Caños is an idyllic bay with a lighthouse that with a favourable swell makes for some great surfing. On a good day Los Caños has been known to have up to 5 working spots, each a slow breaking powerful wave with long open walls which are perfect for practising your turns and speed generation techniques or having some fun on a longboard.
Other notable spots within close proximity are Fuente de Gallo, Fontanilla and Hierbabuena.
The team here is dedicated to creating the best atmosphere with something for everyone to enjoy, we have the capacity to host groups of any size (max 40pax) and family rooms available for anyone looking to take their kids on a fun getaway.
In addition to this we have a communal kitchen at your disposal in our hostel to prepare whatever food or snacks you might want to take along with you. However if you don't fancy yourself as a chef we have an on-site bar and restaurant in El Palmar that serves delicious, healthy and filling food at lunch and dinner time.
