At Damo Surf Camp, we are dedicated to providing everyone with the most advanced surfing techniques and equipment. We want to make this amazing journey completely unique. So, we are focused on a personalized way of teaching; knowing that everyone progresses at different levels. In doing so, our goal is to prepare you to be an independent surfer who is able to catch green, unbroken waves – one of the best feelings in the world!

All the activities we design are meant to show you the best surf training/exercises done by professionals; like yoga, surf-skate, video analysis, and more. We also include the most important sightseeing and adventures around the area so you won’t miss anything Costa Rica and Jacó has to offer!

You ?ll be staying in one of the top 10 best Surf Boutique Hostel/Hotel in the world and the best one in Costa Rica. Room2board is located right in front of one of main breaks of Jaco where we ?ll be doing our lessons and a short 5 min walk from downtown. You ?ll be received by its friendly laidback staff and enjoy the very comfortable common areas where you can meet people and make new friends!. We can accommodate you in luxurious Private Rooms with ocean view or Shared Dorms.

Damo Surf Camp. 

Our first surf lesson will consist of 30 minutes on surfing theory and water safety. Here, we’ll touch on topics such as conditions, tides, different kinds of waves and how to read them; i.e. wind, swell and signals. On the beach, we’ll go through a few drills to make sure you have a solid base and technique. Then it’s time to hit the water! 

Once we are in the ocean, every student will have personalized attention from our instructors to guide you through the process and help you catch your first waves! A unique and completely memorable experience. By the end of the lesson our goal is to have you be as independent as possible; knowing which waves to catch and how to stand up completely alone.

In your second lesson, we will keep teaching you how to read the conditions, how to get in and out of the water, ocean awareness, and how to maneuver your surfboard. Once you’re standing up, riding a wave is all about turning the board. Turning starts with your eyes. Wherever you direct your eyes, your body, and eventually your board, will follow. This is one of the most important aspects of the sport. And once you have it down, you’ll want to surf the best waves possible.

Your third lesson consists of learning surf etiquette. It’s very important to be respected and give respect in the water to those who are also having fun like us! So, we’ll give you the necessary knowledge to be able to paddle out, honor the priority system, catch an unbroken wave and then ride down the line!

All of our lessons last a total of 2 hours. And all of our experienced surf instructors will go above and beyond to make sure you stand up, surf and enjoy this ocean as much as possible.

Each lesson has a cost of $69 and all equipment is included.
