Get ready for ONDA’s first all-in surf camp here in Playa Grande! We’re stoked to invite you to join us in December for a week-long itinerary filled with great surf, local adventure, community building, good food, and pura vida! We’ll be based at our beautiful boutique hotel, complete with a pool and on-site bar and restaurant, just a 3-minute walk from our home beach.

Whether you’re a beginner ready to catch your first wave, or an experienced surfer seeking new challenges, our surf team has meticulously crafted an itinerary that guarantees an unforgettable experience.

For ONDA co-founders Billy and Bernie, travel is more than a passion, it’s their life. Having travelled the four corners of the globe, staying in hostels, villas, hotels and everything in between, they both had the same realization: the ideal accommodation for the modern day traveller doesn’t exist. ONDA was born out of the desire to provide a better way to travel, blending the community and social aspects of a hostel with the little luxuries of a hotel. And “ONDA”? Well that’s a Spanish word meaning ‘wave’ or ‘vibe.’ It’s commonly used in the expression “¿Qué onda?” meaning “What’s up?” Or used to refer to the feeling you get from a person, place, or experience. Our guests identify the vibe as being the single most important characteristic of a place to stay, and that’s why ONDA is so important to us, putting our guests and their experience before anything else. WATERFALL ADVENTURE
We’ll take a break from surfing to explore the beautiful La Leona Waterfall, a full morning adventure.

Local Finca Experience - $75
A truly Costa Rican cultural experience at a traditional Guanacastecan farm! This 3-hour tour includes a typical ranch breakfast, horseback riding, traditional ox cart rides, milking cows, and more. Experience how local farmers live here in the state of Guanacaste! Morning (8am) or afternoon (3pm) tours available.

ATV Adventure Tour - $85
Set off the beaten path and explore jungles, secluded beaches, and hidden roads in the area. Enjoy the views as you drive through forests and rivers to impressive viewpoints. A great way to explore the countryside and beautiful beaches around Tamarindo and Playa Grande!

Adventure Parks
ONDA works with some of the best adventure parks in the country. Choose from Zip lining, white-water tubing, hot springs, Tarzan swings, ocean activities, and animal sanctuaries. Send us a message and we’ll help you discover which park is best for you!

Sunset Catamaran Cruise - $90
The perfect addition to your dream tropical vacation: set sail on a relaxing snorkel sunset cruise, leaving from nearby Playa Flamingo. Glide along Costa Rica’s Gold Coast and take in the beautiful views of beaches, bays, and jungles. Booze, a light lunch, snorkeling, and snacks are all included!
