ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

From our terrace you can see 3 surf beaches right in front: Banana beach, K11 and K12. It’s only a 5 minutes walk from us and offers good waves for each level.

This doesn’t mean we surf here every day. We know the area by heart so we know where to find the best spots regarding the weather conditions and your level. Every day we go on surf safari to find the perfect surf spot to catch the best waves and avoid the crowds. 

At Ohana, you can come alone or with a group - Family, friends or even alone, you will experience the warm atmosphere and will feel like being in a big family.
The camp having a capacity of maximum 14 person simultaneously, this will allow you to share a lot with the other guests as well as with your host. Ohana will surely become your home away from home. 

Yassin, a 28-year-old certified surf instructor with an ISA license, hailing from the coastal town of Skhirat, near Rabat. Born and raised by the waves, Yassin has been riding them since the age of 14. Surfing isn't just a pastime; it's an insatiable passion, one that led him to become the esteemed Moroccans' number 3 pro surfer. 

Driven by the desire to share his love for the ocean and its enchanting waves, Yassin embarked on a journey to become a surf coach. For him, it's not just about teaching; it's about creating an experience that makes everyone feel like more than just another customer. This is why 'Ohana Surf Morocco' was born.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

At Ohana, you have the choice to book either a shared or a private room. The shared rooms can either be shared room of 4 or 2. For the private rooms, you can either have a twin or a double. And if you’d like to keep an eye on the ocean all day & night, you can always book the private room with balcony that has a wonderful sea view on Banana bay. All rooms have a shared bathroom and we lend bath towels to every guest. 

In the house, you will also have full access to the living room, the chill room, the terrace, the rooftop to chill after your surf sessions. You can access the wifi in all rooms and all common areas.

Our Surf Camp not only offers epic waves but also an incredible culinary journey. From sunrise to sunset, savor the tastes of Morocco with our delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner that are included in each package. 

Tantalize your taste buds with tagines, couscous and mouthwatering Moroccan specialties. Every meal is a delicious adventure waiting to be explored.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Every morning after breakfast the instructors will take you to the best spots to ride waves that will be adapted to your level. Beginners, intermediates or even advanced surfer, we adapt our coaching and the spots depending on the level. 

What a day of surfing looks like at Ohana ? 

Start with a surf safari with all the materials to find the best spot Arrive on the spot and get ready to jump in the water 2 hours of surf coaching with your instructor, each instructor will have 8 guests max in his group Lunch break at the beach Practice what you’ve learnt in the morning with 2 hours of free Your instructors will carefully watch and film you Come back at the house and chill until diner After diner, video analysis of the free surf session to be able to improve your skills the next day. 

At Ohana we provide wetsuits, boards and leash. Boards are carefully chosen to be adapted to your level and to help you improve your surfing skills the best way possible. Trust us, we are the experts ;) 

If you have your own wetsuit and board, feel free to bring it with you ! 

Priority will always be put on surfing if the conditions are good for your level. Nevertheless, in case of bad conditions :

MORE INFO, HOW TO GET THERE & FAQ

The temperature of the water is generally quite warm all year long (between 17°C and 23°C), rarely requiring a wetsuit thicker than a 3:2. Nevertheless if you’re easily cold, travelling between December and March and plan on staying hours riding the waves, feel free to bring your 4:3. 

Characterization of surroundings/region

Our beautiful home is located in Banana Village, an authentic Moroccan Berber village, situated near the Atlantic Ocean around 15km north of Agadir. It’s a calm, local village - just a 5 to 10 minute drive to the famous surf spots Tamraght and Taghazout. 

Ways to get to the camp

The easiest way to reach Ohana Surf Morocco is flying into Agadir Airport, just a 45 minute drive from us. Since there are no street addresses in this area of Morocco, the easiest way is to book a transfer to and from Agadir Airport with us for €30 each way. Our transfer partner will wait for you at the airport with a sign with your name on it and will know where to go.

In case there's no direct flight into Agadir from your destination, you could consider flying into Essaouira (3 hours drive) or Marrakech (3.5 hours). Casablanca is a 6 hour bus journey to Agadir bus station €20 one way, timetable and more pricing info here: https://www.lagare.ma/en/.

Important details

EU passport holders do not require a visa to enter Morocco for tourist purposes. Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay and 6 months after your stay. If you hold a passport from outside the European Union we recommend that you check with your nearest Moroccan Embassy.
