At Ika Ika we know a thing or two about how to enjoy chill time. Our surfers like to wake up to the sound of the ocean, blue skies and freedom to explore whatever the day throws at them. Our surfhouse is a relaxed and comfortable house facing the beautiful beach of La Tejita and the impressive Montaña roja. There is a daily shuttle to and from the Ika Surf school which will drop you in time for your classes and shuttle you back later - the house is located around 14 mins drive along the coast.
Features
There is a great little mall around 5 minutes walk along the coast road which features supermarket ( open 7 days ), Mexican/Italian/Indidan/ Spanish restaurants and a supermarket with a great selection of all you need (lactose intolerant? Vegan ? Gluten Free? All available there at the supermarket, seven days a week).
Just a short cab or ten minute walk is the lively beach town of El Medano, the south's coolest hidden gem (home of world championship meets for Windsurf and Kitesurf). The town has multiple restaurants and bars, with a more bohemien atmosphere, oceanside shops and a great beach (surfing/windsurfing/kitesurf and SUP also available here)
Getting around: There is a bus stop on the corner of the street which has regular services to more or less everywhere on the island. Car rentals are readily available as are bikes/excursions and with so much to see on the island we like to let people choose their own experiences or share with houseguests, maybe go on a discovery trip together. With maximum occupancy of 8 people in the house - the vibe is comfortably relaxed, spacious and chilled enough to have your own space yet with definite tendency to party or BBQ when our guests want to.
There are accommodation options for a twin room (two single beds) a double room with double bed, or a shared room with two bunks. The House provides bed linen and towels. The house has two bathrooms, a large communal living space with TV (HDMI cable and wifi here so you can netflix or youtube all you wish.) There is a large modern kitchen with oven / microwave / fridge / freezer / dishwasher / washing machine. The garden patio overlooks the Atlantic Ocean with the impressive Montaña Roja - (a great daily hike challenge!), there is also a BBQ patio. There is free fast wifi in the house.

The good weather that the island enjoys with 23 degrees in winter and 30 degrees of air in summer, make it a destination of excellence for surfers throughout the year. A 3/2 suit is not necessary, surfing in swimsuit or short suit is the custom here.
Tenerife is the largest of the seven islands that make up the Canary Archipelago; it is located between parallels 28 and 29 N and meridians 16 and 17 W, slightly north of the Tropic of Cancer, and occupies a central position between the islands of Gran Canaria, La Gomera and La Palma.
The island is just over 300 km from the African continent and 1300 km from the Iberian Peninsula. It has an area of 2,034 km2 and a curious triangular shape, rising in its center the gigantic Pico del Teide, which with its 3,718 meters high is the highest point in Spain.
Tenerife is located in the transition area between the subtropical and temperate zones. It benefits from the so-called Cold Current of the Canary Islands, which extraordinarily sweetens its conditions, and also from the refreshing trade winds, so appreciated for sailing. In Tenerife it is always spring, with an annual average of 23 degrees Celsius and few differences between maximums and minimums. In this framework of soft conditions, it is possible to find, however, microclimates for all tastes, surprising for their variety and closeness to each other. Thus, the south is drier and warmer, with more hours of sunshine, while in the north, more humid, the climatic smoothness is even greater.
