Surfing in the Black Sea
There are more than 40 surf spots and many more unexplored places in ordu. Be the first to surf, you name the surf spot!
The village of Vona (Persembe) is the center of surfing, 15 minutes from Ordu city centre. We do our lessons in our surf schools located in 3 different locations in accordance with your level. From the long board to the short board, there's a fun surfing spot for everyone from first-time surfers to advanced kamikaze surfers. And yes, there's equipment we can rent to suit every level. Those who fear the waves, do not be afraid! We're only taking time to improve your swimming level and get you out into the open. We don't teach on choppy days until you're comfortable. Don't worry: Black Sea waves are much easier than the ocean!

Deniz started Mellow in Sri Lanka and he moved back to his hometown after 2 years to share his experience to build a new generation and lifestyle. Deniz enjoys surfing, guiding, and sharing his life experience. His passion is to connect people to one another and with nature.

Pink Ladys Mansion
Great place to share! Would you like to be a part of the slow life on Thursday and share your experiences with your housemates? You can enjoy the town life 10 minutes from the surf school and 15 minutes from the Doctor's Surf House. You can work in co-working spaces and spend time with your roommates. In the communal kitchen, you can work wonders with ingredients from the famous Thursday market.

Mellow Hostel:

Beginner Lessons: For those who have never tried surfing before, those who have tried and stood up before.

Intermediate and Advanced Level: It alone captures the waves and can drive. If you know the difference between white foam and green wave, these lessons are for you to advance.

On unsymmed days; Onshore skateboard posture and rotation trainings, paddle technique and practices, technical and theoretical trainings on forecasting and wave formation

On choppy days; 1 video-analyzed surfing lesson, learning how to get exposed in the waves and where to position yourself, choosing and driving the right wave alone.

SURF MATERIALS

SURF GUIDANCE AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL

we have softtops for beginners and fiberglass for advanced surfers from 5 ft to 9'4 we have boards for all levels. Participants need to bring their swimsuits, sun creams. The rest we provide. If you have wetsuit and surfboard, more than welcome to bring. Rental for the boards are free for our students. If you are not taking surf guiding, rental is 300 TL per hour and 1200 TL per day.

Mellow Yoga
Yoga is capable of giving you strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and serenity. All these skills can not only be surprising in terms of qualities that will help daily life, but can also be used to improve your surfing skills. Whether you're an experienced yogi or practically brand new, join us for a lesson and make new friends!

SURROUNDINGS / REGION

---

There are no neighbors other than the relatives in one to two kilometers perimeter. The hotel land has two river streams on both sides which flow to the beautiful beach. It is only about five minutes walking distance to the beach and there are many historical ruins to discover around as well. Feel free to have a walk around and harvest your own hazelnut and fruits.

We are 20 min drive from the town center. We are surronded with beautiful locals and amazing nature. We do offer currency exchange in our place. Cost of living per day is around 70-100 USD per day. No need for any vaccination. Please get your insurance cover before your arrival.

Ways to get to the camp

Ordu Giresun Airport is 40 minutes drive from the surfcamp. There are several daily flights from Istanbul. Also you can reach from Germany and Netherlands with direct flights to Ordu. Mellow Hostel can arrange your pick up from the airport. There are also shuttles from the airport to a place nearby the camp. Pick up is around 100 USD for normal car (2-3 people can share).

Important details

Visa on arrival is possible. 30 USD. Please do check online the details for your country. 

Public transport is around 15-20 TL for ride from hotel to town center. Runs every 15 min from 8 am till 7 pm.

6-Week Summer Camp Programme (3-22 years) - 540 TL in total per Person

---

In the summer camp, we aim to improve our children's motor coordination, problem solving skills and spatial perception.
We do fun activities to reveal their self-confidence, support them to overcome their anxieties and socialise by feeding on the creative power of nature. The development of motor skills at an early age is very important for a child's cognitive and sensory development. This is exactly why the coordination and balance exercises we do regularly in surf and skateboard training are so valuable. It is the priority of our programme to transfer negative thoughts and behaviours to positive channels and help our children gain new skills. In the 6-week summer camp programme, we focus on all these areas in weekly meetings with our trainers and psychological counsellors. Our psycho-educational workshops for parents will also begin. After completing the 6-week programme, our children will have the opportunity to enrol for a longer period of time and receive scholarships.

We receive new registrations every day between June and October. Our trainings continue every day of the week between 07.00-18.30.
