ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

Luey is a short drive from both the beach and the moutains. It's the perfect location for all our activities. The beautiful landscape surrounding our villa will take your breath away. As far as you can see there is only fields and forest, all you will hear is the eventual cow- bell and the birds :) 

In the early summer season the surf conditions are generally good, winds tend to be calm and the weather sunny. From smooth beginner conditions to more powerful waves for intermediates and advanced surfers- we will make sure you get the surf you want! Merón beach offers a variety of different peaks that work throughout all tides. We are very experienced with giving surf lessons in the area and will make sure that we get to surf or own peak. 

The vibe will always be of the essence! Together we will keep it alive!

Our experience in the hospitality industry and our experience travelling has taught us what it means and what it takes to be good hosts. We take this role very seriously and want to assure that making you feel at home is our number one priority. 

Taking care of people and bringing like minded, amazing people together is what drives us, we love it! Whether you’re a solo traveler, a couple or a group of friends, we believe that at Outeroutes you will find that kicking back, socializing and really indulging won’t be hard at all! 

Our guests usually are between 21 and 40 years old and from all over the world- with a focus on our favourite country, Spain :)

We love creating amazing memories for our guests. We love sharing our favourite activities, our favourite food and our favourite places. However, we recognise the challenges tourism brings with it, and have set out to make a difference. This is how the idea behind Outeroutes was born. 

The concept has one plain and simple goal: to create incomparable experiences for you, with minimum impact on the environment. The concept is built on four “main pillars”. These have been designed and aligned in order to provide you with the vacation sought after, the vacation you deserve. The pillars are: Adventure, Gastronomy, Home & Community.All pillars are built on the foundation of our little to no impact goal. Sustainability is what drives us. We aim to inspire a shift in the modern hospitality industry.

We are a team of experienced international travellers, surfers and yogis. Our founders Justin (Aruba) and Phil (Germany) will host the camps with our Yoga teacher María José (Spain) and our chef Michaela (Italy).

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Piñar de Luey will take your breath away. An old mountain villa, beautifully renovated to accommodate travelers from all over the globe. The picturesque, rustic and classic Cantabrian architecture oozes an indescribable energy, making you feel relaxed and at home almost instantly. The surroundings will make your imagination go wild. Mountain tops, big walnut trees and rivers meandering amongst the foothills awaits the adventure seeker. 

 The house boasts a total of 6 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, 3 spacious common areas and great outdoor areas where you can relax and take in the surroundings. 

The common areas are beautifully decorated and accommodate your every relaxing need! Fireplaces and big sofas have your name written all over them. Kick back with a nice book or board game and share some of your outdoor experiences accompanied by your favourite beverage and awesome people.

This classic Cantabrian mountain lodge has everything you need to enjoy a week of crazy activities and new and exciting experiences. Piñar de Luey boasts a total of 6 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.

The 3 person room boasts a double bed with an additional single.

Healthy and great food is very important to us. During your stay at La Casuca we will have a private chef in charge of the kitchen and in charge of feeding us the good stuff!

Breakfasts are fueling and will prepare you for the active day ahead. We serve a healthy and tasty mix of fruity bowls, smoothies, good bread and daily specials.

Our lunches are designed to give your body what it needs to recover and feel good. The yummy lunch menu is best described as “comfort food” like pastas, salads, soups & more.

Dinner will always be a special event during your stay. The menu our chef puts together follows daily themes and will surprise you in its variety and excellence. A three course sit down dinner, made and served with passion.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Surfing means the world to us and we love sharing this passion. You will feel closer than ever to nature. You will feel your heartbeat after gliding down a wave. And you will understand why people change their lives to live close to the ocean. Close your eyes for a moment out there and enjoy a peaceful sunset with your friends.

No matter what level you’re at, we’ll find a wave that suits you best! Our classes are designed around your goals and needs, and are aimed at getting you to the next level, whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced surfer! We teach in small groups of up to 6 people. Course language for all activities will be Spanish and English.

Our instructors are well seasoned and passionate about their job. Sharing their knowledge of the ocean, the waves and their favourite sport with you is what they do best.

We provide all the materials you will need. Our local partner school has boards in all shapes and sizes. Our wet suits are of good quality (Billabong) and all you will need is a towel and sun screen :) 

Next to the daily surf lessons we offer Yoga classes in the mornings and evenings, plus a variety of outdoor activities that you can choose from during your week: Canyoning, Mountain hikes, Horseback Riding and SUP tours! Pick the one you like most and enjoy a week of surf and yoga or try something new every day- you tailor your experience and we take care of the rest!

The locals are mostly friends of ours and friendly in the water. 
We work with our local partner school and therefore make sure that we have our own zone and peak to surf- no worries.

We invite you to spend an unforgettable week with us at our favourite location on the Spanish north shore: Oyambre natural park. A truly unique place in Europe! The picturesque villages, the snow capped mountains on the backdrop, incredible landscapes and a breathtaking coastline are but a few of the goods this place has to offer. 

As an outdoor enthusiast you can trust that this place will deliver. Be it adventures in the mountains or fun in the Atlantic Ocean, Oyambre has everything the heart of a traveller could desire. Plenty of good surf spots, friendly locals, mouth-watering tapas and nature at its doorstep. Get ready.

Ways to get to the camp

The closest airports are Bilbao and Santander. Shuttle transfers to and from these airports can be organized upon request. We recommend you book your tickets early to avoid unnecessary costs.
