ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

AGADIR

Agadir is a beautiful yet unique city which combines tradition, interesting history and palm-lined boulevards. During the earthquake in 1960, only 3 buildings survived; a mosque, a movie theatre and the kasbah. Agadir was rebuilt 3 kms south of the ancient city. The city becomes more popular every year due to its serene beaches, wide avenues, blooming gardens and magnificent port.

Before the earthquake Agadir was also called ‘Santa Cruz’ or ‘The Miami of Africa’.
Some of the activities in Agadir are: Souk el Hadad, Marina, The Kasbah and The port.

TAMRAGHT

Tamraght is a small village located just 15 km north of Agadir and about 5 km south of Taghazout. Together with Aourir, Tamraght is better known as Banana Village. Oued Tamraght separates the two villages and the name Banana Village comes from the banana groves along the river. The two villages together share banana beach, which is great for beginner surfers. Tamraght is a peaceful Berber village nestled at the foothill of the mountain, but just a stone throw away from the Atlantic, mostly famous under surfers.

Our main instructor and co-owner Badr spend his early days at the beach as a qualified life guard.
This is also where he discovered his love for the ocean and his passion for surfing.

Your first point of contact will be Linda, co-owner and woman behind the scenes.
She will take care of all your questions and requests.

Karim is our well trained and highly experienced yoga teacher. He has been teaching yoga and meditation for 24 years.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Surf houses
According to availability we host our guests in 2 different surf houses.
No matter which surf house you are located, all rooms will have an ensuite bathroom. Our first surf house is nestled in the hills of the friendly surfer village Tamraght and just a short walking distance away from the beach, shops and restaurants. Since the life of a surfer is very simplistic. We tried to aim for this in the design of the beautiful surf house. The second surf house is built as a traditional Moroccan riad. This means that the rooms are all based off a central courtyard surrounding a beautiful garden and pool. The same as our first surf house, we tried to aim for a simplistic design in the riad. The rooms are spread over 3 floors and the rooftop will give you plenty of space to enjoy a beautiful sunset or do some yoga early in the morning.

While shopping in local markets, preparing food, cooking, serving and eating any Moroccan dish you get to feel the remarkable influences of Morocco's long history of colonizers and immigrants who all left their marks and finger prints in the country.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Whether you are a newbie hoping to stand on the board or an advanced surfer looking to take your surf skill to the next level, we welcome you all!

Our experienced surf coaches will provide beginners with the necessary building blocks to achieve their goals and will help advanced surfers to fine tune their skills.

Since it is the ocean we will be surfing, one of the most relevant skills to learn is how to read the condition of the sea.

No matter which package you will choose, we will teach you what you need to know about the sea, according to your level.
It takes time to master all the aspects of the sport, that is why we try to divide our surfers according to their level.

Seasonal conditions

Tamraght has a subtropical oceanic temperate climate. The winter will give you warm days, chilly nights and hardly any rainfall. In summertime it is warm, but without excesses and no rain.

The weather, the consistency of the swells and the long righthanders makes Tamraght pleasent to visit all year round.

Ways to get to the camp

Airlines from Europe: Ryanair & Transavia are the cheapest. Airport transfers are included in our packages (minimum of 4 night stay). Our representative will be waiting for you to bring you to the surf house.

Getting to SantaCruz Surf Maroc coming from Marrakech

The ride from Marrakech to our camp is approximately 3,5 hours.
We can arrange an airport transfer from Marrakech for a minimum of 4 people (100 € total)

If you are alone or with less than 4:
1. Take a petit taxi from the airport to Supratours or CTM.
2. At Supratours or CTM book a bus ticket for the next bus to Agadir.
3. Inform us about the time of arrival and we will pick you up at the bus station in Agadir.

We guarantee that we will make you stand on the board and be able to surf a wave, even if you have never seen the sea before. The only thing we ask from you, is that you are able to swim. If you are not able to stand on the board by the end of your holiday, your holiday is for free.

For those of you who became excited about surfing, but already have their own accommodation, we also offer the surf lessons only option. We always recommend session of 2 hours, because it take more than an hour to learn to surf. A wetsuit and beginner softboard are included in the below prices.
