Summary
Sup Adventures is a Stand Up Paddle and Surf school located in the wonderful San Pietro’s Island, South Sardinia, Italy.
Was born in 2014 from an idea we had after a trip in Brasil, on Florianopolis island, where Stand up Paddle was practiced daily on local lagoons, and we thought that on our little island in Sardinia it would have been the best way to enjoy the coasts and live nature and the sea with no limits.
San Pietro is a little island in south west Sardinia and is perfect for practicing SUP as it always has a sheltered coast from the wind and at the same time can have good waves to learn surfing and sup surfing.
So we decided to buy 2 used boards and we tries paddling for the first time under our home, and the emotion was unique, breathtaking!
Watching the sea standing on the water, and that sea, so clear and blue, was something unexpected even for us that know it so well. That’s why we decided to start our Sup Adventures.
We bought 6 boards that first year, and we have now more than 30 boards of all sizes, a whale board more than 5 mt long, and 2 fitness platforms for yoga an pilates, but mostly we have many new friends with whom we share our wonderful experiences!

Who is the SUP & SURF RETREAT for? For those who are tired of the usual vacations, for those who want to take advantage of this moment to get in shape while having fun and finding a balance with the mind, surrounded by nature.
It does not matter if you are an athlete or if you are out of shape.
Stand Up Paddle is a discipline that anyone can practice.
It will help you get back in shape, have fun and learn something new.
CAMP OPERATOR
Mario and Diana.
Mario, a real boy from Carloforte, surfer and sailor, he loves the sea and he knows the island’s coasts perfectly! On his SUP he’ll show you the most secret and hidden corners of the island, with a great passion and always caring about safety on water.
ISA Surf Instructor (International Surfing Association), he’ll guide you through any kind of wave, from the small to the bigger ones!
Diana, originary from northern Italy, lives in Sardinia since 10 years and specialized in SUP and Surf. ISA SUP Instructor (International Surfing Association) she’ll teach you how to paddle and for sure you’ll get on board with her suggestions! Manager of all the activities she’ll be running from one base to the other for lessons, tours or workout classes.

Hotel Paola and his restaurant
Upon entering Carloforte’s Hotel Paola one is immediately greeted by the warm sense of hospitality of the Vitiello family, who, for more than 30 years, have been welcoming tourists as if they were long-lost relatives. The warmth of Signora Vittoria, who, like a caring mother, sits at your table and tells you whats she’s cooked, the pleasantness of Paola, who divides her time between the children and the kitchen, and also Pier, connoisseur of Sardinian wines, who knows the island like few locals and can tell you of its secrets and hidden treasures, all unite to ensure that a weekend here, or even a simple dinner, will be a memorable and special experience.
A wonderful hotel, only 4 km north from town, surrounded by nature, peace, silence, many terraces where you can relax, read, do yoga, or stay in the sun, with a unique sea view! They offer a transfer service all day.
CATERING
The breakfast is included.
They have a very good terrace restaurant, where they offer us menus for 20/25/30 euros with typical food and our 1st and last night dinners with typical dishes from the Carloforte tradition. From the hotel you can walk to the tonnara buildings, and to the sea with a 15 minutes walk.

Day 1
- Arrival at Cagliari airport Transfer and ferry to Carloforte
- Check in Hotel Dinner at hotel’s restaurant Day 2/7
Day 2/7
- Pick up 10 am from the hotel (pick up time can be changed depending on weather conditions) Transfer to the beach stretching and heating for the session
- Sup session briefing departure arrival at another bay
- Packed lunch chill and relax at the beach back to the hotel with chance to icecream pit stop in town
- Dinner every night in a different restaurant that offers you a menu with a special price for our guests Last night we’ll organize a special dinner for you at the hotel’s restaurant!

SURF CONDITIONS

The surf spots are close to each other and are characterized by a sandy bottom.

Crowd factor and local people
The island is a quiet place, the locals are used to tourists and know how to engage them. The rules of surfing are valid but everyone is allowed to surf in peace.

JOURNEY
Ways to get to the camp
Plane: you can land in Cagliari airport and from there take a shuttle or a private taxi or rent a car and go to Portoscuso, where every hour there’s a ferry for Carloforte (30 minutes).
Shuttle to the island: The easyest and fastest way to get to Carloforte from Cagliari airport is to take the shullte service of Di.Be. TAXI (timetables and contacts) company. They have several busses giung from the airport to the ferry departure every day, for 15 euros per person, and thay also give a private taxy service for 70 euros.
Ship: you can take a ship for Porto Torres, Alghero, Olbia, Golfo Aranci or Cagliari from many ports in northern ITaly or southern France and Spain. From the main island you’ll have to drive to Portoscuso where every hour there’s a ferry for Carloforte (30 minutes).
Ferry from Portovesme/Calasetta to Carloforte:
In any way you’ll get to Portoscuso (faster to reach, no ferries after 22.20h) or Calasetta (ferries 24h), you’ll have to take a ferry to get on San Pietro’s island. The only company providing the service is Delcomar, and at the folloqing links you can find timetables from Calasetta and Portovesme
Important details
Covid-19 Vaccination Required. We will send you links to fill out the necessary forms to complete your reservation and current covid regulations.
Medical insurance is not included, however there is a first aid station on the island for all locals and tourists. It is important to contact the organizers in case of allergies or special requests or difficulties in understanding how to reach the island.
