Surf Inn is based on the principles of community, health, and the laid-back lifestyle associated with surfing, yoga, and Brazilian culture. We believe that engaging in sports and socializing with others can create a happier, more peaceful life.
Located in Rio de Janeiro, in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood, Surf Inn provides access to one of the best longboarding surf spots in the world. Our beachfront location offers a scenic landscape with consistent waves throughout the year. Additionally, we aim to give our guests a taste of the "Carioca Style" vibe, not only providing a place to stay and surf but also offering an unforgettable lifetime experience. Our facility is conveniently located near supermarkets, restaurants, and vibrant local bars.

The camp embodies the free-spirited lifestyle and communal ethos of Rio de Janeiro's surf culture. Designed for surfers of all skill levels, it offers personalized surf coaching, daily yoga sessions, and engaging cultural experiences that immerse guests in Brazilian life. Founded and managed by Lucas, Surf Inn's team comprises individuals passionate about sharing their love for the ocean and Brazilian culture. The operators are dedicated to providing personalized service and expert guidance, ensuring that every guest receives the best possible experience. Their intimate knowledge of the local surf conditions and lifestyle guarantees an authentic and enriching adventure tailored to each visitor’s needs.

We have a variety of single rooms, double and triple rooms with private bathroom. In the comum area we have kitchen, balcony, swimming pool, internet, TV, etc.-
We provide bed linen, towels, hair dryer for the Private rooms. Storing of valuables and non-smoker accommodation
CATERING
Our surf camp has 2 restaurants, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Kitchen provided also for our guests who likes to cook. Nearby we have few shopping facilities with cheap food products.
As well in the regions is full of restaurants nearby. (price level) We also offer special meals for vegetarians and vegan.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES
SURF COURSE DETAILS
In our Surf Camp we hold individual and closed group programs of Surfing + Yoga Lessons + Accommodation (with breakfast included) throughout the whole year

SURFING METHOD
Our classes are in groups of a maximum of 3 students per teacher with a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours. We also offer private ones.
We place students according to their surfing level. We don’t mix levels so our English speaking teachers can focus on your needs

SURF CONDITIONS
Breaks: Surf Inn offers access to multiple surf breaks suitable for all skill levels. The main spot features a sandy beach break with consistent waves. Nearby spots include Grumari and Macumba, which provide a mix of beach and reef breaks suitable for both beginners and advanced surfers. These spots are accessible within a 5-10 minute drive from the camp.
Seasonal Conditions:
Water Temperature: Varies from 22°C (72°F) in winter to 27°C (81°F) in summer. Air Temperature: Ranges from 20°C (68°F) in winter to 30°C (86°F) in summer. Wind: Predominantly light to moderate offshore winds in the mornings, shifting onshore in the afternoon. Waves: Waves range from 1-3 meters (3-10 feet) depending on the season, with the most consistent swell during the winter months (May-September).
Crowd Factor and Local People: While the main breaks can get crowded, especially during weekends and holidays, the local surfers are generally friendly and welcoming to visitors. However, respect for local etiquette and prioritizing wave rotation is recommended for a positive experience.
SURROUNDINGS / REGION
Characterization of Surroundings/Region: Recreio dos Bandeirantes is a vibrant neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, known for its laid-back atmosphere and beautiful beaches. The area is around 30 km (18 miles) from downtown Rio and 45 km (28 miles) from the international airport. The region is famous for its lush nature, including the nearby Grumari Beach, Tijuca Forest, and Pedra Branca State Park.
Culture and Customs: Cariocas (Rio locals) are known for their warmth and hospitality. The region is rich in cultural activities, from samba music and carnival celebrations to delicious local cuisine.
Helpful Language Skills: Basic Portuguese phrases are useful as English is not widely spoken.
