Our team in Paje consists of highly experienced watermen and women from all over the world who are keen and eager to help you out with the best advice and service for your stay in Zanzibar. Our instructors speak multiple languages and our equipment is the latest technology to maximize your experience on and off the water with us. Our Aquaholics Paje center is located on the doorstep of the famous Paje beach which is known for its picturesque lagoon and ideal kiting area.

Location
The apartments are perfectly located in the heart of Paje, just a short walk from the beach and our Aquaholics Kite & Surf Center. You find everything you need close by, such as supermarkets, local shops, souvenir shops, bars & restaurants.

The beautiful kite beach can be reached via village road within 100m. An approximately 3minute walk also leads to our Aquaholics Kite & Surf Center, Ocean Restaurant & Beach Bar and Buccaneer Diving.

Facilities
The secure and cozy courtyard style property has a total of 8 rooms, a communal garden & lounge and a pool with sunbathing area. Free Wifi is available in the communal area as well as rooms. The vibey property is filled with many spots to chill out, meet fellow travelers or read a book in a hammock.

Rooms
All apartments are double storey with upstairs bedroom/bathroom and downstairs lounge/kitchenette. Each room has a fan, air-conditioning, a King Size Bed, Mosquito Net, Hot Water Shower and a private balcony. The kitchenette is equipped simply with kettle, toaster, fridge and some basic cuttlery, so you can arrange snacks inbetween and store cold drinks from the supermarket.

Towels and Linen as well as daily housekeeping are included in your stay.

Free Drinking Water is provided.

CATERING

Breakfast is included in your stay and served Ebb & Flow. There is a bar serving cold drinks all day and cocktails in the afternoon and evenings. Every Tuesday a communal Swahili Dinner Night is arranged at the guesthouse. The guesthouse doesn't have a full time restaurant, however delivery can be arranged and you can find lots of great bars and restaurant in short walking distance from the place.

Paje offers a great choice when it comes to food and night life. You can also find local, as well as european style restaurants and bars only a few steps away.

 SURF CONDITIONS

---

Surfing in Zanzibar offers some great conditions for all levels. You find uncrowded and untouched surf spots along the southeast coast with mainly right hander waves.

The reef in Zanzibar is not as gnarly as some other tropical islands surfing spots. Its generally flat and rocky. Some surfing spots can be home to many sea urchins (spikey crustations you don’t want to stand on) but our beginner friendly spot is almost urchin free. Dolphins are seen regularly along the coastline and often join you for a surf session. Local fisherman often gather and watch the first surfers in Zanzibar as we discover new spots all around the island.

During the December to March season we do get anti- cyclones in the indian ocean which can send some proper ground swell our way, and that’s when all sorts of surf spots start working. Throw in an offshore day and we have surf breaks where you can trade stand up barrels with only a handful of surfers out.

Zanzibar is quite chancy for waves, so the knowledge of where to go is an essential. Swell and wind direction are vital to get any form of decent wave to surf as well as tides and moon faze. Different sections on the reef break on different conditions and some are really worth the boat trip out for a surfing session.

Surfing lessons and surf trips need to be well timed, as surfing in Zanzibar is limited to 1.5 - 3 hours of good surf a day. The reason being are the big tidal changes on the island. Surfing lessons need to be timed to the pushing mid tide to get the beginner surf spot working at its best. The more advanced surfing spots start to work with the last hour of the dropping tide and best over low tide and the first push after the tides change.
