ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

We are located in St CYPRIEN near to CANET EN ROUSSILLON in Southeast of France, on the Languedoc Roussillon, in the heart of the Catalunya north, at the foot of the Pyrenees, on the Mediterranean sea near the spainish border, St Cyprien is a huge sandy beaches of 8 km, yet safe conditions, which has been popular among windsurfers, and now kitesurfers, for many years.

The CBCM school (Concept Beach Concept Mountain) was created in 2003 by Laurent Mora, professional athlete, sports brand Ambassador, International Judge PKRA Kiteboarding World Tour and Graduate National Instructor of “French National Sailing & Watersports School of Quiberon” in Brittany France ENVSN . Laurent is one of the pioneers of kitesurfing in France, he acts as judge with François Feray (Race director) in different kitesurfing event in Europe and around the world between 1999 and 2003.Thus, it participated in the drafting of rules racing and safety of kitesurfing. In 2000 François Feray & Laurent Mora provides impetus to the creation of the PKRA Kiteboarding World Tour (Professional Kiteboard Riders Association). In recent years the PKRA Tour became the sole recognized in the world of professional kiteboarding. In 2015 Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group becomes a partner of the PKRA “Virgin Kitesurf World Championships” www.vkwc.com.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

FARMHOUSE VILLA WITH SWIMMING POOL
In the heart of a large Catalan farmhouse' an old wine-growing estate', the recently renovated 250 m2 house can accommodate 10 people. Very comfortable' it is furnished with 5 bedrooms, 4 beautiful bathrooms and a living room of 60 m2.
The White Farmhouse is at the end of a long path bordered by 40 century-old plane trees. The villages of Théza and Alenya are each 1 km from the farmhouse. You will find good shops (butcher's, baker's, grocer's, press...) as well as a very popular restaurant in the region, Le Moussec. Saint Cyprien is only 5 km away, with its large sandy beaches, a famous kitesurfing spot, a beautiful 18-hole golf course and the largest marina in the region.
In the park, the 12mX5m swimming pool is in the middle of a vast green space totally fenced, access can only be through a secure gate.
Living room, outdoor table, BBQ & Kitchen:
The perfectly equipped kitchen area can accommodate the best chefs. The walled garden makes it independent from the rest of the farmhouse and very easy to live in.
A large dining room table, an old stone press is transformed into a barbecue, and at the end of the garden, behind the vineyard, a Moroccan summer lounge is ideal for resting, playing or reading away from the others.
Next to it, a second house of 100 m2, charming, can accommodate 6 to 7 people with its 3 bedrooms' 2 bathrooms, its living room with its kitchen' all perfectly equipped.

Breakfast is at 9:00. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, yoghurt, muesli, toast and eggs

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Thanks to a team of professionals, we offer a teaching program adapted to your level, with radio support, into the deep water accompanied by a safety boat ( Open Water Coaching ) or in shallow waters (for kiteboarding).We have areas reserved for kitesurfing (Kite Zone), and the latest generation of hardware. You also have the possibility to take private lessons (Private Coach).

We offer a full range of beginner to advanced courses. Every day, your instructor picks you up at the hotel and takes you to the best places for beginners on the north coast. Simple surf waves, an adventure in search of the best wave. The surf school offers a surfboard to suit your size and level. 

Surf lessons are organized in groups of 5 maximum per instructor, which guarantees that each student learns while having fun without being left behind.A family atmosphere, personalized coaching, our CBCM Kitesurf & Wakeboard courses have already seduced many riders who come back every year. Depending on the conditions, we offer you to go kitesurfing, wakeboarding or stand up paddle.

MONDAY to FRIDAY: Monday Intro Day & Start Training From Monday to Friday, we start with a morning yoga session at sunrise to stretch your muscles. The sessions take place by the pool overlooking the estate's park and the Canigou mountain range. Yoga takes place from 7:45 am to 8:30 am. Then, have a healthy snack.

Characterization of surroundings/region

The coastline of Languedoc-Roussillon has beautiful beaches and rugged rocky coast of the Pyrenees. Tourism and fishing are the foundation of St Cyprian economy, which means there are plenty of things to do if you have the misfortune of being devoid of wind or keep non-kiters happy! Couples can escape the hustle and bustle of beaches in stand up paddle or sail and hide in Collioure nice cafés and restaurants among the picturesque streets, or take in the breathtaking views of the Pyrenees and watch the world go by.

St Cyprien lies in the path of the most constant winds in Northern Spain. The strong and steady Tramontana blows cross or cross-shore from the left and maintains a strong grip on the wind and weather conditions in the vicinity of the Pyrenees. It’s particularly strong in spring and autumn, when it can get up to force eight or nine! The thermal wind prevails in the summer months (mid-June to mid-September) blowing cross-onshore from the right, averaging between a mellow force three and lively force five. The summer thermal wind is very reliable and builds up towards midday. The sandy beach is roughly 80 metres wide and the shallow water extends out for about 30 metres. The shape of the beach ensures absolute safety for kitesurfers. There’s enough room for first-time kitesurfers while the more advanced riders can enjoy blasting out into the vast open playground.

Seasonal conditions
WIND & WEATHER:
Strong Tramontana winds in the spring and autumn from the left, and more gentle but regular breezes coming cross-onshore from the right in the summer months (mid-June to mid-September).
WATER:
Between April and September the water temperature fluctuates between 17 and 22°C.

Ways to get to the camp

SUNDAY, arrival day: Settling in When arriving in Perpignan, the transfer to the city of St Cyprien takes between 30 minutes and one hour depending on traffic. A member of our CBCM team will be waiting for you when you leave the airport or SNCF station and will transfer you home when you arrive. You can arrive at any time on Sunday. After check-in, you are free to relax at the villa, go to the pool or the beach to paddle. In the evening, we book a table in a nearby beach restaurant, so you can get to know yourself. (dinner not included will be about 20 euros). Dinner is generally scheduled between 8pm and 9pm. Monday morning is the official intro!
