The Spot info, our kiteboarding school is located north west of Costa Rica at the province of Guanacaste, by the pacific Ocean, close to the border with Nicaragua. The closest international airport is Liberia, just 70Km away. Salinas Bay is the spot most windy to Central America.

We are a young and energetic kite team. We are passionate about kiteboarding and we love sharing our knowledge with our students.

Experience: I have been kiting since 2003 and teaching for the last 3 years in a professional way.

Style: I love all the styles, but big air is kind of my favorite.

Favorite spot: Bahia Salinas, it is a very versatile spot and the wind is just amazing, even too strong sometimes. On a second place I have to mention my home spot:Tarifa (Spain) but a few years ago, at the moment is too crowded.

Something about me: I used to work as an engineer I fed up, so I decided to dedicate my life to this amazing sport which was and is my passion. I love the aprés kite sessions with friends, students  and other kiters.

Favourite spot: Bahia Salinas is my favourite spot because you can find around a great varity of nature. I also like the spot in Sal (Cape Verde).

Something about me: I worked in England, France, Switzerland and Spain, but my favourite place to live it´s near the sea. In my free time, I love to do others sports like SUP, running, hiking… I love nature and I enjoy it.

At our Kiteboarding School in Costa Rica, we will find you a place that fit your needs. All the accommodation below are close to to the beach where the lessons take place.

KITE VILLA COSTA KITE

The Kite Villa Costa Kite is located close to the most beautiful beaches in the bay and the kite beach. It is ideal for couples, groups of friends or solo travellers who want to stay with other riders and close to teachers and our school.  We have private and shared rooms (dorm). The villa has a nice pool, small kitchen and a restaurant is just 100m walk, We organize activities every afternoon after kiting! come and enjoy the experience and atmosphere!!

CABAÑAS CAÑAS CASTILLA****

This Hotel is placed next to the river Sapoa, just 10 minutes away from La Cruz. All Cabañas have, fan, safe box, dinning hall, and terrace with views to the river or garden. This 6 Cabañas are right in the middle of the nature and just few minutes away from our kiteboarding school.

Our Kiteboarding school Costa Rica, provide kitesurfing courses and rentals at incredible prices. tale grabOur main concern is to obtain a high level of quality training for our students. We will put all our efforts to get what you need!!

At our kitesurf school Costa Rica we have a wide range of Kiteboarding courses and rentals for all levels and adapted to all situations. All our instructor are  Logo IKO Courses and Rentals  (International Kiteboarding organization) certified. For all our courses and rentals we use NEW GEAR.

Our Kiteboarding school in Costa Rica, is operates on Salinas bay beaches, normally Playa Copal. They are almost 2 km long There are no people or boats around you to worry about. It is not a crowded spot, you will never find more than 20 kiters in the water at the same time. The water is fairly flat. The wind is Side on Shore

The weather is always warm and the water is warm most of the time. We provide wetsuits and booties during lessons in case you want it and also offer them for rent .

If you wanna bring your gear, the most popular kite size is 8m.

One singularity about this spot is the island placed right in the middle of the bay called Bolaños island. It is an amazing natural spot with beautiful light sand and flat water.

Costa Rica is known as the Latin American Swiss, because of its natural beauty, mountains and views. It is one of the very few countries with no army (since 1948). According to the global peace index, Costa Rica is one of the safest countries in Latin America and where corruption is very low.   The closest town to the sport is La Cruz (5Km) with a population around 20.000.

Ways to get to the camp
There are two international airports close to Bahia Salinas in Costa Rica near to Costa Kite kiteboarding school:

International Airport Juan Santamaria (SJO) in San Jose which is a 5 hour drive

If you a want to come by public transport from San Jose airport, get a taxi to the Alajuela station (5min drive) and take Deldu bus to La Cruz (timetable below), that will take you around 6h, and after that a last bus to us, Bahia Salinas (15km)

Internationa Airport Daniel Oduber Quiros (LIR) in Liberia just little over 1 hour which we recommend. Flights info here.

Once at the airport you can catch the bus into the town of Liberia (10km), and then catch another bus to La Cruz (timetable below), our town (60km) and finally a last bus to us, Bahia Salinas (11km)
