Dakhla Kitesurf World is a hotel/ camp providing Kiteboarding instructional program as well as accommodation. Located at 27 km from Dakhla, we are few steps across from the lagoon (250 m) and surrounded by sand dunes. There are 20 comfortable fully-equipped bungalows, a restaurant catering Moroccan and International cuisine and Kitesurf center for Kitesurfing lessons, activities and rentals. We add a dash of authenticity in such a way that you feel at home and get to experience the local culture. Most of all, you'll be practicing your Kitesurfing skills in one of the best spots with steady and regular winds almost all year round (85/ On-Side). The main spot is just across the hotel/camp and about 250 meters away; however, we can organize Kitesurfing trips on demand so that you can experience other amazing spots. For those who can kitesurf on their own and interested only in renting gear, the Kite & relax 2 package includes downwind to other spots such as the White Dune and Speed Spot.

CAMP OPERATOR

Our story began with one's person perspective to provide with a more authentic offer. This person is the owner and general manager, Mr. Hamid Darja who launched the hotel/camp in March 2018. Not only Dakhla Kitesurf World has become like a second home to many guests, it has also been an opportunity for local young people who grew up practicing Kitesurfing and look forward to share their passion and expertise.

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

Deluxe Bungalows:

Overlooking the lagoon, these bungalows offer a stunning view and come with queen-size beds and/or single beds. They are spacious and well equipped with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a mini fridge. We have both smoker and non-smoker bungalows.

Standard Bungalows:

These bungalows, located on the second line, are as spacious and well-equipped as the Deluxe Bungalows. They also come with queen-size beds and/or single beds and are suitable for up to 3 people. There is an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a mini fridge. We have both smoker and non-smoker bungalows.

The Voltage used is 220V; most devices from Europe with 230V can be used here. If you are not sure, plan to bring an adaptor.  In regards to storing valuables, you can use the safe at the reception. Finally, We’d like to remind you that we are in the middle of the desert so even though we have hot water, air conditioning and Wifi connection and until we can rely solely on solar energy in the future (used now for few areas), we depend and have to use a generator. Our generator’s operating hours are from 6:00 to 10:00 am, 13:00 to 15:00 and 19:00 to 12:00 am. However, we can extend these hours in case of special requests and please understand that as much as we’d like to meet your expectations for extended usage of electricity we also have to consider other guests’ rest time that could be affected by the generator’s noise.

As the hotel/camp is located 27 km from Dakhla Center and far away from restaurants and snacks, we provide accommodation on full board.
Whether you're a vegetarian, vegan or following a specific diet, just ask the chef and your request will be taken into consideration.

KITESURF COURSE DETAILS

---

The instructional program starts with kiting on land; you’ll experience flying a kite while being introduced to inflatable kites and how the bar and safety systems work as well as keys concepts, such as the wind window, powerzone, and all the safety elements. Then, you’ll be ready to enter the water and experience flying the kite in different areas of the powerzone and wind window. You’ll learn body dragging, techniques that you will use with your board, water relaunching the kite, and self-rescue. The final stage is when you get in the water and go up on the board. Balancing the power from the kite against your body weight and the position of the board is what you’ll work on so that you move forward and finally kiteboard. You’ll be coached and accompanied by an instructor who will be close by during the entire session. Dakhla Kitesurf World's instructors are professional and certified, they will help you get the most out of your kiting lessons.

But if you already know how to kitesurf and looking more into improving your skills, you'll be able to get the right gear depending on weather conditions and just go have fun while improving your Kiteboarding skills. You can decide when you want to schedule each downwind included in the package Kite & Relax 2. A guide will be assigned to you during downwind. 

Typically, you'll attend a morning briefing and/or get the appropriate gear and then hit to the lagoon for practise (lesson). Then, you'll be back at the hotel for lunch around 13:00. Because you can choose to dispatch the number of lessons booked as you please and also based on wind conditions, you can either practise more in the afternoon or choose to book sightseeing tours or other off-site activities. Our instructors speak mostly English and French.

KITESURFING MATERIALS

We have partnered with Peter Lynn, a brand that has Kiteboarding at heart and releases new models only after thourough testing by the most demanding riders. We use Peter Lynn EAPACE and SWELL V6 as well as PATROL boards 142 x 42 cm and 139 x 41,5 cm.
For Kite & Relax 1, Kiteboarding gear, assistance and rescue boat are included during lessons. Gear can be rented outside for lessons hours only when you'll be to kitesurf on your own.
For Kite & Relax 2, Kiteboarding gear rental is available during the Kitesurf center's operating hours (9:00 to 18:00).

Wind conditions are good almost all year round (at least 85) with some no-wind days during December and January. We usually have best wind conditions from March to October (at least 85)

Crowd factor and local people

The hotel/camp is quiet and not too far from the main spot, where most kitesurfing activities take place. However, the main spot is not quiet during high season yet it doesn't get too crowded either especially that the lagoon is dedicated to kitesurfing. Local people tend to use the beach (Atlantic ocean).

Characterization of surroundings/region

Dakhla is located south of Morocco and has become of the best Kitesurfing destination with ideal wind conditions, 15 to 25 knots almost all year around and 30 km of flat water. Nonetheless, there are miles of beaches of the Atlantic ocean for those who are interested in waves. Between lagoon and sea, Dakhla offers a unique kitesurfing experience in the middle of the desert while relaxing and exploring its stunning scenaries.
Most people speak English and French, especially in hotels/camps. The local currency is Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) and you won't have any problem exchanging Euros at the airport or banks in Dakhla Center.

Activities and facilities

Other touring or maybe dining in Dakhla Center, most of things to do here are sightseeing trips (at least 40 km away from Dakhla). We can organize excursions to the White Dune, Imlili, Puerto Ricco beach, Oyster farm and much more. Also, you can book fishing or sailing trips.

Ways to get to the camp

Most travellers get here by plane either straight from Europe with Transavia or from Casablanca with Royal air Maroc. The hotel/camp is 27 km away from the airport; we will pick you at the airport upon your arrival (transfers from and to the airports are included).
