ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

The camp is just a 5-minute walk from the stunning Praia da Tocha beach, where lessons will take place, and enjoy some beach activities, free surfing, sunbathing, and breathtaking sunsets. However, please remember to maintain the beach clean, return your equipment, and follow the environmental guidelines.

Praia da Tocha is an ideal spot for free surfing. There’s many waves around, surrounded by amazing landscapes. Here are a few recommendations: always respect the surf etiquette and the locals, know your limits and surfing capacity, take care with the current, avoid crowded spots and most importantly stay safe and have fun!

CAMP SITE

At the campsite, you’ll find a pool area, a sand volleyball court, a café-restaurant, a mini ramp, our tiki bar and free parking if you decide to visit us by car.

TIME TO SLEEP

Quality rest is important. As a camp rule, no noise can be made after 11 pm. Those who wish to continue partying late can visit the town outside the camp.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

At Dreamsea Portugal Centro, you can choose to stay in one of our two tent options: Glamping or Sharing Tents. Both, quality bell tents and good comfortable options, to enjoy the most of your outdoor holiday.

FACILITIES

All the facilities at the camp are shared, including toilets and bathrooms.

PET FRIENDLY

We welcome pets! Pets must be booked in a private room to sleep indoors and must remain leashed and under constant supervision.

EXTRAS

All our accommodations include bedding, a blanket, and power. No sleeping bag or duvet is needed. Towels are provided only in our glamping tents. Extra beds can be requested only in the glamping tents.

Our sharing tents are perfect for friends, family and solo travelers looking for a more affordable, fun and social option. Located in the heart of our surf camp, you won’t miss a thing from the surf week experience and have an amazing time.

We take pride in serving tasty, and energizing meals that accommodate different dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan options. Upon request, we also provide a gluten-free menu for those with intolerances (not suitable for allergies). Our daily menu includes breakfast, a convenient lunch box ideal for your surfing day, and dinner. Our cuisine is a fusion of international influences, and the social atmosphere during meals among guests enhances the overall experience.

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Our surf programs have been carefully designed so you can get the best out of the course, whether you are learning surfing for the first time or you are a more intermediate-advanced surfer.

Our lessons include: the introduction (1h), the lesson (2h), the theory (1h30), and the equipment (soft-top boards, wetsuit, and leash). For Level 1 and 2, we include surf skating or fitness sessions (1h) . Video analysis is included only in surf Level 2. The schedule will be determined at the camp upon arrival and will depend on your level and the ocean conditions.

LEVEL 0

THE BASIC

Suitable for first-time surfers or for those who have surfed a few times before, but wish to get the right technique from the beginning in order to progress faster. Strong bases make better surfers!

LEVEL 1

THE PATTERNS

Have had beginners surf lessons in the past. Feel comfortable with the basics surf techniques like paddling and stand up. Be able to catch, balance and stand comfortably on broken waves without assistance. Be able to catch occasional green small waves.

LEVEL 2

THE DETAILS

Have good board control and balancing skills. Be able to catch waves to both sides – left & right – and perform front and back side trim lines. Have good fitness and swimming skills.

Our surfboards, including soft top and Pristine (single fin, twin fin, fun board, and longboard), as well as surf skating, are free to use following our usage recommendations. A deposit and waiver sign-up will be required. Lessons will always have priority over usage.

You’ll meet people from all over the world and share amazing experiences together. From our tours to Coimbra and Porto, exploring the local markets and traditional fishing culture, to delightful concerts at the camp, you dance, laugh, skate, play volleyball, cycle, party, or simply relax during movie nights. We’ll have a flexible weekly plan that you’re free to join!

Characterization of surroundings/region

Tocha maintains its heritage as a fishing village, offering insights into local fishing practices and culture. Its welcoming locals, always eager to share more about their traditions, contribute to the warm and inviting ambiance of the town. As a fishing town, Tocha offers a delightful food experience focused on fresh seafood and traditional Portuguese cuisine that cannot be missed.

Activities and facilities

Whether you’re a beginner looking to try yoga for the first time or a seasoned practitioner, you’ll have the opportunity to practice outdoor yoga at Dreamsea Centro, enhancing the surfing experience with relaxation, balance, and mindfulness.
On Wednesday, we offer an optional weekly trip.

Coimbra-B train station:

Price: 15€ per trip and person

Pick-up and Drop-off : 8:00 to 22:00 (grouped by similar arrival times)

Porto Airport (OPO):

Price: 40€ per trip and person

Saturday: Pick-up: 10:00, 13:00, 19:00, Late transfer**

Drop-off: Early transfer*, 7:00, 10:00, 14:00

All transfers need to be booked at least 7 days before arrival.

Coimbra-B train station: It is strongly recommended to book your train tickets at least 2 weeks in advance due to limited seating availability on local trains.

Early transfer: the time depends on the first guest’s departure.

Late transfer: the time depends on the last guest’s arrival.
