We had so much fun! Carla is an amazing host that made us feel like being part of Lisbon people and not only tourists. Everything was very clean, the bed comfortable and we felt like home. Close to the flat are shops that offer good food for breakfast. The flat is in the third floor without elevator, which was no problem for us although we had a lot of luggage - Carla and Filipe even helped us to carry it upstairs :) We had so much fun! Filipe is very friendly and patient, he taught us some good moves and had fewer great tipps for us beginners. He was completely on time, which we really appreciated. All in one, an amazing week and a must-do if you‘re interested in surfing in the area of Lisbon! Would recommend and come for sure -

I had the best time! Carla is the best host you can imagine. She ist super friendly and will love to help you where she can. The hostel and the rooms are perfectly clean und tidy. We also enjoyed the breakfast very much. The neighborhood is also very nice. Lots of cafes, stores and restaurants where the locals go. You will find genuine food there for a good price. Overall we couldn’t imagine a better hostel. Stay there, you will love it. Even in December an amazing experience! With a group of three we learned the basics for surfing and got into the water pretty quickly! Waves were amazing and our teacher Filipe was very helpful at guiding us when to paddle and to stand up. He also had a GoPro to capture some moments for all of us which is very nice! I learned a lot not only about surfing but Lisbon and Portugal too! 100% recommend this activity with Filipe! I had the best time! -

Surftrip, der alle Wünsche erfüllt Carla und Filipe führen ihre Surfschule und das Guesthouse mit sehr viel Liebe. Das Guesthouse ist sehr sauber und ruhig gelegen, ein paar Stationen mit der Metro und man ist mitten drin im Stadtzentrum. Der Surfunterricht mit Filipe war einer der Besten den ich hatte. Er erklärt ruhig und ausführlich was man an der Surftechnik verbessern kann und geht auf konkrete Fragen und Wünsche ein. Filipe hat immer eine Kamera dabei im Wasser und macht Filme und Fotos von jedem Schüler. Für die einen eine schöne Erinnerung, für Surfer die ihre Technik verbessern möchten eine greifbares Feedback. Carla und Filipe sind sehr kommunikativ und teilen gerne ihre besten Tips für Sighseeings und gute günstige Restaurants.

ABOUT THE SURF CAMP
LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS
Lisbon is the only European capital that affords white sand beaches and several surf spots at about 10-minute drive from the city center. This surf city break offers the chance to experience true Lisbon and its magnificent surroundings. Revel in the wide coastline area that offers excellent conditions for surfing, varied delicious gastronomy, and fantastic cultural heritage experiences. Explore a rich coastline with varied elements such as tradition, gastronomy, cultural heritage, desert beaches, and uncrowded classy waves, in a very calm and relaxed way.
The surf lessons will take place south of Lisbon, Portugal, at the point where the Tejo River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Costa da Caparica is a place of a unique natural heritage, inserted in the Protected Landscape of the Fossil Cliff of Caparica. This coastline receives swells of all kinds. It is a consistent surf area, offering a variety of waves for all levels of surfing experience, from beginners to advanced surfers in search of perfect waves.
CAMP CHARACTER
Get Stoked Portugal is a guesthouse which combines accommodation at central Lisbon as well as travel seekers guided tours of evasion, adrenaline, contact with nature, tradition, food, and physical activity, integrating the guests into the traditional Portuguese day life.
CAMP OPERATOR
Filipe Ferreira is a waterman, videographer, a professional tour guide, and surf and bodyboard trainer with more than 20 years of experience. Sports like bodyboarding, skate, and surfing have completely consumed his life ever since he hit his teenage years in 1990. Graduated in Tourism from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, he attended the School of Technology of the Sea in Peniche, federated by the Portuguese Surfing Federation with the level 1. He also concluded a Post Graduation in Surfing and Performance from the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies.

Get Stoked Portugal is placed in a traditional building with a cozy atmosphere and different room types that make you feel at home, always spotless. The house can accommodate up to four guests in two splendid private rooms with a balcony, all sharing a comfortable bathroom. There is a full communal kitchen with a washing machine and a microwave.
Guests have access to all the common areas such as the fully equipped kitchen where breakfast is served daily, free wireless internet, cable TV, and many others. Stay at the city house with all the facilities you can imagine and Get Stoked's experienced team will take you to the best spots around Lisbon. This is the ideal place to relax after a day of surfing and sightseeing.
CATERING
There is a full communal kitchen with coffe machine and a microwave. Local restaurants are available at a 1 minute walking.

SURF COURSE DETAILS
Get Stoked’s surfing and bodyboard training process is based on the technical development of the sport with the main objective to a rapid evolution of the student. Through the use of our plan, methods and exercises, each student will develop new skills and a better understanding of the sport.
Each student will receive an initial assessment, where the trainer according to the main parameters of the training process, shall define his or her level. The trainer will then be able to pay more attention to the technical details of student´s performance. This adaptive training process focuses on individual skills that need to be improved, optimizing the time to bring a student to the next level.
SURF MATERIALS
Find your magic board with us! Take the opportunity to surf with different sized boards, try different shapes and discover the most suitable board for your level. Wetsuits are also included.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
No waves? Stand Up Paddle at the magical lagoon, skateboarding by the sunset, snorkeling in the bluest waters, mountain bike rides, climbing, sightseeing, trekking, yoga, wine tasting or even donkey rides can be excellent alternatives.
Surf sessions are subject to favorable weather/sea conditions. If canceled, each session will be replaced with a sightseeing and/or a walking excursions (Lisbon, Cascais, and Caparica region included).

Seasonal conditions
Lisbon is a city of an everlasting summer. Due to its privileged Mediterranean climate, there are only a few days of rain every year. During the summer the air temperature stays around 30 degrees Celsius and during the winter not less than 15 degrees. In the winter, the sea water tends to be warmer than in the summer.
Crowd factor and local people
Portugal is popular and owes it to itself. The Portuguese hospitality is know due to the warmth of its people and generosity of its beaches and waves. Long sand beaches with multiple breaks spread all this coastline, offering daily sessions with no one around.
SURROUNDINGS / REGION
Characterization of surroundings/region
Located in the most accessible and central part of Lisbon, São Domingos de Benfica neighborhood was once filled with farms. Now is a traditional neighborhood, where the hustle of the bustling streets blends smoothly into the calm and simplicity of the residential zones.
We invite you to walk around and feel like a local, absorbing the intense cultural life this neighborhood has to offer. You will find many small typical cafés and local restaurants that unite people from all ages.
From São Domingos de Benfica neighborhood is in fact quite favorable to move around. From the Benfica Train Station, it only takes nine minutes to reach Rossio (Lisbon city centre) and half an hour to Sintra village.
Ten minutes walking from the Lisbon Backpackers is the main transport station of Sete Rios/Jardim Zoológico with easy accessibility to anywhere in the city, beaches and cultural points of touristic interest.
The Lisbon Zoo can be found also in Sete Rios and is one of the major zoological gardens of Europe. The Monsanto Forest Park which lives door to door with the neighborhood, is the ideal place to run, bike and picnic, or just to take a nap by the sun. From here, you can have a short hike and enjoy the Lisbon view from the Aqueduct of the Free Waters, one of the most remarkable examples of 18th century Portuguese engineering. The Fronteira Palace also here located, is still one of the most charming residences of Lisbon with 17th and 18th century decorative tiles.

JOURNEY
Ways to get to the camp
From the airport by subway. The metro station is located next to the arrivals area at the Airport, which makes it very easy to use. Take the subway on the red line in the direction of "São Sebastião", change at São Sebastião station and take the subway on the blue line towards “Jardim Zoológico”. Get out at Jardim Zoológico and walk 800m.
