ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

This camp takes place in the Island of Gili Trawangan around coconut tree field, on the Northwest Lombok, Indonesia. You can be sure you are going to forget the stress of modern life. The surf spot is not far, only two minutes by bike (Kubu Surf School provides it for free). The island is one of the best spots to surf, diving, snorkel with turtles, beautiful sunsets. Also in the night life, there are a lot of pubs and musicians in the central area.

Who is the owner of the camp? Kadek Mega Aksara

I'm Kadek, from Nusa Penida Island, Bali. I moved to Lombok when i was small and I'm living now in Gili Trawangan, where my dad built by hand my own Bungalows, and my dream come true.

My passion is Surf, when i was 7 years old i found a piece of wood on the beach and my dad made my first surfboard.

Then started my passion.

I'm a surf teacher and I created my Surf school;

Kubu Surf School, located in Lombok and Gili Trawangan, because | love teach what i love to do.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Restaurants nearby: Yes (3-5$ per dish) -

SURF COURSE AND ACTIVITIES

Organisation- group size; 10, max 3 person/ instructor - course schedule and total duration: We have different courses, 7 Days/ 5 Days/ 4 Days-

course programme: 

-Typical daily schedule 

*Breakfast time (08:00-10:00) 

*After breakfast, you drive to the surf point 

*You do stretching for around ten minutes 

*First class, you do basic theory about surfing, position, waves, spots, current 

*One and a half hours class 

*Finish the class, you drive back to the accommodation 

* We arrange activities, during the day, depending the time, like Yoga, Massage, sunset watching, snorkeling trip...

* We organized family BBQ if groups are agree.

* We do jamming Music sessions sometimes in the evening.

On the last day, pictures are taken to see and check on your progression.

Materials used during surf course: Soaftop Boards, Long boards, fiberglass boards all size for intermediate and for advanced surfers-

What will the participants have to bring themselves? Suncream, water, leggins to avoid sun burnt...

Ways to get to the camp

-Arrival by ferry / fast boat 

From Bali, Padang Bai harbor, you can take a Fast boat to Gili Trawangan. From Lombok, you can take a public boat from Bangsal harbor to Gili Trawangan. You can walk from Gili harbor to North Island around ten minutes, or take a horse car. Ask for the Black & White cottages, Kubu Surf School is on next street.
