ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

Let Us Surf is located in Tamraght, a charming Moroccan surf village just a 10-minute walk from the beach. The area offers a stunning mix of ocean views, sandy beaches, and traditional village life. We’re surrounded by some of Morocco’s most famous surf spots, from mellow beach breaks perfect for beginners to point breaks that challenge intermediates, just a short drive away. Each day, we choose the best spot depending on the swell and the group’s level. Surf conditions are ideal year-round, with waves for all levels within a few minutes from the camp.

CAMP CHARACTER

Let Us Surf is a family-run surf camp with a cozy, tight-knit vibe, and it's the perfect fit for travelers looking for an authentic experience and meaningful connections. We welcome surfers from all over the world, with a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space to unwind after a day in the water. Our camp is more about connecting and chilling than partying. The average age of our guests is 20–35, but all ages are welcome. The main language spoken in the camp is English, but we also speak French, Arabic, Hungarian, German and Spanish. Families with children and well-behaved dogs are welcome too! (Please let us know beforehand if you're planning to travel with a furry friend! :) )

CAMP OPERATOR

Let Us Surf is a true family-run business, founded by Mounir and built entirely from scratch — no investors, just a lot of hard work, love, and passion for surfing and hosting. We welcomed our very first group in January 2023, visiting us all the way from Poland.

Julia, Mounir’s better half, handles the “marketing stuff” and manages reservations and daily operations alongside him. In the kitchen, you’ll find Mounir’s mom Fatima and his aunt Aicha preparing what we’re convinced is the best home-cooked food in town, full of love and Moroccan flavor.

When it comes to the waves, Mounir’s cousin Simo is there to help guests catch the best waves and level up their surfing skills too. On weekends and during school holidays, Mounir’s brother Hicham and cousin Abdrahman also join the team on the beach to lend a hand.

At Let Us Surf, everything is kept in the family — and we welcome you to become part of it too.

MORE INFO, HOW TO GET THERE & FAQ

SURF CONDITIONS
Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots

Our home beach and nearby spots offer a mix of mellow beach breaks (sandy bottom) perfect for beginners and intermediate surfers, and some punchier point and reef breaks for advanced surfers just a short drive away.

Distances: Our daily spots are within 5–20 minutes by car from the camp.

Seasonal conditions

Water temperature: ~18–21°C in winter (wetsuit recommended), up to ~23–25°C in summer.

Air temperature: Mild and sunny all year — around 20–25°C in winter, 28–35°C in summer.

Wind: Generally light offshore winds in the morning; stronger onshore breezes in the afternoon.

Waves: Consistent swells October–April; smaller, beginner-friendly waves May–September.

Crowd factor and local people

Many spots are peaceful and less crowded compared to Europe; some main breaks can get busier at peak times, but we know plenty of quieter options.

Local surfers are generally welcoming and happy to share the waves if you respect the line-up and surf etiquette.

SURROUNDINGS / REGION

Characterization of surroundings/region

We are located in Tamraght, a relaxed surf village on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, about 15 km north of Agadir (20–25 minutes by car).

The area combines beautiful beaches, rolling hills, and traditional Moroccan culture with a laid-back surf vibe.

Moroccan culture is warm, family-oriented, and hospitable — locals are friendly and curious.

Helpful language skills: French and a few words of Arabic or Berber can go a long way, but English is widely spoken in the surf community.

Currency: Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Cost of living is lower than in Europe — affordable food and shopping.

Health: No special vaccinations required; good medical care available in Agadir. Travel insurance recommended.

Activities and facilities

Beyond surfing: yoga, hiking in Paradise Valley, hammam/spa, beach horse or camel rides.

Excursions: Souk visit in Agadir, Paradise Valley trip, day trips to Essaouira or Marrakech.

Shopping: local markets, surf shops, and small grocery stores in Tamraght & nearby Taghazout.

Nightlife: This is not a nightlife destination. It's very chilled — some cafés and bars in the next village in Taghazout, rooftop gatherings, and occasional beach bonfires.

Special events: Surf competitions, Ramadan festivities, and seasonal cultural celebrations.
