Mita Surf House is a spacious home located just 3 blocks from a picturesque beach known for surfing and swimming..
Learn to surf at the best surf breaks in the Bay of Banderas. Punta Mita offers a variety of options for different level surfers, from beginners to advanced. The water here is clean and at a perfect temperature year-round. The first part of daily lessons are on land to ensure participants are ready to enter and exit the ocean safely, and to practice the "pop up." These land lessons are also an opportunity to learn more about reading waves nd currents.
Of course the real action happens when we get into the water. To ensure the best experience, each day our instructors determine where the best surf is going to be based on wind, tides and swell. Sometimes we drive to a nearby beach, or we walk or we get a ride on a fishing boat.
Participating in a surf camp is an opportunity to really see your surf skills and confidence grow each day. Participants will learn how to read and ride waves and safely enter and exit the ocean, pop-up and correct board positioning. Intermediate surfers may work on their turning and learn to gracefully and safely get off a wave. International surf etiquette is also an important part of surf culture that will be reviewed during surf camps.

Paddle boarding is the perfect activity for those who enjoy being on the water and want to be active while enjoying the tranquility of calmer water. We work with beginners to help them find the best board placement and paddling technique as well as water safety. For those who are already comfortable with SUP, we get right in the water. Our Punta Mita SUP outing is great for all levels and is a unique opportunity to see the sites of Punta Mita from the ocean. $50 for approx 2 hours
Our trip to Isla Coral is designed for those with some SUP experience and who are strong paddlers. This excursion includes transportation one hour north of Punta Mita to the town of Guayabitos where we will paddle out to an uninhabited island marine reserve, sometimes spotting whales as we go. There is an opportunity to snorkel around the island as well. $160 (for two people)
Stand Up Paddle Surf Lessons & Trips
This activity is recommended for those who are already comfortable on a paddleboard and would like to experience the rush of surfing. All levels are welcome however, and those participating in lessons will learn the best techniques for entering and exiting a surf break on a paddleboard; the best paddle techniques for catching waves and controlling the board, timing and how to read waves. Experienced paddlers are given a brief orientation to the area before getting in the water and then are encouraged to ride some waves. $65-75 (depending on location)

Surfing:We had a fantastic time at Mita Surf House. Kate and Luis welcomed us into their home and were generous about giving us their local knowledge of the town. They are sweet, super friendly, and very accommodating to our needs. The house is so beautiful and the room is the perfect size with lovely windows and AC.
Other (e.g. Surroundings, Nightlife, etc.):There were two of us, with different surf skill sets, but Luis talked with each of us about the things that we needed to improve on. We learned so much! I have been to other surf schools here in the area and often there are bigger groups or your instructor changes daily. We were with Luis all fives days at Mita Surf House and it was a very personalized experience. He is a passionate and experienced instructor who knows how to teach and provide personalized tips. He is very reliable and certainly i will go back to train other skills with him. Definitely highly recommended. La lancha is a very good beach and provides long wave rides.
This town in so much nicer than Sayulita-- very quiet and less touristy. The beach has families and clean water for swimming and surfing. There is not much nightlife but it? a safe and friendly town.
Surfing:Kate and Luis are fantastic hosts. The room is spacious, comfy, and well accommodated. Each morning the fresh breakfast was perfect and made with care.
Other (e.g. Surroundings, Nightlife, etc.):I found Luis’ drive and determination to make me a better student and surfer to be firm and he delivered his instructions in a very gentle manner and gave me constructive observations which I worked on the very next day! It was a great trip to Punta Mita!
The neighborhood is friendly, tucked away from heavy tourist activity, and extremely walkable. There? not a view of the ocean but it? only 3 blocks away.
No other properties nearby.
