ABOUT THE SURF CAMP

Kite beach, Cabarete, Dominican Republic.
Trade winds naturally pick up in the mid day and keep going until the afternoon.

Years of kitesurfing experience from the very beginning.
I Came to Kite Beach, Cabarete before there was a kite beach and fell in love with the location ever since I had my location in Miami, Florida.
Distribution, sales, lessons, kite trips, even kite repairs have been a part of his combined experience in the kitesurfing lifestyle.
I've been a professional kitesurfing instructor since the year 2000 and have had the opportunity to work with an array of different tech, real estate and famous celebrities and clients from all around the world looking for peak performance.
I'm always available and ready to go!

Kelvin Certified Profesional Instructor
I used C-kites with just two line systems. Luckily, kiteboarding has evolved since then and today it is much safer to learn this amazing sport.
I started competing in 2003/2004 in national competitions. Through these competitions at an early age, I gained a lot of valuable experience. I get to travel around the world to attend world championships.
I was sponsored by the kite legend Lou Wainman. After that, I joined the Spleene kiteboarding international team from Germany and now I am a part of my own school with Cabrinha.
Next to competing I discovered the joy of sharing my knowledge and passion about kiteboarding to others, and I shifted my focus more to teaching.
In 2007 I completed the IKO course and signed up for an English class, determined to pursue a teaching career.
Today I own my kitesurfing school in Cabarete, Dominican Republic named Optimal Kitesurfing School.
We have the greatest team at the Optimal Kitesurfing School with Iko certified instructors and assistants.
The whole team at Optimal is very dedicated to our students and strive to always provide the very best and safest methods for learning the sport. Before you know it, you will fly your kite, feeling alive and free. It is the best feeling when I see our students doing well and sharing my love.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Restaurants and bars are all over town. Be ready to learn to dance.

- taxi service from airport to camp is available upon request
- distance camp-airport is 20minutes to POP airport. We also go to STI airport and SDQ.
- public transport is called motoconcho (motorcycle taxi)
- taxi costs airport-camp $20 - 30 US dollars
