Playground Surf Resort has over 20 surf breaks around the resort including world-class waves for all surfing levels. We also have some secret spots that our surf guide will take you to score in the right conditions. Mentawai Islands are well known as one of the best surf destinations in the world. Strategiclly located on the globe, the islands receive constant swells all year around and offers waves for all levels of surfers. The area and a few SECRETS that our surf guide will proudly take you for that epic uncrowded session.

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

Playground Surf Resort was built in traditional Indonesian style, featuring functional and comfortable accommodation for your surf trip. The main house is divided into 4 spacious suite bedrooms. Each bedroom can accommodate a family of 4, a couple or a group of 3-4 friends. The house also got a large kitchen, dining room, open plan lounge multimedia room, toilet, coffee bar and internet access.

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots

Playground Surf Resort has over 20 surf breaks around the resort suitable for all surfing abilities. Our surf guide’s will also take you to score uncrowded perfect waves at some secret spots. All the surf spots are very near the resort, In around 5 - 15 min we can check around 10 - 15 waves, There is a few more which will take no more than 20 - 30min to get to and be first off the set.

Characterization of surroundings/region

The resort has more than 20.000m2 of lush green landscape surrounded by coconut trees and native vegetation. We have a natural source of clean fresh water wich provides plenty of quality water for our guests usage. We are located 40m above sea level offering a beautiful E-Bay view.

Activities and facilities

SNORKELING:
We are very blessed to have one of the most beautiful and colourfull reef at our door step. Enjoy the amazing underwater world of the Playground Surf Resort.

FISHING:
With our extensive fishing experience, we will take you to catch some great speedsters of the ocean, you better be prepared! Big Mahi-Mahi on light gear, extra large Giant Trevally and Tuna on lures all available in the calm waters of Playground area.

YOGA:
Morning sessions off Yoga with a relaxing view. Make your body and soul more comfortable with daily stretching amongst the beautiful Mentawai nature.

STAND UP PADDLE:
Playground Surf Resort has stand up paddle boards for guest use to go discover the bay and surrounds.

TRECKING:
We organise Mentawai trekking and hiking adventures for cultural sharing and family fun. Ask our guides for more information.

NATIVE CEREMONY:
Siberut island has a unique culture and one the most preserved primitive tribe in the world. Experience the unique native culture of the Mentawai Island.

Ways to get to the camp

1 - GETTING TO PADANG :
Currently the best way to get to padang is to fly from Jakarta (with Garuda or lion air) or Kuala Lumpur (with air Asia) for more info visit www.garuda-indonesia.com / www.lionair.com.id / www.airasia.com

2 - TRANSPORT AIRPORT TO HOTEL :
You will need to book your own accommodation in padang for your overnight stay. Please book a hotel near city center location.
- transport from airport to hotel varies from 250.000Rp to
450.000 Rp.

3. GETTING TO MENTAWAI:
Mentawai Fast ferry departs on Tuesday and Saturday at 7 AM (it takes more than 6 hours as it does not go direct).
- arrive in Padang every Tuesday and Saturday at 18:00 (it takes 3hrs direct).

Important note:
Arrival - You must arrive in Padang one day before your trip. An overnight in Padang will be required. We can reccomend you a hotel in Padang.
Return - Flights must be booked for the/sat after 21:00 or preferably the next day.

Mentawai - FAST FERRY:
The Mentawai Fast is the most comfortable and fastest way to travel to the islands. Air conditioned cabin and on board water and snacks available.

Important details

Visitors wishing to stay for longer than 30 days in Indonesia should apply for a visa before departure with the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin. This visa is valid for 60 days and may be extended in Indonesia.
IMPORTANT:Before leaving your country make sure you have a current yellow fever vaccination card. Exchange local currency to US dollars before arriving at the immigration officials in Indonesia. The immigration officials prefer that you have the $ 35.00 cash to pay the entry visa on arrival.
