The Surf Lodge is located in Maiorca (Figueira da Foz) close to the best surf coast of Europe. Is a great surf destination that works all year round and for all levels. It’s kind of a secret paradise of surf in Portugal, because there are not so many crowds and the surf spots still hold its natural beauty away from mass tourism.

If you’ve never surfed here, you've been missing out… come and you will easily fall in love for this little paradise.

If in the main surf spot, Cabedelo Beach, the surf conditions aren’t the best they are many breaks to explore and the team can take you to the another spot close by, such as Buarcos, Murtinheira, Poço da Cruz, Barra or Costa Nova.

During this surf holidays you will stay at Portugal On Water Surf Lodge that is located at Quinta D'Anta Hotel. Built on an old farm, the property combines the tranquility of the rural environment with the comfort of a modern hotel. Besides the beautiful landscape of Maiorca (Figueira da Foz), the great weather and the excellent surf conditions all year round, Portugal Surf Lodge it’s an amazing place that still has a lot to offer you:
- outdoor swimming pool;
- sun terrace;
- barbecue facilities;
- lounge with bar service and free pool table;
- restaurant open every day for dinner;
- water sports facilities;
- padel tennis;
- mountain bikes;
Each room at this property is air conditioned and is equipped with a flat-screen television with cable channels. All rooms have a private bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property (rooms, bars, restaurant, living rooms and outdoor areas) and if you drive a car we also have free private parking available.

This room is composed by 2 double/twin rooms connected with a communicating door. 
Each one also have independent entrance and their own private bathroom.

During your stay in the Portugal On Water Surf Lodge you can count with a delicious holidays. Portugal is well known for the gastronomy and we want you to keep that in mind…
For the breakfast you will have a big table waiting for you.. where you can choose between, fruits, cheeses, ham, scramble eggs, bacon, fruit juices, cakes… well if you feel hungry just eat it all.
At lunch time don’t forget to pass by the pool, the Bar Saladicious will offer you healthy but also very tasty food. 
When the night comes it’s time for comfort food our hotel has a restaurant open every day for dinner where you can try the chef’s specialties which includes some Portuguese traditional dishes.
If the weather is good you must ask for our delicious and fun barbecues where you can cast fish an meat, drink and party… you can’t miss it!!

SURF COURSE DETAILS

The surf camp works seven days a week and arrival is accepted on any day. Depending on the waves conditions and on your surf level, everyday they will try to combine lessons and free surf sessions that can go from one hour to two hours each, so you can learn and practice. Portugal On Water Surf Lodge offers surf lessons based on the participant’s skills. They have three customized programs: beginner, intermediate and advanced. If you have surfed before and you are not sure which level you fit in they will make an evaluation of your surfing skills and they will adjust You will be always assisted by a qualified surf instructor that will pick you up every morning from your accommodation and take you to the best waves in the area. But don’t take it to stressful, we can do as you wish, we really want you to feel at home in a relaxed atmosphere.

Just chill and fun at the Hotel… If any day you don’t feel like surfing just chill and have fun at the Hotel… If you wanna take some time from the busy days book a massage or just stay in our quite swimming pool it’s an amazing place. Otherwise we have plenty activities at hotel that you can explore... like stand up paddle, padel tennis and free use of mountain bike with GPS tracking and pool table. If the weather is good don’t forget to ask for our delicious and fun barbecues, you can’t miss it!! Jump to the city! If you miss people, want a night out or just want to know better Portuguese city culture we have 3 amazing cities around us where you can easily travel: Figueira da Foz (15 minutes away): known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, Figueira da Foz is also one best places to get sea food and fresh fish in Portugal. You can check the glamorous Casino in the city centre, walk around in the seaside street or hiking in the mountain. Coimbra (35 minutes away) - Coimbra is an old university town that is a part of UNESCO World Heritage since 2013. It’s a beautiful city where you can learn a lot about the history of Portugal. Go to Quinta das Lágrimas and don’t forget to ask about the famous and tragic love story about the beautiful Inês… Aveiro (45 minutes away) - It’s not Venice but it has it’s own charm… A city that is crossed by a river channel where you can book a trip on a colorful beautiful boat. Don’t miss the conventual pastry “Ovos Moles”… you will never forget it.

SURF CONDITIONS

---

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots Cabedelo It’s a great an exposed beach/pier break suitable for all levels. Just to the south of Figueira town and is an ex-WCT contest site. This excellent right wedges off the side of a long jetty and results in fast and hollow waves. NW winds are funneled offshore and it works best on a NW swell and incoming tide. Buarcos beach it’s a high quality right-hand point break that holds a decent swell, considered the longest right hander wave of Europe. It produces really long workable walls, with several surf spots along the coast.

Seasonal conditions Both spots can work at any time of the year. Offshore winds blow from the east. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and wind swells and the optimum swell angle is from the west.

Crowd factor and local people It tends to be a less crowded spot. Specially during the "low season". In the surf spots the locals are friendly. They share the waves.

Ways to get to the camp Please book your flight to arrive at: - Porto Airport (OPO) - 120 km   - Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS) - 196 km Transfer from and to the airport is not included but we can provide if you wish (please ask for the price in the inquiry). Whether you land in Oporto or Lisbon, you can reach Portugal On Water Surf Lodge (at Quinta d’Anta  Hotel) by metro and train, metro and bus or car. When opting for public transportation, you should head to Coimbra (or Alfarelos Station if you take the train) and than we provide a pick up time.
