Our surf camp is based in the relaxed surf village of Tamraght which is nestled on the Atlantic coast, just near Agadir. Morocco. We are located within easy reach of fifteen different and varied surf spots which means no surf day is ever the same as the one before. The surf coupled with the great climate - an average of 330 days of sunshine per year makes Morocco the perfect surf destination. 

We are located just a short 10 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the local shops and cafes.

We are a small, fun and friendly surf camp - we prioritise quality over quantity so if you are looking for a large surf camp that is not us! We keep things small, social and family style as we want to make sure you get the most out of your surf camp experience in Morocco.

We normally have a great mix of travellers in age range and also nationalities - it's this mix which we believe makes a great surf traveller experience.

Our surfers accommodation gives you the ultimate space to relax and unwind, at just a short 10 minute walk to the beach we think it's the perfect spot! The traditional Moroccan riad layout means that the rooms are all based off a central courtyard surrounding a peaceful pool and garden. The two beautiful roof terraces offer you additional areas to relax and socialise, as well as great spots to watch the sun setting.

All rooms are en-suite with bed linen, shower towels and daily servicing provided. We believe our surf riad accommodation gives you the ultimate space to relax, unwind and meet some awesome fellow surf travellers.

SURF COURSE DETAILS

---

Our surf courses run all year round and are available for all ages and surf ability! Our qualified, experienced and professional team are on hand to make sure you surf in a safe and fun environment. We aim to keep our surf lesson groups to no more than 4 students per instructor, giving you the best chance to improve and progress. 

The surf lessons set off daily to the beach, from there it's a full day at the beach with 2 1/2 hours of surf lessons in the morning, followed by a healthy packed lunch and then an afternoon 'free-surf' session (time to practice your skills!).  

We hope that after a week of lessons with Shaka Surf Morocco, you will have not only discovered a new passion for surfing but made new friends and shared some great memories.

SURF MATERIALS

All surf materials are included in the surf course - surfboards, leash and wetsuits. 

You will need to bring your own towel for the beach.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Yoga

Take part in sunset yoga classes for all abilities. Whether it's your first time or you are an experienced yogi, we have something for you! Join us on the mat, a perfect way to round off your day of surfing. Cost: 10 euro per person / per session

Horse Riding

Enjoy a beautiful sunset horseback ride along the beach. Walk, trot, canter or gallop, there are rides and horses for all levels. These horses are all housed in the local stables, a short 10 minute drive from our camp. Cost: 20 euro per person / per hour

Agadir Souk

Agadir Souk, rumoured to be the third largest souk in North Africa and at just a 30 minute drive from Tamraght, this large indoor and outdoor market is a great place to spend an afternoon. Take a walk around the many rows of stalls, exploring the wide range of traditional crafts, spices and foods of Morocco. Go on, test your bargaining skills and pick up some truly unique gifts. Cost: included for free.

Massage / Hammam

Treat yourself to a full body massage, choosing from a relaxing massage through to something a little stronger. A traditional Moroccan hammam is also available in a private steam room using black olive soap and gommage to scrub and massage the skin. The benefits include reduced muscle tension, improved circulation and nourished skin. Cost: from 20 euro person / per hour.

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots

Morocco is famed for its consistent year round swell, epic waves and friendly surf culture. The coastline serves up a wide range of surf spots from sheltered beach breaks through to firing point breaks, making it a must visit surf destination for all levels of surfer.

We are located within easy reach of fifteen different and varied surf spots which means no surf day is ever the same as the one before.

Seasonal conditions

Morocco is sunny all year round making it the perfect surf-getaway destination. There are waves all year round in Morocco but typically the peak swell season runs from October through to March - with 3/2 mm wetsuits advisable. For the summer, the waves are typically smaller and the water temperatures higher with board-shorts and bikini surfs possible. 

Crowd factor and local people

There is a friendly surf culture with the locals and of the crowd factor varies depending on the surf spot and condition. We aim to take you to the best and least crowded surf spots of the day and aim keep our surf groups to no more than 4 students per instructor.

Ways to get to the camp

We offer a free Agadir airport or bus station transfer to and from the camp for all guests booked onto our week long surf packages. 

If you are coming from Essaouira or Marrakesh the bus is the easiest and cheapest option to get to us. There are two bus companies which we would recommend you take, either Supratours or CTM these are the larger Moroccan inter-city bus companies. We can then collect you from the Agadir bus station and bring you to the surf camp. 

Important details

Visa requirements 

EU and U.S passport holders do not require a passport for tourist entry into Moroccan, on entry you are granted a 90 day tourist visa, for all other nationalities we recommend you check with your nearest Moroccan Embassy.

Please note, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. 

Electricity plugs

Morocco is on 220 volts with two-pin round plugs. Please make sure you bring the suitable adaptors for your appliances.

Travel insurance

You are responsible for making sure you obtain travel insurance before your trip. We require that all clients to Shaka Surf Morocco are fully insured, we accept no responsibility for loss, theft, damage or injury to persons or surf equipment during their stay.
