Are you ready to score some perfect waves aboard our Siloina Surf Charters? The West & North Sumatran Islands, including the famous Mentawai Islands and the less-traveled gems like Telos, Nias, Banyaks, and the West Aceh region, are located in one of the best surf regions on the planet.

Mentawai Islands

The famous Mentawai Islands, located in West Sumatra, offer some of the best waves in the world and have been featured in countless iconic surf films. From the infamous Rifles and Kanduis in the Playgrounds to the perfectly consistent right-hander at Lance’s Right and the mechanical perfection of Macaronis, this region is a surfer’s paradise.

These waves are even more breathtaking in person and are a bucket-list experience for every surfer.

Telos Islands

Just north of the Mentawais lie the Telos Islands, offering excellent protection during peak season when the Indian Ocean delivers its biggest swells. The Telos Islands provide a great variety of waves, from fun and playful breaks to hollow, barreling waves for advanced surfers and barrel hunters.

More remote and less crowded than the Mentawai region, where most charter boats operate, the Telos Islands are a hidden gem of natural beauty and incredible surf.

Nias

Nias is not only famous for its culture but also for having one of the best right-handers in the world, located at Lagundri Bay, which is also high on every surfer’s bucket list. Nias offers year-round options, from fun surf to big barreling waves during the peak season. The island of Nias also has plenty of other perfect waves that aren’t on the map for exposure.

Banyak Islands

The Banyak Islands are known for having some of the best waves in the world that are still unofficial and not widely exposed. In this pristine region, you can score perfect waves with almost just your crew onboard in the lineup.

Located north of Nias, the Banyak Islands take a bit of travel time to reach, but that’s no problem. You’ll travel in comfort and style, enjoying incredible food and cold beverages along the way, making the journey to this paradise as comfortable as it is exciting.

Simuelue

Northwest of the Banyaks lies West Aceh, including Simuelue Island, another lesser-known gem with a variety of quality waves, from perfect A-frame breaks to world-class right-handers. While the island has a few surf camps and resorts, it remains quiet and unspoiled, offering yet another world-class surf destination.

North Sumatra truly has it all.

Life on Siloina One and Siloina Two is all about finding the perfect balance between epic surf sessions and laid-back downtime. When you’re not out in the water scoring waves, you’re kicking back, relaxing, and soaking up the good vibes onboard.

After an early morning surf, there’s nothing like lounging on the deck with a cold drink in hand, enjoying the tropical breeze as you swap stories with your crew. The day flows at your own pace—maybe you chill out in the air-conditioned lounge with some board games or catch up on surf footage from the day’s action. The fully stocked bar is always open for a refreshing cocktail or an ice-cold beer, so you’re never far from a toast-worthy moment.

ACCOMMODATION AND CATERING

Siloina One & Two

Both our unique surf charter boats, Siloina One and Siloina Two, are designed for world-class surf charters, offering the perfect way to explore the best surf spots in the Mentawai Islands and beyond.
Onboard, our 15-person strong crew will welcome you and provide top-notch service and safety, setting the foundation for a perfect trip. Siloina Surf Charters are built with space and comfort to ensure a smooth sail from surf break to surf break or island to island.
We plan to sail at night so that you wake up right at the best surf break, with the optimal conditions as called by our surf guide, who is in sync with the latest weather and surf reports. While some guests hit the waves at first light, others can relax and enjoy a delicious breakfast and coffee from our onboard barista. We have two tenders that shuttle you back and forth to the surf breaks all day, until sunset, when we enjoy the last waves or sunset drinks at the back deck bar.
Both of our boats were built by surfers, for surfers. After over a decade of running luxury phinisi yachts, we recognized the need to raise the bar for surf charters—and that’s exactly what we’ve done. With Siloina One and Siloina Two, we’re taking surf trips to the next level.
