Big Waves Soledad  is located in an emblematic house built in 1900 with much love and effort we have restored, keeping everything old that still had. We are at the Northern General Road No. 52, 35413 payor, in the municipality of Moya, Gran Canaria. Canary Islands.

Co-Founders:

Fran
Lover of the sea, and the present moment. He began his career as a lifeguard beaches more than 10 years.later he graduated as a professional diver and sea rescue swimmer, knows all the nooks and spots of the island perfectly. With him the fun and adventure are assured.

Carlos
Love of life and nature, friend of his friends and a passion for the sea and its surroundings. Surfer for over 25 years and the local northern Gran Canaria ago. Leaves everything to embark on a new adventure related to the sea and to the treatment of his friends, hence born SOLEDAD BIG WAVES. Knows all the nooks and spots on the island to perfection, with him the fun and adventure are assured.

The Soledad Big Waves is a restored finca from the 1900 century, is a listed building and has been artistically worked up with great attention to detail. A backdrop from a different era: colorful and in love with wood, modern and old combined. Dreamlike.
The Soledad Big Waves Hostel has a huge lounge, which is a patio, where you will find a cozy sitting area as well as the kitchenette, where you have a stove with oven, toaster, kettle, coffee maker and two refrigerators. Here you can supply yourself with fresh mangoes, papayas and avocados for breakfast. At lunchtime we will hand you a packed lunch and in the afternoon and evening you can go to the restaurant right next to the hostel to feast.
In the hostel we have separate men's and women's toilets and a bathroom with separate showers.
Everything spacious and with a lot of light and love.
The hostel has a single room, a double room, a dorm for women (6 beds in total) and a large room with 12 beds with individual lockers.

Restaurant within the hostel: We know that eating is one of the great pleasures of life, so in Soledad Big Waves. We offer a menu with fresh quality products, purchased from small businesses and farmers in the north of Gran Canaria, ensuring the best raw material.

In the basement we have 200 m² dedicated to surfing. Store tables, restrooms and anything you need before and after a good session. It is the place where classes are taught and sports equipment for rent.

 SURF CONDITIONS

Of The Puertillo is located in Arucas , it is a rocky beach and sand but usually have good conditions for bathing. It also has showers and surveillance services. Despite the wave characteristic of the area they are very popular with people in the north of the island beaches.

Characterization of surroundings/region

The indigenous north coast of Gran Canaria, blessed with great, sandy beach breaks in summer, offers waves all year round. Enjoy the tranquility of Canarian life in the Endless Summer after a long surf session and feel the unique energy.

Mass tourism has not made it this far, which means that we surf here all year round and feast in local restaurants with jacket potatoes with a salt crust in red mojo sauce. Green valleys land you to climb and hike along small waterfalls up to Firgas, experience a surfing holiday differently, unique, because you dive into the quaint and authentic Gran Canaria.

Activities and facilities

In the area we not only have great waves for surfing: El Paso, El Bunker, La derecha del Roque, El Picacho but also many other possibilities for activities: the sea swimming pool of San Lorenzo is less than 4 minutes' walk from Soledad Big Waves, there can you sunbathe and swim.
A hike to the Cenobio de Valeron takes about 1.5 hours and takes you along a coastal road with a wide view of the sea and past banana plantations, where you can experience the history of the indigenous people of Gran Canaria up close. If you are still fit, walk down the former shepherd's path to San Felipe. Climb on the natural climbing rocks of the valleys of Moya and San Felipe and experience a sports holiday with a lot of variety.
