There are different surfing spots available in Manta. You can surf for example at the beaches San Lorenzo or Las Pinas, which offer surf conditions also for beginners. But the surfing programm is only available from December to April.

It's a small Camp with young people, because Sur Pacifico Spanish is mainly a language school for students.

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

Comfortable accommodations are a key component of an effective study abroad program. With the goal of providing a variety of options for our students’ needs, we offer two possibilities for housing:
1) Family home-stays
2) Student’s apartments

Home stay The extraordinary cultural warmth of the Ecuadorians will make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. They will welcome you as a part of the family, even if you only stay for one week. With the home-stay option, students are provided: a private bedroom inside the house of the family, two meals (breakfast, and dinner), and most important: participation in the family life, having the opportunity to consistently practice the vocabulary and grammar learned in class.
Student’s Apartment The school has fully furnished apartments with nice bedrooms with air conditioning and private bathrooms (with hot water). The common area gives a lot of space with the new kitchen facilities, a big table, TV, sofa etc. and it will make you feel very comfortable from the first minute. All the students have access to the school’s pool and the Wi-Fi. Our new building is placed in a very friendly and safe area and it is an excellent choice for students who want more independence.
Meals and laundry service are not included.

SURF COURSE DETAILS

Students learn Spanish (individual or group lessons) and enjoy surfing classes in different beaches in Manta: Murcielago Beach, San Lorenzo, Las Pin?as and more. The program includes 20 hours per week of Individual/Group Spanish lessons + 10 hours of surfing classes per week (qualified instructor and surf board provided).
Surfing program is only available from December to April!

Characterization of surroundings/region
Manta is a picturesque city, located on the Pacific Ocean, in a dry tropical forest with an average annual temperature of 25 degrees Celsius (77° F).
Manta has some of the most stunning beaches of South America, and it has become the best and affordable destination for surfing, kite surfing and diving. The beaches are suitable for practising these great water sports for all kind of levels. At the beach of Tarqui, you can also do a variety of sports like volleyball, soccer and more.
Furthermore, Manta is an important centre for the tuna and fishing industry; therefore you will find the most incredible seafood restaurants as well as an active nightlifewith some great bars and clubs as well as a few casinos.
Manta is still not discovered by non-Ecuadorian tourism, it is the ideal place to get to know the real Ecuadorians and to get fully immersed into the Ecuadorian culture.

Activities and facilities
In the surroundings of Manta there are many interesting places you can visit, like Montecristi, the official town of the ‘Panama hats’, Machalililla National Park with fascinating flora and fauna and The San Plácido Waterfalls and La Locita Waterfalls, which are both only 2 hours away from Manta and there you can enjoy an incredible flora inside a forest.

Ways to get to the camp
From Guayaquil
We offer private Shuttle Service from the Airport in Guayaquil direct to Manta: USD $110.
Students arriving to Ecuador through Guayaquil can also travel on their own from Guayaquil to Manta by bus. There are several bus companies such as Reina del Camino, Coactur, Carlos Alberto Aray. We can provide a free pick-up service at the bus station in Manta. Students need to call before leaving from Guayaquil to Manta (there are many public telephones at the bus station in Guayaquil) in order to arrange the pick-up service. 

From Quito
There are two options to reach Manta from Quito:
By bus: (9 hours, USD $10) we can pick up the students at the bus station in Manta and bring them to the host family/apartment. We suggest taking a bus from "Flota Imbabura" Bus Company, which runs several times a day everyday from Quito to Manta.
The New airport in Quito is 1h30 away from the city and a taxi from the airport to the city will cost USD $35, but there are also public buses and airport buses for less money.
By plane: (30 minutes, ? USD $70) we can book a flight ticket for the students from Quito to Manta. If they wish, we can also advance the price of the ticket and they can repay us on the first day of school in Manta. We can pick up the students at the airport in Manta. Our driver will welcome them with a well visible nameplate and will bring them to the host family/apartment without any additional charge.
