LOCATION AND SURF CONDITIONS

Our All Inclusive Vila Catarina and the big garden offer pure relaxation! It is a 5-10 minute drive to Lagos centre and seems like a small oasis in a quiet and beautiful location. The highly comfortable rooms are equipped with two or three beds and ensuite bathrooms (except for one). A large and cosy living room offers entertainment for all who exhausted themselves during surf sessions: TV, DVD, stereo, PC – and even a pool table. Moreover, you can surf the whole villa on our convenient and indispensable wireless LAN.

On colder winter days, you might as well hop into our private sauna.  If you still wish for more action after your beach or surf trip, you are welcome to stretch out in the sun inside our idyllic garden, play ping pong or refresh yourself in the swimming pool.

As we are situated close to the South- and the West coast of Portugal, there is a hughe selction of surfspots close to our camp. And we can find great conditions for beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers!

CAMP CHARACTER

 Relaxing is the priority in our villas- but there is also spontaneous pool parties and the many different bars in Lagos which get the active people tired. The average age is between late 20ies and early 30ies- but we are happy to get people of every age on the surfboard!

CAMP OPERATOR

TSE is one of the oldest surf camps in the Algarve and was founded by Dago and Connie Lipke. Dago's love for surfing and the ocean is strong and he can often be seen walking up and down his longboard catching long rides wherever we go. Marlon, the older son, already took advantage of the passion for surfing – he has become a world-class surf pro! Melvin, his younger brother, is a highly gifted surfer as well and an excellent surf coach! Connie's world famous skills in the kitchen have to be sampled to be believed, her truly first-class cooking will blow you away. A couple of years ago, Iris and Urs started to manage the camp. After long years of traveling and working in different surfcamps they finally settled down in Portugal. They are now showing beginners as well as pro surfers the most beautiful spots of the Algarve.

Connie's world famous skills in the kitchen have to be sampled to be believed, her truly first-class cooking will blow you away.  Vegetarian, vegan, any allergies? No Problem! On 2 nights a week, we will drive you into town and you will be able to choose one of the numerous great restaurants. Most people usually stay in town for one or two drinks as well as to get to know the famous Lagos nightlife...

SURF COURSE DETAILS

We've been teaching first time surfers in Portugal for more than 18 years now and even the most landlocked individuals leave the course with a taste for salt water and a smile on their faces. If you want to learn without pressure or fear of failure then join our surf schools - safe learning with a focus on FUN! We will teach you the basics in praxis and theory!

We offer surf lessons for all surf levels, surfguiding for advanced surfers and private coaching.

The surf lessons are for beginners and intermediate surfers who don't want to arrange and worry about anything. From your first contact with a surfboard to the perfect maneuver. Your surf lessons will be based on your personal level of surfing. You will have transfer to different spots and around 3 hours of surf lessons every day. Video analysis and theory lessons complete your surf experience.

The surf guiding is for advanced and experienced surfers who don't want to waste time with searching waves. Our guide is not necessarily a surf instructor or life guard, but he knows the coast and the spots perfectly and brings you to the best waves between Ariffana and Lagos every day of the week. With our guiding you surf on your own risk, even with the spot introduction by our guide you need to know the surfer's etiquette and being able to surf controlled on busy spots.

For everyone who wants the maximum push for his surfing, we recommend our private coaching. The surf teacher finds the best waves of the day and will coach you individually.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Surfing is our priority but of course there is a lot more to do in Lagos! In our Vila Catarina you will find a pool and a ping pong table, as well as indo boards and slack lines. We have wifi, tv, dvd, hifi, books, magazines and games. One yoga session is included in your package price in Vila Catarina but you can also book extra yoga and messages if you like. In summer time we like to party at the pool and in wintertime it gets cosy in the sauna and at the fire place...

You are very welcome to book some yoga sessions and massages in Vila Catarina to relax body and soul.

SURF CONDITIONS

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots

 Our fantastic location offers us the possibility to surf at the South and at the West coast of Portugal. This wide range of surf spots provides best conditions for beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers.

Seasonal conditions

It is possible to surf all year round in the Algarve. The many different bays offer best conditons for all surf levels all year round.

Crowd factor and local people

 Portugese people are very relaxed- who would not be if he had sun and waves all year round? Even if it gets a bit more crowded during the summer months you will be welcomed if you respect the surfers etiquette.

Characterization of surroundings/region

 The breathtaking nature makes Lagos starting point of grotto trips, dolphin tours, fishing and kayaking. Also SUP trips are possible! For everyone who needs a little break from the water once in a while there is bike trips, horse riding and quad tours.

Activities and facilities

 Warm summer nights, cheap drinks and good people.... The nightlife of Lagos is famous with its bars and clubs everywhere in town. But you will soon see for yourself!

Ways to get to the camp

You can arrive and depart every day of the week! The closest airport is Faro. From Faro you can take a bus (www.eva-bus.com) or train (www.cp.pt) to Lagos and we will pick you up at the train station if a car is available. But anyway a taxi to the villas is only 10€.

We also offer a private transfer that picks you up at the arrival terminal and takes you directly to the villas.

It is easy to come to Lagos by car. You will get a description with your information sheet. Free parking is possible directly in front of the villas.
