Ways to get to the camp
1. Arriving by bus and ferry
From the 7-10 Bus Station in San Jose, there are two daily departures to Cobano, Santa Teresa at 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The bus fare covers the ferry journey from Puntarenas to Paquera. Upon arrival in Paquera, the bus continues to Cobano, the town nearest to Santa Teresa, or directly to Santa Teresa.
The entire trip takes approximately 6 hours, including a ferry ride across the Gulf of Nicoya, offering a scenic and tranquil experience with stunning views of the Peninsula.
2. Arriving by shuttle
Santa Teresa is one of Costa Rica's most beautiful and popular destinations.
For your comfort, shuttle transportation from San Jose (SJO) airport to Santa Teresa can be arranged directly to Akih's door. Vehicles leave SJO airport twice daily at 6:15 AM and 2:00 PM. Our shuttle service will collect you from Akih Pods Hostel at the scheduled departure time and ensure you are dropped off right at the airport's gate.
3. Arriving by car
Numerous car rental options are available at the airport.
After picking up your rental, head to Puntarenas to board the ferry to Paquera. Upon arrival in Paquera, continue driving your car towards Cobano and then on to Santa Teresa Beach. It's advisable to make reservations online beforehand to ensure a place on the ferry.
4. Arriving flying
The quickest route to the tropical paradise of Santa Teresa is by air. You can board a domestic flight from either San José (SJO) or Liberia (LIB) airports to the nearby Cobano (ACO) Airport. The two local carriers, Sansa and Green Airways, provide daily flights to Cobano, which take approximately 40 minutes. Upon arrival in Cobano, we can organize a shuttle for you, or you can opt for a 20-minute taxi ride. Either option will ensure a comfortable journey right to Akih's doorstep.
