DAR SURF is based in the laid-back fishing village of Taghazout. Once famous for calamari and hippies, it is now considered Morocco’s leading surf destination for both beginners and pros.

We have many different surf spots around Taghazout. These are both perfect for every level.

DAR SURF – Surfcamp is your home away from home and is just a short stroll to the beaches of Taghazout and its array of shops and cafes. The accommodation at our surfcamp has been designed specifically with its guests in mind. With views of Panorama beach, Hash Point and Anchor Point from the roof terrace, it’s a perfect spot to check out the waves or relax and soak in the beauty of Morocco’s sunrises and sunsets.

At DAR SURF we offer surf lessons and surf guiding for all abilities, from the complete beginner to the pro, as well as many other activities and services to make your surf trip the best possible activity holiday.

DAR SURF is an authentic Moroccan surf and yoga camp created by a European couple who fellt in love with the beauty of Taghazout, and a Moroccan surfer who has always wanted to share his experiences surfing the best Moroccan waves.

The newly-built surfcamp has a roof terrace with hillside and ocean views; light, spacious Moroccan-inspired bedrooms with comfortable beds; traditionally-tiled bathrooms with modern showers; delicious fresh Moroccan food; a daily cleaning service; free wifi and a team on site 24/7.

Breakfast is served daily on the terrace offering a mix of Moroccan and European food. We offer a mix of traditional Tajine and couscous dishes, lots of fresh vegetables, healthy salads and fresh meat and fish. We also cater for all dietary needs on request.

We have a mix of accommodation and room types, all of which include bed linen, towels, breakfast and internet. Some rooms are shared but can be booked privately for a supplement (please enquire).

A minimum stay of three nights is preferred. Airport transfers are included in our week-long packages.

ROOMTYPES:

1. Ensuite Double Room

Our beautiful ensuite double room is great for couples looking for a romantic, active and chilled holiday. It has a king-sized bed and traditionally tiled bathroom equipped with towels, hairdryer and an assortment of soaps, shampoos and body lotion.

2. Twin rooms

We have four spacious twin rooms with shared bathrooms containing three separate showers, a Moroccan tiled sink, and traditional mirrors. We also have one twin room with a private shower and bathroom.

3. Dorm Rooms

Our dorm rooms are great for those travelling independently and looking to make friends, as well as those travelling on a budget. Our 8-bed dormitory is equipped with four bunk beds and has private access to a set of three showers and separate toilet. Towels and linen are also provided and the room is cleaned daily keeping it fresh and airy. We also have a 4-bed dorm with private showers, bathroom and a kitchenette – perfect for small groups looking for a more private apartment of their own.

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots

We have many different surf spots around Taghazout. These are both perfect for every level.

Seasonal conditions

The surf and weather in Morocco is perfect nearly all year round.
During the summer we see small to medium swells with surf mostly on the beaches. These waves are perfect for beginners and lower-intermediate level surfers.
In winter time, the waves are much better for all levels. There is a great variety of surf in the Taghazout area between October to April, which is what makes the area a famous surfing mecca!

Ways to get to the camp

1. BY PLANE

Many airlines fly directly to Agadir and even more to Marrakech. The approximate flight time to Morocco from Europe is between 3 and 4 hours. The website Skyscanner is a great way to find the best prices for flights to Agadir. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the low prices to fly to Waveland.

Transfers from Agadir airport or bus station are included in the packages and also available on request for our B&B guests. The prices are as follows:

    Agadir Airport: 300 dirhams (€30)
    Marrakech Airport: 1320 dirhams (€120)
    Agadir Bus Station: 150 dirhams (€15)

If you’d like us to organise your transfer, just provide us with your flight information when making your booking and we’ll arrange for our driver to meet you on arrival.
We share the cost of the trip between everyone coming on the same flight or bus.
If you would prefer to get a private taxi we can easily arrange this for you.

2. MAKING YOUR OWN WAY TO DAR SURF

Guests arriving into Marrakech airport have the option of taking a short taxi ride directly to Marrakech bus station where you can get a CTM or SUPRA TOURS bus to Agadir. This will cost around 10 € and the bus will take about 3 hours to reach Agadir.

Should your flight arrive late into Marrakech airport, we would recommend an overnight stay at the Ibis hotel. Not only is it a great place to stay but it’s also right next to the bus station so you can resume your onward journey to Taghazout in the morning.

You can also drive to us from Europe by taking a ferry from Tarifa or Algeciras to Tangier. There’s a highway all the way to Agadir, which is in a very good condition, safe and cheap. It will take around 7 hours driving to reach Taghazout.

Important details

If you hold an EU passport valid for six months beyond your return date, you won’t need a visa to enter Morocco. If you hold a passport from outside the European Union, please check with the Moroccan Embassy in your country, or visit a Visa Checker website such as https://www.travisa.com/Visa_Search.
