Explore, surf and discover the beautiful island of Lombok, Indonesia.
We are located in the beach town called Kuta in the south of Lombok island-Indonesia. There are several different ways how to get to our camp: by plane, Lombok Praia Airport is 30 minutes away from DHM Surf Camp and it has domestic and international flights connecting to various destinations; or by boat, fast boats and ferries come directly from Bali and/or the Gili islands. Lombok has a tropical weather all year long and two seasons, dry and wet season. The first one starts from May until November and wet season starts in December and lasts until April. During both seasons there are many waves for any surfing type of levels. The spots vary from first timers and beginners breaks to advanced and pro surfers breaks. Thus, Lombok is always a good option for a surf trip.

DHM Surf Camp Villa is a young business run by Sari who is an Indonesian surfer girl and by Javier, a South American surfer from Chile. Both have extensive surfing knowledge and expertise in hospitality who want to share their love of the ocean with you. Regardless your surfing level or your previous surfing experience, we will take you on a surfing adventure with excellent waves that you´ll never forget.
The staff and surf instructors who work for DHM are basically committed local Indonesian people. They will help you at any time and make sure you will have a blast.

ACCOMMODATION TYPES

The accommodation option for the surf camp is private fancy double room with private bathroom, with Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, mini fridge inside the room, hot water and daily breakfast. The pool will only be a few steps away from your room, where you can enjoy the quiet setting of your homestay and relax. Your breakfast will be served just outside your room before you get ready for a busy day of surfing and other activities! Coffee, tea, and water are provided 24 hours.

Among the different standard options we provide for breakfast, our menu offers delicious pancakes with fruits such as bananas and pineapples prepared by our charming and dedicated chef, eggs that may be prepared scrambled, poached, fried or in vegetable omelets accompanied by crispy toasts. In addition, we offer fresh natural juices that vary according to the fruit season (orange, pineapple, mango, dragon fruit, papaya, banana and more). Lastly, we also have in our menu fruit salad for those who are on diet.Furthermore, as part of our surf camps' extra activities, we provide cooking class to our customers. The dish we teach how to cook can be chosen from a diverse list of options and according to every guest's diet requirements. Among the most popular dishes there are: "Gado Gado", "Nasi Goreng" and "Mie Goreng".

SURF COURSE DETAILS

---

We have two different packages, one short package (3 nights/4 days) and one long package (5 nights/6 days). Both packages are suitable for surfers of all levels, beginners, intermediates and advanced. In addition, these packages are available on fixed dates, where usually there are groups of 3 to 6 people in average and on flexible dates, where the surf camp may be personalized for a single person only or for a small group.
All our packages include accommodation with daily breakfast, airport transfer (pick up ad drop off), transportation to the surf spots, fees such as parking and boat fee if applies, 2 surf lessons or surf guiding a day and customized photo analysis of the progress during the stay. Furthermore, each lessons or guiding last approximately 2 hours in the water and one instructor can be in charge of a maximum of two people in every lesson. Moreover, in order to develop the surfing schedule, we have to be aware of tides, swells, weather conditions and of course the surfing skills of the individuals. Thus, we build a personalized daily schedule together with the customers the first day when they arrive with the purpose to deliver the most proper surf option according to all the factors mentioned before for every single person.

SURF MATERIALS

We have a vast range of boards for every surf level that you may try during your stay with us. We will help you to choose the best board between a soft board, fiber glass and epoxy boards that will be available for you. Additionally, we provide you with rush guards, wax for your board, zinc for your face to protect you from the sun and a healthy snack and water after every lesson or guiding.
All you need to bring is your personal towel, sunscreen and a positive attitude with a big smile.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

As part of our extra activities, our packages include cooking class which is made by one of our distinguished chef, a yoga class in a scenic place where you can relax and connect with nature, sunset views from great watching spots and a BBQ on the last night of your stay as a farewell.
Nevertheless, there are several more activities and things to do around Kuta which people can hire and are not included in the packages. Some of those extra activities are waterfall trips, snorkeling, wake surfing, visiting local villages, massages, paragliding and more.  SURF CONDITIONS

Breaks directly at the main spot and at nearby spots
Most of the breaks are reef breaks, only one spot which is for beginners only is sandy and directly in the shore. Additionally, reef breaks usually are far away from shore and hiring a boat is required. Our packages include all the boat fees and transportation to the surf spots and back to the hotel.

Seasonal conditions
There are 2 different seasons: wet season (from December to April) and dry season (from May to November), this last one usually tends to be windy.
Despite these two type of seasons, there are waves available all year long because the different swells that hit Lombok along with the different weather conditions, make the surfing possible for any surfing level, with high class waves, safe and challenging.

Crowd factor and local people
There are several spots for different type of surfing level. For instance, in beginners spots expects big crowds with many beginners trying to get their first waves or trying to manage the balance on the board. On the other hand, in more advance surfing skills spots do not expect beginners, but depending on the day you may find a lot of good surfers or just a few enjoying of the waves for themselves.
No matter what, local surfers are very kind with tourist and foreigner surfers, talkative and respectful. As long as you show respect, good mood and follow the normal rules in the water there won't be any inconvenient, only fun surf.

 SURROUNDINGS / REGION

Characterization of surroundings/region
South Lombok is a very scenic place with a lot of wild life, green landscapes and beautiful beaches. Kuta Lombok which is the most touristic town of the area has been growing every year and it will continue growing even more during the coming years. There are many hotels, bars, restaurants (westerns and local Warung), little hospitals, supermarkets and all the basic you may need. There is an international airport only 30 minutes away from town and there are several transportation options for all pockets. Furthermore, the closest beach is called Kuta Mandalika beach where people usually hang out during sunsets, this beach is not for surfing but is suitable for swimming. Moreover, to get to the surfing spots you need wheels, normally people hires scooters with a surfing rack to put the surf boards and they are safe to ride. However, you need to be careful on the route, park your motorbike in the parking zones where is safe and wear helmet all the time while driving to prevent. Lastly to give you an idea, the closest surfing break is only 10 minutes away driving and the rest are not that far away.

Activities and facilities
Kuta Lombok is a quite social and motivated town. There is always something to do from relaxing Yoga, massages or spending the day at a quiet beach to something with more action like beach sports, go out for happy hour cocktails or party at night in any of the numerous bars in town. In addition, there are day tours you may hire such as waterfall trips, snorkeling day, hiking the famous Rinjani Volcano, day trip to the Gili islands and more.

Ways to get to the camp
There are a couple of ways to get to Lombok first, by flight or by ferry. Usually the flight is more convenient, cheaper, faster and easier than the ferry. Whichever the way a person arrives to Lombok, we may arrange a pickups and drop offs. Nevertheless, remember that all our packages include airport pick up and drop off. However, if anyone arrives by ferry, the best option is to take a cab or taxi directly in the harbor. There are a lots of options that provide transportation towards Kuta Lombok and they are all reliable and safe (average time travel from the harbor to Kuta 2 hours)

Important details
As an advise for travelers all around the world, always keep an eye on your belongings, do not travel with too much money in cash or jewelry. Normally, Kuta Lombok is pretty safe and welcoming, rarely something bad happen to tourist but that doesn't mean you don't have to prevent.
